I have worn Landreth for almost 5 years now, and I've never had problems with them until now. They have been the most comfortable running shoes that I've ever worn. I bought the 5's online, and I haven't been very pleased. They are stiff and hard on my feet, even with the over-the-counter orthotics that I use. If my 4's didn't have so many miles on them, I'd switch back to them.

I have run in Landreths for many years and absolutely loved them. I was sad when the 5 model came out but still faithfully bought them. However, after several weeks (40-50 miles/week) I developed severe shin splints-a teammate of mine had a similar problem with this model. The landreths were great until model 5. I've switched to cumulus 11 with average results, I'd love to see the old Landreths reinstated.

I used to wear the landreth 4s and was happy with those so I bought the 5s. At first they felt good, but after a couple weeks, I could feel the pavement after my second mile.

I love these shoes so much that I bought 2 pairs to alternate days with them. I trained and ran a 1/2 marathon in them with no problems. Now, I'm back to buy 2 more pairs. They've held up very well under significant mileage.

Great shoe! It's my first pair of Asics and so far I love them. They've held up to some considerable mileage so the quality is top-notch. Will definitely purchase another Asics shoe in the future.

Loved these and felt they held up nicely under significant mileage. Great value on sale. I'm repurchasing the same pair. I used them with the Superfeet insoles.

Horrible mess of a shoe. Stiff. No cushioning. Felt like boats on a my feet. Clunky too.

Just changed from the 2140 over to this shoe and I love it. Really liked the 2130 but the change to 2140 was not good. The Landreth 5 makes 10 miles seem like nothing. Might need more cushioning for 15 and up miles.

Very stiff in the heel area. The heel cup rubbed my heel and made it very sore. A stiff shoe. I am going back to my standby the mizuno wave riders.

I've been wearing Landreth for almost two years. The plum color didn't get a lot of points w/me and it did feel bulkier than the previous version. I tried NB during that time and got a severe case of Plantar Fasciitis and purchased the plum color and I'm almost healed. This is a very good shoe.

I loved the Landreth 3 + 4 but am very dissapointed in the Landreth 5. The cushioning and sole seemed to wear out instantly (<60 miles). I've returned to wearing my *old* Landreth 4's that I was going to retire when I bought this pair of 5's!

Thu, April 09,2009:
I am borderline neutral/stability, so finding the right shoe can be complicated. My first running shoe was a landreth and after going through Planter Fasciitis with other Asics shoes I have returned to them. They feel bulkier, but they have allowed me to resume 35+ mile weeks.

I did not like the 4 at all. In fact, I got plantar fasciitis after wearing the 4. I switched shoes and it went away. I have been wearing the 5 for about a month and so far so good.

I loved my Landreth 4. I am kind of disappointed with the Landreth 5. I ordered the same size 5 1/2 and I thought the Landreth 5 was about 1/2 inch bigger. Now I have to go and exchange it for the 5. Hopefully that would fix the problem. Wish they still have the Landreth 4.

I think the 4 was the best version of this shoe. That said, the 5 is very good, and a much better shoe for my feet and frame than most other shoes. Lightweight, flexible, but enough cushioning for longer runs. I hope the Landreth is a shoe that ASICS keeps in it's line-up for a long time.

I have to disagree with Jean. I loved the Landreth 4, but my heels are slipping in the 5, and it feels a little clunkier. Not a good update in my opinion.

I loved the Landreth 3, but was very disappointed with the 4. I am very happy with the 5. Good fit and comfortable.
