I used orthotic inserts for my flat feet and these shoes have been perfect. They are fast, lightweight, and comfy. I'm a size 11 and I haven't had problems with loosing my toenails. because my feet don't slide forward.

I'm on my 15th pair of Gel DS Trainers. I don't think I'll ever need a different running shoe, unless this one is discontinued (unthinkable!!). They are a great shoe for road running and endurance training. Great traction in the rain and snow, as well. They are light weight and durable, and they provide good support and stability. As with most running shoes, I need to order 1/2 size up.

I have ran in older versions of this shoe, but this is the best one so far. I bought these as a second shoe. My primary shoes are the 3010's (which I also recommend). The DS trainer is a bit too light and unstructured for me to wear all the time, but for weekely fast runs, they are great. I feel like I can fly with these shoes, and my times don't lie. They are fast. If you're looking for a good shoe for speedwork and racing, this is it.

I am so sad they are discontinuing this shoe. I have been running for about 6 years and have never found a better long distance shoe. I just bought 3 pairs to have on hold because i am just not ready to give them up.

I was disapointed with this shoe, I am a racewalker and have always had the Gel DS trainer. I don't know whay they did but this shoe is alot stiffer then in the past! I sold them to a friend and she had the same problem, she now is wearing them just as every day shoes but not to run are racewalk in!

These shoes ROCK! I was a little skeptical at first but decided to give them a try for racing and sprint workouts. I like them so much I wear them on my longer runs and am going to get a 2nd pair. The color is also a plus, love the pink!

After receiving my new DStrainers I expected to feel the same lightness but instead my legs tired quite easily. I have run in DS Trainers from the start and I was truly disappointed with the increase in weight. I hope someone will relate this to Asics and return the good ole shoe it is meant to be----the lightest shoe. Thanks

It is a shame they discontinued this shoe! It is really the best running shoe I ever wore since day one!! No need to get "used to it"... I'm very sad we are not gonna be able to get anymore!!!

It's been 7 years since I bought a new pair of DS Trainers. The shoe has changed in some aspects, in others it's the same. Overall, I am quite pleased!
The biggest issue I have is the size of the toe box. I have long, thin feet, and I feel like my toes have a bit too much room without thicker socks.
I am pleased with the breathe-ability of the shoe. The light weight combined with cushion is great. I use this shoe for running and aerobics classes.

PLEASE don't discontinue this shoe! This is THE best DS trainer they have made so far. My feet are so happy in them. LOVE LOVE LOVE this shoe!

I have run in Asic Gel trainers for many,many years. Loved the versatility of the shoe. Could not find anything to replace it. Then, Asics went and created the trainer 12. Horrible model!
I was hesitant to try the 13 model. It was an improvment on the 12, but I never really liked. It ran very small, made my foot sweat (which only occured in this model sneaker), shoe felt hard.
Thankfully, the 14's are the closest I can remember models previous to anything before the 12's. Thank you GoRun, it was your review that made me try the 14.
so far, these have worked out well. Just took a chance running a very hilly 10miler in these and no issues, feet fine after the race.
As for color, well, I'll take white/pink over that awful orange!

To all Asics fans, they did this one right. Even Asics had to know the DS 13-trainers were terrible-they discontinued them early. These are perfect trainers-cushioned and light and no crushed forefoot. They're like maybe the old DS 10s or 11s(can't remember). I just hope to see another color besides baby pink soon, yahhh! Size up only 1/2, not 1 like the DS13s...

I have always loved the ds trainer. This version is slightly heavier and tighter in the forefoot then the 12's but with more cushion(didn't like the 13's) I did a 14 mile training run this past weekend and my nueroma flared up like never before. Will continue to us these for shorter runs, but found a new pair of 12's in my size for races and longer runs.

I love these shoes! After spending several months running on the treadmill I knew I needed to head back outside and these shoes gave me all the support, cushion and stability I needed. Can't wait for them to go on sale so I can pick up another pair.

Sorry but I have to disagree with most of these reviews. I returned these after a week. I have worn DS trainers as long as Asics has made them and these ARE not what I expect the shoe to be - a lightweight, flexible trainer. Why they increased the weight from 7.5 ounces in the 13's to 8.7 on the 14's I'll never know. They are WAY too much shoe for me. Cushy, yes. Lightweight, no.

omg! this is as close as you can get to the 11s as possiable. when the 12s came out, i went on line and bought all the leftover 11s in my size. had one pair left when the 13s came out. ran in them till there was a hole in the sole. i put these on, and it was like my old 11s!!! love love love!!!!!!!! and boy can i runwith these!
