I REVISE my previous post! After running in these a few more times, these have given me awful shin splints & ankle pain after just a couple runs at a 8.5 min mile pace. I didnt notice it as much at a slower pace. Also, I noticed that the fit around my ankle isnt as snug as my 10's & maybe that has something to do w/ it. Needless to say, I am going back to my Nimbus 10's! FYI- I agree w/ above poster that composition of a runner matters- I am 5'3, 110 lbs, and run about 15-20 miles/week. Hope that helps.

These shoes are OK. . definitely not the Nimbus 10s - my favorite. The 11's took longer to break in. I'm disappointed that I had to give up the 10s and I'm looking for something comparable.

This is my 3rd pair of Nimbus'. I loved the NImbus-10 so much I had 2 pair, & have to say I love the 11 just as well. I don't think they run small, however, as the toe box is bigger than the Nimbus-10 & so they feel a little bigger to me actually. I wear an 8.5 in everything & the 8.5 in these are what I purchased.

Ran my first half marathon in these with hard orthotics and got through it. Continue to train in these, and every time I've switched (other than flats for 5K races), I start to get the recurring pains. Bottom line, these shoes keep working for me when others don't seem to. Only thing, I am following the PT's advice to have 2 pairs, one only for training and one only for wearing all other times, because walking wears them down in different ways, and much more quickly. I've found I have to replace the shoes I walk in every 2 months, or if I get lazy and don't switch my orthotics out of the running shoes into the walking ones. Great neutral, cushioned just enough shoes. Even though it is light relative to other shoes, would love to see it a little lighter. I'm sure that will happen as technology gets even better.

These are the most comfortable shoes I've ever owned. I feel like I'm walking/running on a cloud. They seem to improve my posture. I'm an under pronator and these shoes are great for me. They seem to run a 1/2 size small so I ordered a 1/2 size larger than normal and they fit like a glove!

Absolutely love this shoe...ran a full marathon in them 10/09 and had no difficulites. Will buy this shoe again! Best support and cushion balance I've ever experienced

Absolutely love the sneakers! I have been in the army for 13 years and when its time to run I dread it. However, with these sneakers I am able to keep running with no chin splints, no back pain and no knee pain. Hoping to do a half-marathon by April.

I absolutely love the Asics Gel Nimbus 11 shoes!! I have a flat, slightly wide foot and these shoes are wonderful! I'm overweight and wanted to invest in a great all around shoe for work (I'm a nurse) and I've recently started A workout regime, and I had bought another shoe (different brand) before this and was not happy, I returned them and tried on every Asics, since they were highly recommended by several people, this is the shoe for me! I have plantar fascitis, and these shoes are amazingly comfortable! I'm not a runner (yet), but I am on my feet ALL day! I have already recommended these shoes to several people.

Bought them yesterday, ran 6 miles on the treadmill and will be returning them. I have a wide forefoot and at 18 minutes, the joint at my big toe was screaming in pain. But it did fit my narrow heel and the cushioning was nice for my high arches. Put on my old Nike Pegasus and no pain after 25 minutes (except for anterior ankle pain that was the reason I had to stop wearing these).

Tue, November 03,2009:
The cushion in this shoe is very nice and they are quite comfortable. They NEED to be broken in, as for the first 20+ miles they just seem too cushy and I can see how other runners may be apt to put them aside. They do wear out quite fast and are not really that durable especially if you run on roads and trails often. I am not sure why Asics decided to "improve" the Nimbus 10, but the 11 is not the shoe the Nimbus 10 once was. Also, the lacing system on the 11 is kind of uncomfortable on top of the foot and actually caused me to develop a cyst on my tendon from irritation (and probably all of the miles logged too).

The 10s had better cushioning, especially forefoot. Both wear out way to soon, and I only run 20--25 miles a week. Switched to Nike Zoom Vomero=4 which has great cushioning an terrible fit. The arches are not right. I wish someone would come up with a shoe with good cushioning +durability+fit

This is a great shoe for marathon training. It has wonderful forefoot cushioning but it's firm enough to be supportive. I recommend it to someone who is neutral but needs just a little bit of stability. I also use Green Superfeet with these shoes.

I run over 40+ miles a week in this shoe and its been able to hold out great the last 4 months. I only had them for a week before my last marathon and never had blisters and ran a personal record. They are light and super comfortable...I highly recommend them.

These shoes are so comfortable. I am not a runner but find these to be the most comfortable shoes to walk and train in that I have ever owned. For anyone who has foot issues, I would highly recommend them.

I have been running in these shoes for 3 1/2 months While it is true that this are very comfortable out of the box, they are not very durable. I bought these to train and run in a half marathon and within 3 1/2 months there is a whole in the toe. I run only ~ 20-25 miles a week.

WOW I LOVE these shoes. I had been a New Balance fan for years and switched to these after the RR fitting. I have not been able to run for quite some time and with these I am back! Great cushioning for my feet, works great with my orthodic and I love the offset laces. I use a pair for work all day on carpeted concrete and much less leg fatique. Plan to buy another pair as well. Thanks RR for the great service!

These shoes are AMAZING! They are the second pair that I've had from the 'Nimbus' family.. I've had Kayano before, but these are definitely off the charts. No breaking-in required..they fit like a glove. Love them. Highly recommended!!

Thu, September 03,2009:
On the contrary to other reviews, this Asics shoe is more narrow than the others I have run on in the past. In fact, the slight narrowness of the toe is my only complaint. Otherwise, I am quite pleased with these shoes, and would buy another pair. They are still wearing well after 100 miles, and I plan to wear them for many more.

My third pair of Gel-Nimbus, but very disappointed on this pair, cannot run over three miles without my feet hurting, the cushioning is more on the back of the shoes not much in front.

I went from the Cumulus to these for the extra cushioning for distance running. These feel awful. My heel feels off centered, not nearly enough arch, and there is way too much toe room.

Wed, August 19,2009:
The cushioning was ok-it was the large toe area that didn't work for me! Nimbus 10's were slightly too narrow- (causing blisters)-yet the 11's are too wide! The arch on my left foot felt wierd after running 3 miles, and by the 5th mile, 2 of my toes were numb. Needless to say, they went back!

These shoes are a big disappointment. They have no support and don't come close the the Nimbus 10s. Both my knees started hurting and I have to find another pair of shoes now.

This is the third pair of Gel-Nimbus shoes I've bought and I'm disappointed in this pair. Although comfortable, they are much less supportive than my previous 2 pairs. When I need a new pair of shoes, I will look for another style or brand for more rigid support

UPDATE: I have now logged 300 miles in these shoes and I love them. I want to buy 10 pairs, because I just know they are going to change these on me. I use them with my custom orthotics. These still look as good and feel as supportive as they did 300 miles ago.

Asics shoes are amazing...for my daily workout routine combined with running, my feet feel still rested, and I have limited my injuries. They give a great support and flexibility, while still providing a great protection.

I run six miles every day (57 years old, 120 LBS). First run on these shoes aggravated an old IT band injury which had been just fine with the Nimbus 10s. I'm going back to Nimbus 10 (if I can find any). It appears that they gave up support for "softness". Hey, ASICs - how about leaving your old models on the market if you insist on such dramatic (and often for the worse) changes???

I loved these shoes for about a month/80 miles...now the cushioning is GONE! For $125 they should still feel like a dream. When I first bought them they were like running on pillows. Don't know what happened.

This shoe is aptly named. It's like walking/running on an air cushion and I've searched a long time to be able to say that!

This is my favorite of all shoes. You can run marathon's in them, they give you all the protection you need, but they are very light. And for a cushioned shoe, I never found a better 'ride' except maybe the original Landreths.

This is my first ASICS and I can't believe I waited so long. These are superior to all the other shoes I've tried (Nike, Saucony, Adidas). I have high arches and a lot of miles (8 milers during the week and 10-12 miles on weekends). I have a small-medium frame (125 lbs/ 5'2"). All my joint and back pain has disappeared since I switched to these shoes. Nimbus 11 rocks!

I've been a wearer of the Gel Nimbus for a long time. I use an insole for extra cushion (which I use for most of my running shoes) and bought this shoe an entire size up. It seems they fit me a lot smaller than past Gel Nimbus versions. I'm glad the overlays of the Gel Nimbus 10s are gone, especially around the big toe, which caused blisters and toenail problems.

I have never tried the Nimbus 10, but I have SUPER sensitive forefeet, and I LOVE these shoes for my marathon training. I have a Cumulus-10 as well, and they do not compare (of course they are cheaper, too). I guess I should get a pair of Nimbus 10's if they are better than these, because the 11's are the best sneakers I've ever had!

This shoe let me down.It lacks the forefoot cushioning of the Nimbus 10.I will not buy another pair, and after one run,I went back to my old Nombus 10's.As A 55yr old distance runner, cushioning is a priority!

Wed, May 13,2009:
Very disappointed in this shoe. Not as cushioned as the Nimbus 10, especially in the forefoot area. Ascis says the the women's version is softer, must be on top of the shoe because it certainly is not softer underneath your foot. If you want Asics Nimbus shoes, buy the Nimbus 10 while you can and hope they go back to the drawing board for the Nimbus 12.

Sun, May 03,2009:
These are so much more comfortable than the GEL-Nimbus 10s. The overlay on the top of the old shoe is now gone, and the whole shoe is softer with no rubbing points. I only hope it is cushioned enough, because I could feel pressure on the ball of my foot that I hadn't been feeling with the clunkier 10s. These are also much better looking than the 10s!
