Excellent shoe right out of the box. I walked in them for about an hour then decided they were so comfortable I take them for a run.
Five (5) miles later I wondered where the time went. I forgot how easy it was to run and just relax. Great shoes, great cushion and support.

Fit is better, less narrow than the evolution 4 and the solyte midsole seems softer so the ride is less hard. Heel is very rigid but forefoot is more flexible than most mc shoes. Good mc shoe for those who need maximum rearfoot control but who have an arch and want the more flexible forefoot-feel of a stability shoe.

These feel good at first but after a long run you feel like you are running plainly on the road. The feel is too stiff, and the shoe provides very little cushioning. I will try with some insoles and see how it goes.

Based solely on Fit I have to give it a 3 I wear 11 1/2 or 12 D or EE in street shoes , most all of my running shoes are 12 EE and I have plenty of room , because of the comments that this shoe runs small/ narrow I ordered 12 1/2 EEEE , guess what ... even these are too narrow - especially in the mid-foot! WTH is Asics Thinking ? It's a shame because it's the type of shoe I need , very supportive but not overly controlling like the very Straight lasted shoes like the Beast,Stabil, Addiction .etc. I am 6'2 230 lbs. been running almost 10 years.

I just purchased these and so far I love the feel. The back of the shoe holds my foot so that I do not pronate. I am curious to take these on my long run on Saturday to see how they feel.

Im a very avid runner and in great shape and these shoes cured my knee pain but now suffering from severe shin splints. Never knew what shin splints were until i ran in these shoes. I will stick to New Balance.

I recently decided to take up jogging to loose weight. I ran for two weeks in cheap shoes from walmart and developed a posterier shin splint in my left leg. I did a lot of research to find out what was happening, that's when I learned I am an overpronator. I bought these shoes to rememdy that, and ran for the first time with em last night. It was great - a complete and total improvement over the other shoes. I was so comfortable the whole time, and it felt very smooth. I don't know why people say the weight is a problem, they're very light to me - of course I wear steel toe boots all day at work. I highly recommend this shoe for people with low arches.

I just bought these evo 5's and have to say that they get more comfortable every time I wear them. I recearched my foot type and ended up needing the motion control because of my flat feet. They look great and have ALOT of cushion considering they are MC.

I've always respected Asics for making some of the best models out there. However, the heel/arch area of this MC shoe is so weird (bumpy & narrow), uncomfortable, and stiff that I couldn't go for it. The Kayano fits a lot better but isn't an MC shoe. I went with the Brooks Beast which has proven to be a revelation in comfort and MC for my ailing flat feet.

I have run in all the versions of the Evolution. This one is way softer than Evo.4, and the toebox is wider. I am trying to figure out if I like the more solid toe off of the 4 or the softer toe off of the 5. The fit is fantastic though, and the Evolution I think is the best MC shoe out there now.
