Comments about Mens ASICS GEL-Kayano 16 Running Shoe: I don' think the 3.5 ratings are deserved. This is the hands-down best running shoe that I have ever had. It does have a couple of problems (what shoe doesn't), but let me tell you .. I have tried other shoes and by far the Kayano's have been the best.

Comments about Mens ASICS GEL-Kayano 16 Running Shoe: I am a 205 pound runner and average about 25-30 miles per week. I was a big fan of the Gel Nimbus series until they changed the design a couple of years ago. I have been in constant search of "my shoe" since. I am not a fast runner (4:30 marathon) and am almost 50 years old, so I am looking for a shoe that will not injure me and allow me to keep on running.

Comments about Mens ASICS GEL-Kayano 16 Running Shoe: I'm a retired U.S. Marine living in the New Mexico Desert. The Asics Gel Kayano 16 is a versatile shoe and transitions well between pavement and dirt/rocky sides of the road. I'm a heavy runner, 72" tall and 224lbs and I run on average 19 miles a week. This shoe provides awesome support, comfort and is very durable. I especially like the "feel" of the gel cushion, especially when running on the side of the road. The shoes are light and very fast! I haven't found too many things that are not great about this shoe. The shoe sizing is right on. If you are a heavy runner like me and need great support from your running shoes, then you won't go wrong in purchasing a pair of Asics Gel Kayano 16's. Semper Fi,

Comments about Mens ASICS GEL-Kayano 16 Running Shoe: I bought my first pair of Kayano's 2 years ago (Kayano 15). A great shoe which literally eradicated my Plantar Fasciatis in just a few weeks. However I found the Kayano 15 to be a bit narrow & tight & Plantar surface of my feet would ache after a 10+ mile run.

Comments about Mens ASICS GEL-Kayano 16 Running Shoe: I run a lot of miles in Colorado on both paved trails and mountain trails. The Kayano is an excellent shoe as the forefoot cushioning is fantastic and gets better as it breaks in. I love the fact that it is light enough for speed work and doesn't pound your knees and hips on the long runs. The shoe breathes well on the humid days to keep your feet dry. If you run 50-70 miles a week this is a great shoe to use. If you wear inserts they work in the shoe very well. I rotate this shoe with a pair of New Balance shoes and by doing this every run is great!Try the Kayano you will not be disappointed and if you are returning from an injury this is the shoe to switch too.

Comments about Mens ASICS GEL-Kayano 16 Running Shoe: I'm a 54 y/o male whose been running for 9+ years, and ran my first marathon at 50. I'm not a small guy (6 ft, 175 lbs) My feet have been described as, "shaped like canoe paddles", narrow heels and a fairly wide forefoot. Oh, yeah, and they're size 14. Usually when I go out it's for 8-12 miles, 35-40 miles a week. It used to be more, but a new job has cut into running time. I've been going through 1-2 pair of Keyanos since the XI. I've like most of them (except the truly abyssmal XIII which caused my brief daliance with Brooks)and have been what one would term a loyal ASICS customer. The XVI is the first and only shoe from ASICS, or anyone else for that matter, that felt great right out of the box. I also broke my cardinal rule and ran last week's Maine marathon after only 50 miles on the shoes. Normally it's 100 miles or more. I pleased to say that there was nary a twitch or twinge during or post-race. I can see this shoe becoming a "classic" that I'll buy year after year.

Comments about Mens ASICS GEL-Kayano 16 Running Shoe: I'm an ex triathlete/ultra guy. Had to quit running due to ortho doc's orders, multiple knee surgeries (football, rugby, etc. in earlier years). At 60 years and 6'2", 240, I still love to get out and walk every day, and these Kayanos do the job better than anything else I've found, including NB, Adidas, Brooks and Nike. I did about 80 miles a week when I was training for "Team Clydesdale" back in the day! Been an RRS fan since 1983 or so.

Comments about Mens ASICS GEL-Kayano 16 Running Shoe: I am a Marine, so I run more than average, but probably not as much as die-hard runners. I a little over 200 lbs so in the running world I'm huge. These shoes hold up extremely well and provide me with plenty of support and cushioning while I run. My first pair of Kayanos were the 15 model and I don't think I can ever run in anything else. I love these shoes.

Comments about Mens ASICS GEL-Kayano 16 Running Shoe: I have been training for a marathon using the ASICS Gel Kayano. I was completely satisfied with my ASICS but allowed someone to convince me to try a pair of MIZUNO Nirvanas. After a few runs in the MIZUNOs I began to develop pain in my arches. I will be returning the MIZUNOs and purchasing another pair of ASICS Gel Kayanos. I would strongly recommend the ASICS Gel Kayanos to all heavy framed runners with low arches. These shoes provide a snug, comfortable fit, with lots of cushioning and support. From here on out, I'm sticking to the bASICS.

Comments about Mens ASICS GEL-Kayano 16 Running Shoe: I have been buying Asics Kayano for over 10 years as well as have experienced the revolution in style while adding the latest in technology of this particular running shoe. Overall it is a wonderful running shoe. This shoe has to be ordered ½ to 1 size up. It may feel slightly tight when trying it for the first time. Traction is great and it is breathable. I remember the first time I purchased Asics Kayano I felt I was bouncing results of the gel technology.

Comments about Mens ASICS GEL-Kayano 16 Running Shoe: Upgraded from the Asics 2140, ran in 2130, 2120, 2110. Kayano 16 a big upgrade. I am a pronator and this shoe offers the best structure/stability of any shoe on the market but with decent cushion and excellent shock absorption. A little heavier than the 2140 series, but well worth it for the extra stability and shock absorption. A must for marathon trainers who need stability! Only shoe on the market with similar stability is the Mizuno Nirvana 6, but you love or hate these shoes. Nirvana 6's offered excellent stability, but they had the feel of running on 2 bricks (awefully stiff ride...beware). I'm sold on Kayano's, I'm going to be a long customer of these. P.S. I've logged 4 months of running on these shoes (run around 30 miles a week). They feel great! Only complaint is that sole wears quickly, but so did all of the other asics I've run in (2110, 2120, 2130, 2140).

Comments about Mens ASICS GEL-Kayano 16 Running Shoe: I'm a noob to running. I've only been running since November 2009, but I run 30 to 40 miles a week. These Asics were recommended by Shoedog and were great. All the previous problems I encountered (shin splints, foot pain, calf pain) disappeared. I have about 325 miles on them and they have begun to show enough wear that I had to get new shoes. I can't comment on "toebox" or "motion control" or any of the other things the pros do, because I have no idea what they're talking about. I enjoyed running in these very much.
Comments about Mens ASICS GEL-Kayano 16 Running Shoe: I agree completly with Mitchells rating on Tuesday Jan 5, 2010. The forefoot cushion and the rearfoot cushion is less. I have used them for 10 years and I hate to leave them. I will be looking elsewhere. I am mad at the person who made them lighter and sacrificed cushion. The new laceup is unimportant. Why do you keep messing with good shoes? Comments about Mens ASICS GEL-Kayano 16 Running Shoe: Disappointed in this shoe. I've run solely in Kayano for the last 12 years and have loved everyone.... except this one. The lacing are different and really hurt my left foot. Hurts over my left big toe and big toe tendon running down my foot. I'm now looking for a different shoe but at $130 that is not easy to do. Comments about Mens ASICS GEL-Kayano 16 Running Shoe: I've run in model after model of the Kayano without a hitch but this one disappoints. There are pressure points across the instep and bunion area that various lacing techniques couldn't eliminate. I switched to the Nike Volmero 4 and couldn't be happier. I'm 6'1", 185 lbs. Comments about Mens ASICS GEL-Kayano 16 Running Shoe: My shoes came in today. After a 3 miler, for me, the perfect blend of cushioning and support. The change in the upper overlay (toe area) and the lower heel are definite improvements. The heel does not come up as high on your ankle and the overlay change gives more comfortable feeling in the upper. Comments about Mens ASICS GEL-Kayano 16 Running Shoe: Wow ! Have you ever actually run in the shoe? The lacing system looks a little different, thing is, it really works. Run in it, you'll love it. Comments about Mens ASICS GEL-Kayano 16 Running Shoe: Nice cushion and ride esp in the forefoot but asics seems to fit bigger than other shoes as I had blisters on the inside edge of my heels in 3 miles. I've never had this in any shoes even if they were slightly roomy and this is with a double layer sock. The base of the laces pucker to snug up the shoe (too wide) and the 2150 is also wide in the forefoot too. Don't understand as I've worn almost every version of these two shoes since they came out. Asics please bring back the fit of the kayano 8 or 10 as they were perfect for18 miles out of the box and never had blisters on the inner edges of my heels.
