These are lightweight and responsive. I use them for races only. I have HIGH arches and feel like I can never get enough cushioning, and even though I wouldn't describe them as having tons of arch-support or arch cushioning (like cumulus' that I wear), they are perfect for faster runs and do not feel like they are lacking cushioning. I have worn them very comfortably during half-marathons, and plan to wear them for the first time during my marathon this weekend. I have never worn them for that long of a distance but I'll report back afterward about how they feel! I typically run 40-50 mpw, am 5'8", 130lbs.

LOVE this shoe! I am a runner that has battled under pronation and all the aches and pains that come along with it. This shoe has made my runs more smooth and me more fast! Highly recommend it and wish that I had bought more pairs before it became endangered or should I say extinct?

I was in need of new shoes between marathons. I ran a marathon with these after running with them for 1.5 week. My previous pains/issues from my other shoes were gone but the lacing of the speedstar seem to be a bit awkward. The tops of my feet felt tight and restricted. I ended up having pain on the top of my left foot (nerve entrapment, I believe it was called) during/after the marathon. I've since walked and jogged with them but had to really loosen the laces, which made me feel like my feet were slipping too much. It also feels like it needs more arch support. I do like the light weight and the flexibility of the shoes.

Would highly recommend this shoe. I am a middle distance runner and this shoe is perfect. I run on some treadmill, some pavement, some non-technical trails. It is light, comfortable, good support, fits the foot perfect. I absolutely love it and would buy it a million times over.

I have been running for about 15 years and run about 30 mile a week when not training. I have used the Asics DS trainier for years but was recently convinced to try the Speedstar, and I have not been dissapointed. This is a great light weight shoe that feels real comfortable while running on the road and running paths. If you don't pronate then this is the shoe for you.

I was a little worried at first because I didn't feel like there was much arch support but once I tried them they felt great. Responsive, quick, and comfortable. I hope they don't wear out to quickly, I'm thinking I may order another pair.

So far this shoe is working well for me. I have a high arch and have has stress fractures, so was a little concerned when I first put the shoes on and didn't feel like there was much arch support. But when I tried running in them, then they felt great and very responsive, allowed me to quickly take each stride and the shoe seems to conform well to the foot when in action. It's light, quick, and so far i really like it. May have to order another pair.

If you are searching for a versatile shoe that is lightweight and flexible, look no further. Asics has always been a reliable company when it comes to making durable, high quality running shoes. But they brought it to a new level with the Speedstar 4. This shoe is very light weight yet it provides plenty of cushion and support. By comparison traditional athletic shoes feel bulky and inflexible. The Speedstar is now the standard by which all my other shoes will be compared. While the shoes are white, they wash well. My only suggestion for improvement would be to use a longer shoelace. I have gotten so much use out of these shoes I am now on my second pair.

I started wearing Asics a few years back, but I always got the Gel-Cumulus style. This year I'm training for XC, so I wanted a lighter shoe to increase my speed. I decided to try these because I love Asics and they're much lighter than the Gel-Cumulus. As always, Asics didn't disappoint. These shoes are extremely comfortable and perfect for my high arches. I would recommend these shoes to everyone!

these shoes are great for track workouts and races up to half marathon. they are lightweight, breathable and have a very flexible forefoot which makes for a great fast shoe. great right out of the box. if you have a wide forefoot you may want to choose a wider width if possible.

I switched to these shoes from the ASICS Nimbus as a result of changing my running to the Pose Method. They feel great and I have increased my speed significantly. I run six miles a day. ASICS needs to put in a longer lace, however (I got some of the no-slip laces - they work great).

I love this new updated version of the ASICS Gel-Speedstar. This is the 9th time I have ordered this shoe.

These shoes are great for faster running like tempos and races. These shoes make any other shoe seem bulky. The asymmetric lacing looks weird but is really comfy.

I run 4-5 days a week and am training for my 3rd full marathon in a year and was looking for a lightweight shoe to use with speed training and racing....this show is GREAT! They are so comfortable! I haven't been on any long runs with them yet but I think they would do just fine. I really like the lacing on these shoes too! I guess the only con would be that the styling is a little different than your normal asic shoe but the comfort far outweighs that!

Wore this shoe for a hilly 15 miler straight out of the box- it felt great! Plenty of toe room, no blisters, very light & fast, but great cushioning for a 7.3 oz. shoe. This will be my go-to trainer!
