The Cumulus 11 was my favorite shoe, until the 12 came out. Still has the soft arch support, but with softer cushioning. This makes the shoe very quiet, without any slapping sound. Ran a half marathon today and the shoe was perfect.

So I'll take the understated approach and say that use of these shoes over the last month or so has been like running on an angels whisper through open fields in a world without war or disease. My former pair, near and dear as they were to my heart, had seen better days and upgrading to these was like moving from a war torn nation to Cinderella's castle. Upon first wear they hug your feet like a long lost love, and the embrace endures. Cushioning? Legit. Lightness? Like they weren't ever there. I kid you not, they even smell like fresh baked cookies after a 20 mile run. I can see, directly below me, that the question is whether or not I would recommend them to a friend. Silly question, as of course I would, and beyond that I would give serious consideration to aborting any and all friendships I have with individuals who don't own this shoe. Order this shoe. Now.

This is my second pair of these shoes; I bought my first pair with the hope that they would help me get back into running after switching to other activities several years ago due to knee discomfort. At the same time I bought these shoes, I also began working on improving my running form, so I can't give all the credit to the shoes, but I can say that they have been an important part of enabling me to train for my first marathon and have fun doing it.

In a nutshell, I can put these shoes on and forget about them. The fit is great, there are no rubbing spots, and they feel very light and breathable. I can't say much about durability yet, but I have run over 100 miles in them with no signs of excessive wear.

My only negative experience was with the first pair I bought from a local running store. There was a pressure point where a seam was thicker than normal. Fortunately their exchange policy allowed me to get another pair, and those performed so well I bought a second pair - but this time for a much better price from RoadRunner.

This is a great shoe. I'm 154lbs, slender build with neutral arches and do not over pronate. This shoe looks good, feels great, and offers alot of soft cushioning for your feet. I would definatly recommend this shoe to anyone that fits that profile.

I ordered these running shoes for my 14 year old son - his first pair of running shoes. Up till now he, and all his friends, have only worn basketball shoes. Watching him slip into these was literally and eye opening experience for him - he's a typical 14 year old, tough to impress, kid. He loves these shoes. Well, he has begun running in them, at least 3 miles every night since they arrived. He can't get over the comfort, support and quality of the shoe.

I agree with him - I've got the same pair of running shoes and I run 35 miles a week and I've been running for 33 years! A very high quality shoe.

Been running in Cumulus series since it's inception. For my feet the Cumulus 10's had the most support. 11's not much different, but they
revamped the upper and lacing system on this shoe where I can hardly gather enough lace to tie them up without having to skip an eyelet.

Had to add the new Cumulas 12's into the shoe rotation - right next to the Cumulas 9's, 10's and 11's - Love this shoe!

The Cumulus has been my shoe for more than a decade (9 different models of the Cumulus have been on my feet). Colors and design may change over the years but what I most value is the consistency in fit and performance. It's a great shoe!

i am the first reviewer and very delighted to let you you know guys this cumulus 12 is very very comfortable, i play vollyball twice a week and when i jump there is no impact on my knees because i got knees problem and i can move fast with this shoe

I've been training for the San Diego marathon in June. My schedule called for me to increase my milage pretty significantly over the 3 or 4 mile runs I was accustomed to. I was running in the Brooks Ravennas, but probably didn't need a stability shoe. I was starting to feel some pain in my foot (in the joints of my toes and across the top of the foot). I was also experiencing some IT band pain on my long runs. So, I switched to these Asics hoping that a change in shoe would help the problems. Unfortunately, the pain did not go away, but the shoes are very comfortable and really absorb a lot of the pounding that my knees and feet take. So far, I like the comfort and cushioning these shoes provide.

This is the second pair of Cumulus 12 that I have bought (been using) this year. I am a 195 lb runner that religiously does 4-5 miles per day. The Cumulus 12 is a very well cushioned, comfortable shoe (as I am a "heavier" runner). I have put on about 600 miles on the first pair and they still feel and perform as well as they did when I first slipped them on my feet! No complaints!!

Great shoe. Highly recommend this shoe for general running needs and excellent for road running. Very comfortable and now discontinued, so if you're going to buy it, you better hurry up.

I have used the ASICS Cumulus series off and on for many years as the "easy mileage" shoe in my rotation. I left it for awhile when I thought my feet needed a heavier cushioned shoe, and eventually returned to it. However, I use a light to medium cushioned trail shoe for longer runs both on and off road. Its best suited for easy distance or fun races, but not trail or off road on gravel, loose sand, etc.

I'm on my second pair of this shoe. After 275 miles on the first pair I decided it was time for a new pair of the same. I expected to really notice a difference the first time I ran in the new pair, but was surprised to see that the old pair held up so well that it was hard to tell the difference. I'll be going back for pair number three.

I suffer from plantar fasciitis. This was one of the few running shoes my Podiatrist recommended that would fit me. Its flexible, neutral, and has plenty of cushion. They work well with my orthodics. I love them as an everyday shoe and they are great for the gym and walking. I don't run anymore, but if I did I would wear these as well. I have a fairly low instep and narrow heal and they fit great.

I ran in the Gel Cumulus 11, also. When that pair died, I got it in my mind to try a couple of other brands. I'm sorry I wasted my own time. The Asics Gel Cumulus 12 is incomparable. I tried top of the line Pumas (Nightfox) and Brooks (Ghost 3) -- both of which produced considerable pain in my lower calf/achilles tendon region. As soon as I put on the Cumulus 12 and went for a run, not only was it like a ride in a Cadillac, the pain from my runs in those other shoes actually started to go away. By the end of my run, all pain was gone. These are the best shoes, by far. I am about 155 pounds, and training for triathlon. I used to play soccer professionally, so also occasionally have to baby some knee and hip twinges. These shoes absolutely take care of all my little aches and pains. The cushioning and fit are incredible. I am so glad that I returned to Asics!!
They are also good to go on the trail, and keep my feet very stable over uneven terrain. The outers are not exacty rugged, however.

I switched to the Cumulus-11 after getting metatarsalgia from running in Nike AirMax 180's. It feels like the contour of the footbed in the Cumulus 12 has added some padding in the forefoot, which created a small bump. This for me is in a spot that is too far back and initially was irritating, but is improving as the shoes break in. I didn't have this problem with the 11's.
