I love these shoes. My first pair of Speedstars were the model before these (4). I rotated them with another pair of lightweight shoes throughout marathon training (up to 43 miles/week). My guess is that many people would use these only for shorter, faster training runs and racing, but I use them for all kinds of training runs, including long runs (up to 20 miles). I just got the new model (5) -- in hot pink!! -- and I like them even better than the last ones. They feel even more lightweight, they fit around my foot snugly but not tightly, and I barely notice that they're there when I run. Highly recommended for anyone who likes a light shoe and has good running biomechanics.

I just received these yesterday and when I put them on with my normal running socks they were really too tight in the toe box. Just a very uncomfortable fit for me. I was really disappointed because these shoes are super light weight!!

I put these on, got on the treadmill and kept punching up the speed. I've gone faster in them every time I've gone out; I feel like I'm flying in these. First 5k in them, PR'd by 15 seconds. I have custom orthotics, and they fit really well in these shoes and don't make the shoes too heavy. Only problem is that one of the lace loop/holders detached from the shoe after just my second run, which I hope is an aberration and not a sign these shoes won't hold up well.

I have been wearing a mild stability shoe as recommended by several running shoes stores and have never felt comfortable running until I bought this shoe! I am flat footed and slightly pronate but this shoe doesn't force me into an unnatural gate.

Was looking for a shoe to wear on the road in lieu of my Vibrams. These are lightweight, flexible, comfortable. Were broke in after only a few miles. Will likely replace the ties as they come undone easily even when tying a double knot. Only thing I am unsure about is how many miles I will be able to get out of them. I wear a narrow shoe so these are perfect for me; definitely not for a wide foot.

I use this shoe for long runs. I have used the Speedstar 2, the Speedstar 3, and the Speedstar 4, and run 4 Boston qualifiers in them. The Speedstar 5 is similar to the Speedstar 2 with its wide unobstructed toe box. The cushioning is adequate but far from mushy. This shoe is probably best for those who have a fore to mid foot strike, but heal cushioning is also adequate.

I have an "in-between" foot. What I mean by this is that my foot is narrow, but not too narrow, and my arc is also between arc measurements. So it's hit or miss when it comes to finding the right fit. These shoes are a great color combination, and reasonably comfortable. If I could lessen the width (and shoe lace length) and add some arc support, they'd be perfect.

When I got these shoes, I put them on and wasn't sure because they felt snug, but I walked around in them all day to try to break them in. The next day, I was running a 10K, and when I went to put on my Nike's, I just couldn't do it, they felt like bricks. So I put on my New Asics that hadn't been ran in yet and ran the 6.2 Miles. I cannot put my Nike's back on. I love how the Asics feel on my feet. They make excellent running shoes. I forget that I have them on when I'm running. I can totally feel the road under my feet and they're almost like having a second skin rather than big clunky running shoes. I will never go back to Nike again. I love these shoes and I show them to everyone. The light weight is awesome and everyone is surprised by how light they are. As soon as I got them out of the box, my 2 year old put them on and started running around the house in them. Of course they are too big for him, but they are light weight and he wears them more than I do. :)

I run in this pair of shoes almost every day. I am not a marathon runner by any means, but I do log a several miles each time. I have had these shoes for about 6 months and they are still as comfortable as when I bought them-and haven't broken down. I bought a back up pair for when these run out because I love them so much.

They are super light weight and have great cushion. I have plantar fascitis and low arch support so I wear inserts in my shoes, but other than that no complaints! Love these shoes in the hot pink. I get so many compliments (from guys and girls) when I wear them!

First ASICS I tried and they were not for me. I will need to go back to a Saucony which work better for me. After running 10 miles a couple of times my heels started to hurt so I had to return them. But they did force me to adjust my running form for the better to run comfortably in these which was a positive outcome.

This is my new favorite running shoe. I normally wear asics but this was my first time to try speedstar. I love how lightweight this shoe is a very cushiony. It's almost as if I'm running barefoot with little pillows on the ball and heel of my foot. Highly recommend! Be sure to order 1/2 size up.

Use on the track for interal sprinting, the gym, 3 to 5 mile road runs. I don't think there is anything this shoe isn't good for. The most light weight shoe I've ever worn but doesn't compromise comfort. The cushion is almost bouncy. Very breatheable and look good too. I would recommend this shoe to anyone. I actually bought two pairs. different colors of course.

This is my 3rd generation of the Speedstar series shoe. When I first started running I switched styles several times. Speedstar has proven great for me! It's lightweight, fits perfect, cost efficient, never had a blister, durable... lasts me many half marathons! I will definitely continue using Asics Speedstar.

I have bought several of the speedstar models from Asics. This version sticks with the lightweight and breathable aspects of prior shoes. The styling changes are significant, making them less wearable for everyday use, but great for the gym. My main complaint is that the tongue is flimsy and small, so it can slump down under the laces at times. Also, it makes it difficult to keep the shoes on during certain cross training exercises. Overall, though, I am happy with the shoes and have bought several pairs.

Racing and track workouts. This is a fast shoe. Only one complaint. The the tongue sits a little differently than previous versions and rubs some. I blistered on top of my left 3rd and 4th metatarsal headsthe first time I wored them but I think this will be ok after a couple of runs and they break in a little.

I don't know if I really consider myself an "Avid Athlete" and I am not a Gym Rat because I run outside. But I run about 40-45 miles a week... I like these shoes because they are light weight. I use them for training and racing. I had the previous version and there seemed to be a little more shoe before. I feel like these may loosen a bit as I run. I have been wearing them for a couple of weeks and I am still trying to decide if I really like them or are they better just for racing...

I LOVED the Speedstar 3 series and was waiting for a 'look' that was comparable to that model (High standards of quality ; ). These are GREAT! They are very lightweight for speed training, or for me, low mileage training. These do feel a little wide for average feet and will require some creative lacing to secure. So far, great. I would consider getting a back-up pair.
