Comments about Womens ASICS GEL-Kayano 17 Running Shoe: I run road/asphalt 4-6 miles, 5 days per week. I choose to wear pillow insoles with these (actually with EVERY shoe since the Saucony Hurricane 7 because there will never be another like it), so the cushion could be a bit better for my taste. They felt really good for the first couple of months. One of my big toes hurt because of my bunion, so I bypassed that eyelet and was ok. A few weeks later,I started feeling sluggish - wasn't sure if it was me (I have periods of fatigue) or the shoe breaking down. Then I got a new pair of Nike Eschelons and it was CLEAR that the sluggishness was in the Asic. If you're younger (I'm 48) without a past that included overtraining (I'm wiser now too but still paying), they'll probably work for you.[...]

Comments about Womens ASICS GEL-Kayano 17 Running Shoe: I have been running in the Asics Kayano for 3 yrs (typically run between 16-25 miles per week). I started out in the Kayano 14 & loved them. Was not a fan at all of the 15 or 16...sent both of them back & bought all the 14's I could find when they were endangered. I love the 17. Much lighter, no break in period, & truly the best shoe I've ever run in (I've tried all kinds). I have terrible feet w/ Morton's neuromas in both. had surgery this past June for the left foot. Thought I'd never find the right shoe again. Thanks to Asics for making the perfect Kayano ever. Absolutely love the black...please keep making this color:)

Comments about Womens ASICS GEL-Kayano 17 Running Shoe: I have tried different running shoes and this is by far the best in fit and comfort. I run 20-30 miles a week and so far I haven't found one negative thing about the shoe. I especially love the offset lacing.

Comments about Womens ASICS GEL-Kayano 17 Running Shoe: My favorite running shoe of all time. Feels like putting on little pillows, yet stable and supportive. The top of the shoe is too thin and wore a hole pretty quickly. Also wish Kayanos came in darker background colors instead of white and lt. gray. But still my pick for a running shoe.

Comments about Womens ASICS GEL-Kayano 17 Running Shoe: I am an avid Runner who goes through at least six pair of Shoes in a year. I love the Asics Gel-Kayano 17, in fact I have run in the Gel-Kayanos for the past nine years and this model shoe is my all time favorite.

Comments about Womens ASICS GEL-Kayano 17 Running Shoe: the hurricane progrid 12 was too narrow and not comfortable and there was no alternative [...] - good choice - more comfortable and will try asics again in future

Comments about Womens ASICS GEL-Kayano 17 Running Shoe: This is my THIRD pair of KAYANO 17's! I average a new pair of running shoes every 5-6 months and for the past year and a half I have been running in these. This model has all the "bells and whistles" which, in my opinion, pay off in the end. When it comes to shoes, you get what you pay for and you can't beat the price that Road Runner offers. BUY THESE SHOES and you won't regret it!

Comments about Womens ASICS GEL-Kayano 17 Running Shoe: I have duck feet and it keeps my heel in place with plenty of wiggle room for my toes. Good support.

Best Uses Comments about Womens ASICS GEL-Kayano 17 Running Shoe: I am training for the Boston Marathon. I've been wearing the Kayanos for years. I love the way they feel, but even though I only run 3 days per week I need to replace them every 2 months...maybe 2.5 months. I tried the kinsei but they gave me shin splints and blisters on my arch. I like these, but after April I might look for an alternative.

Comments about Womens ASICS GEL-Kayano 17 Running Shoe: Feels comfortable but too big! I would buy a half size smaller than normal or a narrower width. I returned mine hoping that a 1/2 size smaller will do the trick.

Comments about Womens ASICS GEL-Kayano 17 Running Shoe: I have had many pairs of the Kayano shoe. The 17 is not my favorite. I really liked the 15/16 models a bit better. They still have cushioning but the toe box is definitely more narrow than the 15/16 models. They pinch a little at my toes and there is a little pain just standing in them. Ran a 10k in them and they were just ok. As far as stability, I think they are not a sturdy as the previous models- I am fairly inwardly pronated, 5'10" and 139# with moderate arches. I always use insoles from RRS and even so I can feel my outer calf muscle and knees straining. They dont adapt to terrain well. I would buy the Kayano 16 when it becomes endangered and save these for cardio classes at the gym.

Best Uses Comments about Womens ASICS GEL-Kayano 17 Running Shoe: I've been wearing Gel-Kayano's for at least a decade and every pair wears out pretty quickly in the inner ankle along the rim of the shoe, forming holes all the way thru to the outer leather. I still get these shoes (and am about to order another pair) b/c they're comfy but this issue does happen with every pair in a relatively short timeframe. I wish they'd fix this problem using better cushion materials or something since it's a pretty expensive shoe.

Comments about Womens ASICS GEL-Kayano 17 Running Shoe: I love these shoes and have been wearing GEL-Kayano for several years. My one consistent complaint is that the padding inside the back rim of the shoe -- around the ankle or upper heel area in the back -- wears out really quickly. The thin knit fabric wears through and forms holes and then the edge of the fabric pills and rolls so that it is uncomfortable. Can't ASICS fix this chronic problem?

Comments about Womens ASICS GEL-Kayano 17 Running Shoe: It took me awhile to find a shoe I liked and this is it. Recently I went to a Podiatrist because if issues with plantar fasciitis. The Podiatrist also commented that these are good shoes and she wears them herself.

Comments about Womens ASICS GEL-Kayano 17 Running Shoe: They say you get what you pay for, this definitely would apply to this shoe. It's a bit more expensive than most, but with all the extra cushioning and support, it's worth every penny. I've run 1/2 and a full marathons in these shoes with no fatigue at all. They're very lightweight, extremely comfortable.

Comments about Womens ASICS GEL-Kayano 17 Running Shoe: I wore the Kayano 16s for quite a while, then became smitten with the Newton brand. When that infatuation faded (couldn't run in them for more than 10 miles without extreme fatigue), I switched to the Kayano 17 because the 16s were too hard to find. It's a great shoe. I have none of the awful leg fatigue I was getting in my Newton Distance shoes, even on my 20 milers. However, my latest pair is only about 5 weeks old, but it feels almost completely worn out. I'm on here to get a new pair to wear for the Chicago Marathon in three weeks. This one seemed to wear out much faster than the 16s, which is a bummer for such a high-priced shoe.

Comments about Womens ASICS GEL-Kayano 17 Running Shoe: Love the cushioning of these shoes! As a runner of 28 years, I don't have alot of my own cushioning left on my feet - so these shoes make it possible for me to run without pain!
