When I put these shoes on I had to sigh - they are so comfortable! I told my trainer today it feels like my feet are encased in pillows. I have been suffering from a plantar fasciitis flare-up and am just starting to recover from it. I have low arches and I pronate. I tried these shoes on and could not believe how great they feel. To be safe, I am using a pf orthotic in them right now, but I felt like I could probably just use the inserts that came in them, and probably will switch if my heel pain doesn't return. These are seriously comfortable supportive shoes - the best running shoes I have worn in recent memory, maybe ever. I can't understand why anyone would think they are hard, unless maybe it's because of the motion control...and the bottoms are not real flexible. But that's a good thing for me as it helps prevent the fasciitis problemts.
I like the Cushy Comfort
These shoes offer great cushioning and support. I have a bunion and flat feet / no arch and have problems finding shoes that fit and don't hurt after wearing for several hours. I wear womens 10 or 10.5 and the 10.5 Asics fit well. These shoes are wonderful so far. I use these shoes for walking and going to the gym and use on ellipse. I prefer these shoes over my NB 1011. Also love the grey color and prefer grey shoes instead of nurse white.
These shoes are made in China and I am fed up with everything being made in China. I would love to purchase brands that are made in the USA even if they cost more.
Awesome, comfortable shoes!
This is an outstanding shoe that provides great arch support, pronation control and stability. I am on the heavier side and wear these shoes to the gym....lasting comfort and stability! Go Asics!
I have had arch issues for years, so my foot dr a few years back gave me a list of shoes to wear for road running and the gym for elip and treadmill. On the list was the Asics Foundation and Evolution. I had three versions of the Foundation and the Evolution came up on the Daily Treat..in a month, I knew I'd need them. I LOVE THEM..they are so comfortable..no issues with my running socks, or slipping side to side/forward or back. The last Foundation shoe I found tight across my left foot and was sometimes sore, but these were remarkable first time on the road then in the gym. I will definitely buy this model again. Also personally, I love the gray silver color..when they get wet, u cannot tell since it's not white. Also we have red clay down here and you cannot see that on the sides either.
I love it!
I used this shoes to run 5K for the Mermaid Run Series East Bay. I'm also going to use this to train for The Giant Race 5K run & San Jose Rock & Rock Half Marathon.

The best running sneaker I've ever tried
I bought these sneakers after trying on atleast 15 other pairs at a local running store. I supposedly have average arches, but I have wide feet and also overpronate. I use to have to wear orthotics in my sneakers but these sneakers have such great support that I don't need anything extra to help with the overpronation. I was beginning to think that I would never find a truely comfortable/supportive sneaker for running until I found these sneakers a month ago.
I am now training for my first half marathon and needed good quality sneakers. Before I could only do 2 or 3 miles before I would get knee and leg pain and now I'm up to 8 miles and I can run with very little pain during my runs.
If you are looking for a really supportive sneaker for overpronation that also has extra cushion at the balls of your feet, you really need to try these sneakers!
I'd buy this again and again
I use this sneaker running on treadmills and using bikes at my gym. I LOVE it and I especially love the new grey color (I used to have the Gel Evolution 5, which I also liked for its performance but not for the way it looked). This sneaker provides excellent support for a flatfooted person like me who overpronates - my shins never hurt at the end of a run. They are soft and bouncy and last for months!

STOCKING UP on this shoe!
I love this shoe, its a great shoe. i'm severely flat footed and usually go with new balance but what caught my attnetion was the fact that this shoe hugs your entire foot. Its like total comfort. I love it so much i purchased another pair.
The Best Shoes I Ever Bought
I am an avid runner with completely flat feet so I have to us an orthotic in my shoes and these shoes are a perfect fit even with my orthotics. They are the most supportive comfotable shoes I ever bought. I just ordered myself another pair I like them so much!

I LOVE THIS SHOE!!!!!!!
this shoe is great i was a little hesitant from purchasing it from just recently being diagnosed with severe flat feet in the navy. with my hip popping and my alightment all over the place. i love it. you could litreally feel the shoe hug your foot like you know it wont fall off. i could fall asleep wearing these. i love them so much i bought another pair.
Great shoe for runners recovering from shin splints or for those who need Arch supports. I just completed a 10 mile run in these shoes and I didn't have pain in my feet nor my shins. The only issue for me is that they are heavy, but they dont feel as heavy as the Ariels by Brooks. I plan to buy another pair. If they can make these shoes lighter in weight that would be awesome!
i love this shoe
i love this shoe, it feels like it really hugs the foot, and so such a light shoe it feels like you have cushion and support everywhere. i love it so much i bought 2nd pair!
Walking on sunshine!
Best running shoe I have ever owned...I look forward to running even more now because I slip into total comfort when I put these on. I will buy several pairs to have on deck when I wear these out.
I run about 35-40 miles per week and am a pretty severe overpronator. These shoes are so comfortable and really give me the support that I need. I've had fewer knee problems since purchasing them and will definitely be wearing them during my next race (half marathon).
I ran in an earlier model of this shoe and liked it. This model is great. I really like the width - the edge of my baby toes don't get rubbed. Great cushioning.
I absolutely love these shoes! I have low arches so the higher arch is great for my feet and the cushioning is heavenly. I rotate these with a pair of the Asics Kayano 18 and they are similar but these actually seem softer with a little more support. I used to wear the Adidas Adapt but they no longer make them so I tried the Asics and am very happy I did. I do a lot of fast walking (asphalt) mixed with running (soft trail/path). I have had no problem with my plantar's fasciitis since I have been wearing these and I do not add any orthotics as I had done before with the Adidas. I wish they had a white version but the gray is pretty subdued. I cannot complain about the weight of the shoes as to me they feel just slightly heavier than the Kayano 18's. All I know is my feet are very happy and I will stick with the Kayano and Revolution 6 shoes.
Not working for me anymore
I've been buying the Asics Evolution for years, because they worked great with my orthotics and my nearly-flat feet. This otherwise good update is just not working for me, I'm sad to say. It's definitely more cushiony than older versions, which would be great. However, my orthotics no longer sit well in this shoe, it seems to run larger than it used to, I'm having heel slip issues, and terrible blisters on my arches. The tweaks to the midpost and sole just made it fit and track differently than older versions. It's still a great shoe with excellent cushion and motion control - it's just not working for me anymore.
Fixed my knee problem
I run 20-30 miles per week, will ramp up to 40 over the winter, and use these shoes for long slow distance and half marathons. Last year, I had terrible knee problems due to overpronation on my right foot. Combined with core and hip strenghtening, and a SuperFeet orthotic in my right shoe (this shoe being reviewed) I have NO MORE KNEE PAIN.
This is not a shoe for racing short distance, not for me anyway. It's heavy and bulky compared to my Nike Frees which I use for 5K's and speedwork. The faster pace of these corrects my form. But THESE SHOES are my absolute go-to for distance and I will buy them as long as they make them.
This is a very supportive shoe and works well with my orthotics to help with my pronation issues. It is very comfortable but a bit on the heavy side. I was previously in 2150s and 2160s and needed a little more support so I chose this shoe.
My biggest complaint is that the shoe laces are way too short. I can barely double knot them. That being said, I will still most likely purchases these again when the current pair wears out in a couple hundred more miles.

No more custom orthotics!
I wear my Asics Gel Evolutions nearly all day, every day. I have flat feet and have had plantar faciitis in the past and had to wear custom orthotics. I'm not a runner, but spend time in the gym 4-5 days per week doing the various cardio machines and resistance training. Since I started wearing the Gel Evolutions 3 years ago, I no longer have foot issues and have tossed the orthotics! Great support and comfort all in one!!
Heavy and changed the heel fit
Why mess with a great, consistent thing? This shoe is so much heavier than the last version, and the heel is much looser. It was enough to make me stop running on the treadmill -- and I do not generally stop running for anything. I would not want to run in the rain with these -- imagine if they got heavier with water! I bought the Asics Gel Evolution through the last 4 years, and am now searching for a replacement.

what a shoe
I used to be a runner, have had 3 foot surgeries and now have too much hardware in foot to run. So it is the gym for me. I am also an RN in the operating room. These shoes are to die for. The cushioning is fabulous, I wear them for work and have these shoes for exercise. I bragged so much that co-workers wanted them and I ordered 8 more pairs for them.
Good, not great
I'm a pretty regular runner with low arches. I found these shoes to be too wide in the ankle and across the top of the shoe. I never felt like I could get it tight enough around my ankle. Also, they are very heavy/clunky. I had them 3 months and ran only about 12-20 miles a week on them and they are already worn out!

good pronation shoe but...
This is a great pronation shoe. It keeps my right foot from over pronatating but it feels like I am running on a slab of concrete. The shoe fits like a glove. My quads are so sore from running in this shoe, but my knee problems are pretty much gone.
No More Shin Splints with these Shoes!
No More shin splints after purchasing and wearing these shoes for running! These shoes were a great fit for me. They are comfortable and light weight. I only wish there were more color choices in this shoe.

seem like it will work but too big
I[...]was suprised that they were so big.Almost an inch from the tip of my toe to the front of the shoe. My other Asics are the same size as well as my Brooks and Saucony. Sending them back to try the smaller size.
trying to improve
hard as a rock
Great for pronation control but felt like I was running on a brick. My quads actually were sore from these shoes. I would try another pronation shoe with more cushioning for a softer ride.
Great Shoe for Heal Cushioning
Use this shoe for treadmill and some light street running. Love the color as it does not show dirt and scuffs. Great shoe and plan to get another pair!
I have worn the Asics Evolution for years. Love the shoe! Fits great, excellent support, very comfortable, no need to try other shoes!
Beware, unlike the 2150's and 216o's they are true to size. Too heavy for long distance running. Wonderful for walking. I'm going back to the 2160.
