    I am not a high-mileage runner; but I like running in lighter shoes on a mix of pavement and trail and have used the DS Trainer line for a while, thinking I needed stability; but as I have shifted to a midfoot strike, my forefeet have gotten stronger, and I figured I'd try a neutral shoe for the first time in 40 years.

    These looked like the neutral version of th DS Trainer 16. Pretty close, and they work fine. The transition was smooth. There is plenty of support and cushioning; but they are light and fast. The forefoot has to be laced very loosely and the laces close to the top tightly for the shoe to work properly for me.

    The laces that come with these are a joke, so flimsy and cheap that mine started to unravel after the second run; so I took the ones from my old worn-out DS Trainer 16's and used them.

    Otherwise, everything is fine with these shoes.

    Big fan of the Sky Speed and the killer "orange" of the previous iteration (original?). Used it for all distances up to marathon. No problem. This one looks fantastic too. My feedback is all these shoes seem to say "buy this shoe 1/2 size up", however this one indeed feels a half size smaller than even the previous one. I would be surprised if Asics used a different model/base whatever but, my personal road test, indicates that's the case. The disappointng thing is not really knowing that until you are a run, two or three in.

    Still early days (no runs over 10 miles yet), but great shoe. For those who land on forefoot and don't over pronate, provides enough cushioning and support while remaining relatively light. Heel not too high. Ordered a half-size up, as recommended - was the right recommendation. Good on details - e.g., laces are right length. Shoe looks sharp too.

      I went to these shoes after running in Kayano 16's and 18's and I love them! There much lighter than the Kayano's. I have logged close to 50 miles in the sky speeds and I will buy another pair soon. I have fitted them with speedlaces and they wrap my foot like a glove! One of my fav shoes all time!

        Bought this shoe as a lighter option to my Cumulus 10's/11's and as a way to encourage mid-foot striking. Not the lightest shoe out there, but works well for me.

        I also tried the Speedstar, but found them far to narrow for me. I definitely have a wider than average foot. The Sky Speed is perfect for me.

        These shoes seem to me to be forgiving, in that the occasional heel strike doesn't send pain shooting up my shin. I don't think I'll be using them for anything longer than a half marathon or half ironman.
