        The advertised "natural foot function" is negated by the back of the shoe, which is stiff as a board, placing incredible stress on the ankles, causing heel pain. The shoes would, I think, be terrific if the backs were soft rather than being as hard as concrete, impeding the ankles from properly flexing.

        Painfully stiff

        The backs of the shoes are as stiff as boards, placing incredible stress on the achilles tendons and causing heel pain. The shoes would be perfect otherwise. Asics must be attempting to accomplish something by making the back of the shoe so stiff, but what that might be escapes me.

        Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend

          This is my fourth pair of these shoes. The others are great. This was the latest color. I use a superfeet insole though and these shoes squeak, loudly, on carpet tile or on the cross country course I walk my dog on every morning. Roadrunner rep said to try baby powder, so I will give it a try.
