I am 54 and run 120-130 miles/month. I had sore toes, as with a stress fracture, and feared I'd have to stop running for a few weeks. I wanted the Nimbus 13 as they were on sale, but my size only came in the Nimbus 14.

AMAZING comfort. Have run 3 days x 6 miles each and NO pain of any kind.

For me, it's worth some extra coin to not have to worry about getting side-lined by pain or injury.

The Nimbus 12 and 13 were great shoes in all respects. The 14, unfortunately, is problematic. The uppermost laces (where you tie them) cut painfully into the top of my feet. This is true even when I tie the shoe very loosely, and it prevents me from running long distances in this shoe. Anything above 3 miles simply hurts too much. In addition, the transition from midfoot to forefoot is awkward and much less smooth than in the Nimbus 13. All in all, I recommend skipping the Nimbus 14, stocking up on Nimbus 13, and waiting for the 15 in the hope that by next year Asics will fix these problems.

These are great shoes, just not for me. Rubbed hot spots/blisters on my arches just behind the balls of my feet on two separate runs. Tried different lacing and thinner socks and still it happened. Sorry to say, I have to send them back. Was really hoping that they would work for me.

Used the nimbus 13 before find the 14 a little lighter in weight and a slight change in toe box shape.I find both changes suit me perfectly, great update, great heel fit also holds better than the 13's. Highly recommend the shoe. also use Brooks but find 13's and now 14 give better support, cushioning, and flexablity

Got these 10 days ago, ran 2 miles, 15 miles and 11 miles in them, road and trail. No complaints. Padding felt soft the first few miles until the shoes settled in, now the shoes feel as good and solid as my Gel Nimbus 13s but a little bit lighter. I am running with an upgraded insole, which may partly account for both the initial softness and the shoe feeling slightly smaller than the official size, which in any case is a size up from my non-running shoe size. Plan to run with these shoes for this year's Marine Corps Marathon and perhaps Boston in the spring.

This new shoe has a design defect. After running 6 miles it starts to chaffe on the right foot where the side of the arch is located. Either the end of the liner or the insole side is rubbing. I also tried a regular width and a 2E which is what I usually wear. I ran in the previous 13 Gel Nimbus no problems. I run in Nike Vomero's series 6/7, and Brooks Ghost (noisy shoe)have not had this problem - ever! I did have this problem with older Addidas as did fellow runners I know. I am very dissappointed. How can they market a shoe that has an immediate noticable defect? I now have a blister. I wear socks and experimented with these as well.

I am an over pronator and it seems to have gotten worse in the last year. I was using new balance 99x series for a long time. Then they seemed to stop working. I was running through the first layer of rubber on the outside heel in 8-10 weeks. I tried motion control shoes from new balance but they did not seem to work. I was still running through the first layer of rubber in a short time. They did not help my gait at all.

I have used custom made orthotics for over 40 years. I went to my podiatrist to see if there was anything he could do. He said there was nothing he could do. He recommended that I go to a running shoe store and get a more neutral shoe. I had thought about going to a store myself. I get my shoes on line. The customer service people try to help but it is hard since it is online and they can not see how you walk.

I went to a store after I saw my doctor. The clerk was a runner and he seemed to know what he was talking about. He agreed with the doctor. He recommended the nimbus 14, a neutral shoe.

I love this shoe and I have bought three pairs in a month. The one in the store and two more pairs from roadrunner. I had a store credit to use up and a 25% off coupon so I figured, "what the heck"

The shoe is very durable and comfortable. It has worked wonders on my gait. It has really improved my pronation. There seems to be a lot more techknowlegy? built into the shoe. The price is reasonable.

Now that I have three pairs I should be good for a year.

I'm a longtime asics Nimbus user, and I run 30-50 miles per week. The Nimbus 14, while basically still a good shoe, is a significant step back for Asics. In the interest of weight reduction they've reduced the padding of the tongue, with the result that the laces cut painfully into the top of the foot. That may be tolerable on shorter runs, but once you go beyong, say, 12 miles, it becomes very painful. Also, Asics has somehow compromised the outstanding turnover performance of the Nimbus 12 and 13. The 14 feels much less organic, and more clunky. I've returned mine (thank goodness for RRS's 90-day return policy!) and stocked up on Nimbus 13. Let's hope the 15 will return to the old virtues.

Shoes feel good light and the cushioning is great no cons yet. order a sz 10.5 - 2e but shoes fit like a sz.11 So i send them back and order a sz.10 2e. i normally wear a 10.5 but seems like these shoes run half size big when order in 2e. im not shure if its the same for normal width. but i suggest you try them on first at a local store before buying..

Tried these 14s.Prefer the 13s.14s have lower heel,less cushioning,are a little wider,and trap heat more.Also question durability.After several runs,noticed heavy wear on right sole under big toe.The 14s are comfortable and ASICS produces good shoes.But these 14s at [$] just didn't do the job.Hope others don't have the same results.

I run about 2-3 miles a day on the treadmill and work 12hr shifts running my butt off and these shoes make me smile while doing it. Beyond comfortable!!! I replaced the insoles with superfeet orange because I have high arches, need maximum cushion, and need to prevent stress fractures. These shoes are so nice/stylish I am planning to re-buy in 3 mo. Must buy! Glad I waited for Nimbus 14

Like many of you, I have been training in Nimbus for years. While training for this year's Boston marathon, I purchased the 14s. I usually notice some subtle differences when changing editions. However, the difference between the 13s and 14s was dramatic. I had foot issues a couple years ago, and after about a week on the 14s, I began experience the telltale signs in my left foot. The only thing that had changed was my shoes. I called Asics and learned that Asics changed the stack height (heel to toe drop)from 12mm on the 13s to 10mm on the 14s. It would have been nice to know this in advance. It certainly had a huge impact on my stride over the course of a 70 mile week. Asics suggested I place a heal pad in the 14s to help with the transition as apparently this stack height is the new industry standard. This helped, but the 14s were also very hard in the forefoot. It felt like wood hitting the pavement. I returned the 14s because of RR's fantastic return policy. I am now using the 15s, with a heal pad, and the forefoot is more cushioned than the 14s.

The Asics Nimbus Gel 14 saved my feet and legs from pains and blisters I was getting from my Nikes that wore too quickly and hurt my feet. Upon purchasing the Asics, I learned what good support/ cushioning really is! Currently, I am training for a half marathon and these are perfect for my feet- the highlighter yellow color also gains alot of attention from drivers, other people on the road, etc. 4 stars instead of 5 because the toe box is a bit more roomy than I would like (not as fitted for faster sprints/running) but that's what you come to expect in a non-minimalist shoe.

I use this pair of shoes to run 7 miles each day on pavement. I have had the shoes now for two weeks now and have ran in them everyday. During the run, the shoes feel comfortable and lightweight. I have improved my personal best 7 mile run by 4 minutes in these shoes. After each run I feel like I had a great workout with no pain.

I find the Asics Nimbus 14 an improvement over the Nimbus 13 which I still like a lot. I've had both of my ankles operated on several times for injuries and find the Asics line, in particular, the Nimbus to be the most comfortable, supportive, well wearing running sneakers on the market. I don't run anymore because of my ankle issues, but do a lot of walking and find the light weight style of the Asics line to be the best out of all other's. Very well made.
