I'm a huge fan of Asics and over the last 5 years I've probably had 15+ pairs - some of which were more expensive and some were less. But for me the Cumulus is my all time favorite. I've had past versions of the Cumulus and loved them but since I'm always in search of something better I've tried other models (and other brands). I think my search is over (seriously). I wanted to wait awhile before reviewing this shoe so that I could really give them a good trial. This 14 series is the best so far. They're light and comfortable. No tight spots or slippage. The cushioning is excellent for such a light shoe. When I buy a shoe it has to be cushiony because I put a lot of miles on them and I don't want to damage my knees or get shin splints or anything. And I can tell quickly whether they are too hard - and these shoes are not. To me, these shoes are the perfect blend of comfort, cushion, weight, and speed. I wish they came in another color (as I write this they only come in the gray/blue color).

Honestly, if people are complaining that a shoe is narrow and the manufacturer offers a wide version, buy it. I am tired of the shoe companies making the standard version of shoes wider, not offering a narrow version but then offering a wide and an extra wide. The ever widening american foot has made running shoes for the narrow footed impossible to find.

Drastic change from prior models. While being lighter, the shoe has less cushion for long runs and is narrow. The Cumulus WAS a great product. When you have a loyal following, why change a product that made you great. I will pass on the 14s.

Marketing says these shoes are more nimble, really they are just narrower. The soles on these shoes are a full half inch narrower than their predecessor. The upper is roughly a quarter inch narrower. I am concerned by the reduced contact area with the road, will the soles wear out faster because new narrowness? Will the increase of impact force per unit area break down the midsole sooner? Also these shoes are less flexible in torsion than the Cumulus 13. I buy these shoes for cushioning, not for any form of motion control. I am really concerned by the changes because I wasn't paying attention to the mileage on my 13s and am running my 18th Boston marathon on Monday and planned on using these, but with the drastic size change I'm thinking about ordering a pair of 13s. I wear orthotics so my shoes do not need a breaking in before wearing them. I think it was the Cumulus 6 and 7 were drastically different than the predecessors and I skipped those shoes before going back to the Cumulus 8. I hope these shoes are true to the mission of a marshmallow shoe and that the shoe designers have not tried to fix something that wasn't broken (again).

I'm a 6'2" 240LB runner, who needs plenty of cushioning.
The Cumulus, paired with the RRS Shoe Dog inserts, have really helped with heel pain. (Not gone completely, but helped)

Would buy again, brought me back to Asics after two wayward years with Brooks (Glycerin & Ghost).

I've worn Asisc for 20 years. The 14's were tyhe worst for size.

I found the 15's much more to size

I run 6-8 miles everyday on pavement roads and sandy sidewalk areas near the beach in Oceanside. The shoe gives good cushioning without the feeling that your foot is "sinking" into the shoe with each step. The only complaint I can think of is that these shoes aren't being made anymore!

I have used Gel Cumulus for years and they seem to get better and better.
Lightweight and easy running, no foot issues or blisters, do not chafe ankle bones.
They even seem to provide a bit of support to the centre of the mid-foot for the metatarsals -- bone spur relief!
Great shoe.

I'v been wearing Asic's for over 20 years and I am 69 years old. However I hace moved from 11 1/2 2E to 13 4e and my feet haven't grown. When I was wearing 11 1/2 I wore 2 pair of socks and they were very comfortable. Unfortunatly this company has irrigular quality control pn consistance of size per shoe. A dramatic short coming! But a nicely coushioned shoe.

I was excited to receive these shoes and get out running again. I usually wear size 12 in running shoes, but decided to go a size up for more toe space. These shoes feel great. The memory foam around the heel area adds to comfort and true fit. While running, I tried switching back and forth between mid-foot and forefoot landing. Both felt good. I will say there is more cushion for forefoot runners.

My only con will be the feel of the shoes. They do feel slightly heavier than other shoes I've worn, but I attribute that to the cushioning. I'm looking forward to running some more.

I use them for walking. I've been wearing for years. Have tried others always back to this one for 20 years. I have found they are very irregular sizes come in the same size. Some wide some narrow, but have a great cushioned heal. Really the only shoe I can wear comfortably. I believe their quality control is very weak at the factory.

I have run in Asics Cumulus for about 7 years and have had over 20 pairs of them. All great shoes until the 14. The arch support shape has changed and is very pronounced on the outside now.

It might fit someone- but not me and not people who liked the 13 and before.

I love this shoe. It is a little narrower than the 13 but I just loosen the laces a little more and it's fine. I've tried almost every neutral shoe in the store and this is the best feel for me - cushion, not too flexible, fit around ankles is great because of the extra gel. There was a Saucony shoe that was close but the Cumulus 14 felt the best for me. 3 mi short runs during the week and 5-6 mi long runs on the weekends on pavement.

I wrote a review in late December that was not very supportive of this version of the Cumulus. Fortunately, RRS reached out and I ended up sending them back. I ordered a new pair of the 14s, but got a different color. Long story short, I think I had a defective pair. The new red/lime ones are true to my previous experiences with the Cumulus.
