I'm pleased with the improvements ASICS has made to the GT-2000 over its previous model. The added Gel cushioning system keeps my foot in place during my long runs. The look and general feel are the same, but the added technology improves the overall feel and support of the ride. Great shoe.

I got these to replace a long string of great GT-2160s (6 pairs). I tried a pair of GT-2170s, but they never fit right around my ankle so I jumped to the GT-2000.

Seemed OK at first - albeit very little cushioning under-foot, and the toe-box is WAY too big. But less than 200 miles in, I have worn through the heel. I change shoes religiously at 400 miles, and I have never even come close to this with any shoes before. Worse, I've developed runner's knee (first in one knee, then in both) over a month and a half of running on these. In 10 years of running I've never had this problem before, but my doc, online research, and the "Runner's Repair Manual" all say that it's likely from poor support from the shoe. Which is also what I'm feeling - flat, hard, poor support, poor cusioning. So these are going in the trash, and I'm looking for a new shoe. With the resulting injury, it's even worse than just a waste of money.

This is a great running shoe, I am an experienced runner and I know you shouldn't do this but I pulled these shoes out of the box and ran a PR in the half marathon in them with no issues at all. Great shoe!

Ordered a 2E in size 10.5. Measured it against the 2E I had from its predecessor GT2170. GT2000 IS ALMOST 3/4" NARROWER at the widest point. DO NOT TRUST the sizing..

I have been running in ASICS for about 10 years now, and this is the worst shoe I have used from them. The shoe has no support or cushion, and your foot feels very loose. The mesh they use on the top and sides of the shoe seems to stretch, allowing your foot to move. Cant wait for the next model.

Have been wearing the asics gt-21xx line for 5 years now. The 2000s are noticeably lighter, but at the expense of my poor feet! I hated them on my first run...the impact on the forefoot area was jarring. I have been a fan of this line, so I continued to work out in them. In the end, they were not bad. But, I had become accustomed to the softer ride of the prior models, so, I moved on to a pair of Brooks Adrenaline GTS13s.

BUY A HALF SIZE UP. I have worn size 12 in the 21XX (and the 16XX and 17XX) for years. I had to return it for a 12.5.

The 2170 in my opinion went the wrong direction...a more prominent heel right when other shoes were trending towards minimal or natural running. It was so much so that I almost disliked the shoe compared to the 2160. If you are a mid or forefoot runner, this is a great shoe. It has less cushioning overall than the 2170. If you are heavier or a heel striker who needs more cushion you might want to look elsewhere.

I am no runner. A previous back surgery will not allow the impact so I cycle. I bought these to walk Washington DC on a vacation. I have large feet with low arches so finding a good shoe for this purpose is not easy. I used to use Brooks Beast but I decided to go with something different. They feel great but time will tell if they are effective. I can't wait.

Outstanding shoe in the GT-2xxx evolution. The GT-2000 is a bit lighter than its immediate predecessor (GT-2170), with a somewhat more natural ride (less canted). It's comfortable, and a fantastic cushion-stability shoe to run in! After ~ 2 decades running in Asics GT-21xx, I'm happy to move to the GT-2000. Thank-you Asics!

I walk daily - just had both knees replaced so getting the "new ones" broken in. These shoes are supportive, especially with custom insoles,and help me feel properly aligned, more so than any other shoe I've had. Lightweight and very comfortable, I feel will last a good amount of time. I previously had Brooks Beast and like these much better.

I needed a running shoe with a decent amount of support since I over-pronate when I run. These have much more support compared to other shoes that have inserts or plastic "waves" built into the soles. They seem durable, but I have not put many miles on them yet.

I run 4 miles/day and have been a fan of the Asics GT-21xx line for years. The GT-21xx line offers excellent cushioning, stability & is durable. What a disappointment when I tried the GT-2000! No front foot cushioning & I could tell my big toe would dig a hole in the flimsy top mesh within less than a month. Toe box is too big also. I put these back in the box and returned them immediately.
