To go in line with the Kayano trend, this updated GEL-Kayano 19 is even lighter than the GEL-Kayano 18, and you can definitely feel it when you run. ASICS reconstructed the upper of this shoe so it is more form fitting, providing extra comfort and stability. I have run about 50 miles in this shoe so far and see no sign of wear and tear.

I run on average 4 miles 4 days per week, normal ho hum day in 34:00. Have had pretty bad plantar fasciitis to the point of not being able to run for many months. Used to run in not appropriate for me Nike Air Max. After my problems I started in Kayano 17s with RR support insoles, had 18s and just got the third pair of 19s to sit in the closet until the second pair gets retired. The 19s are the best and lightest ones yet. The RR support insoles are in prior to ever trying them on. I wear a 11.5 in a dress shoe and all my Kayanos are 12.5. The combination of Kayano's, the RR support insoles (in every single pair of shoes I own) and actually stretching has me running again and zero foot pain.

Normally ran in the Asics Gel-3030 since it was too expensive to buy Kayano's all the time. Run about 4 full marathons and 4 half marathons a year and burn up shoes quickly. Purchases the Kayano 19s a week and half out of the Fargo Marathon and did one quick training run and ran the marathon in them. Shoe was very comfortable and felt like I had run in them for weeks. Only complaint was the toe box felt small and/or shoe fits half size smaller than other Asics I've worn. Long story short, great shoe, would recommend to anyone needing a structured shoe. Just make sure the sizing is right.

I love Asics shoes. I used to buy Nike and New Balance, but they just didn't fit right or wear good. The last 5 pairs I have purchased have been Asics. I go through 2 pair each year.

I run 3 -4 times per week 45 - 60 minute runs and have been wearing Asics Gel Kayano for about 15 years. I have been a loyal customer, due to thinking it was preventing injury by wearing good shoes. I felt by running in them than other shoes it helped prevent injury. I'm 6' 185lbs and in good shape. Recently over the last 3 models the quality and cushioning has changed. These are okay, but now I have heal pain, which I had never had in any of the other models. It might be time to try something new.

Loved the experience @ RoadRunner Sports. Before I went here, I just bought running shoes in any sport store. But, when running, my calves, and knees would hurt greatly. After doing the foot analysis @ RoadRunner, it became clear I needed stability+ shoes. The first pair of shoes that I was presented with fit like a glove, and with the insoles, they became even more perfect!

I'll never buy a running shoe elsewhere.

Bought a pair of Asics Gel Nimbus 14 at a local running store on sale,after running in the Brooks adrenaline(a stability shoe). I was having pain in the ball of my left foot, so I went to a sports medicine podiatrist where I was told I needed a more neutral shoe. I really liked the Nimbus 14, but wasn't used to the extra cushion, so I figured I would give the Kayano 19's a try after reading reviews that it had become a more neutral shoe than before. Big mistake. I had a worn out pair of Kayano 17's lying around, and ran in them with no problems. This is a totally different shoe, with very little forefoot cushion. Thankfully, with the Road Runner Sports return policy, I was able to exchange them for the Nimbus 15, as I'm now in love with my 14's!

I discovered ASICS when I was a 7-day perweek runner. I'm one of those rare types--high-arched over-pronator. I've tried many brands with many disappointments. ASICS never disappoints. RRS guided me to this shoe a long time ago and they never disappoint either.

After having many problems with shoes I tried to Roadrunner to see if they could help. Not only did they help me get the right shoe, they actually had them in a mens size 6! I cant even order them in a size 6 on ASICS website!

I walk approximately 3.5 to 4 miles a day.Shoe is very comfortable but I would like it a little tighter in the heal. Overall a very good value and the best is it comes in a size 13.5. Received within 3 days after placing order.

These are my second pair. The first were the Kayano 18's. I am 5'11" and 197lbs. I need the pronation control. These give me the control but don't give me the Clydesdale feel of other sneakers. They are incredibly light!
I was going to throw out my 18's when I got these, but I took down the higher tread on the soles with a belt sander to even out the treads again. I'm not using the 18's to run now, but I've extended the life of wearing them significantly.

If you're looking for light and pronation control and able to handle some sick pounding--these are a great running shoe.

I have run in the asics 3030 for many years and found it to be a superb shoe. I was very concerned when the model shifted to the gt 3000. I actually decided to go back to the new gel Kayano 19 as they had finally done away with the ridiculous asymmetric lacing system. I had run in the Kayano's for years until they went to the asymetric lacing which really hurt my feet. Big mistake to go back to the Kayano 19. I am a late overpronator and the Kayano 19 was just terrible. Too soft and the spine in the sole support system could be felt rubbing into the bottom of my foot. They felt very inefficient with no "rebound". I brought them back to Road Runner (great exchange policy!) and got the new asics gt 3000. Much to my surprise, I love the shoe. It has nearly the same feel and superb efficiency of the 3030 series. I am quite happy and will stay with this model. It has plenty of cushioning and has the same stability features of the 3030. For those of you who don't care for the Kayano anymore, check out the gt 3000.

Orginally started using Kayano 12 to relieve knee and heel pain and have been using ever since. However, this last update did away with any heel support and reduced the cushioning to the point I can no longer run with these shoes. If the Kayano 19 is a big seller for Asics, please bring back the older versions as a true stability plus as another model.
