To go in line with the Kayano trend, this updated GEL-Kayano 19 is even lighter than the GEL-Kayano 18, and you can definitely feel it when you run. ASICS reconstructed the upper of this shoe so it is more form fitting, providing extra comfort and stability. I have run about 50 miles in this shoe so far and see no sign of wear and tear.

I have been buying Asics running shoes for almost twenty years - these are the best yet. Most of the time I find that it takes a couple of times running before shoes feel comfortable - these were great the first time I put them on, and felt exactly right.

I'm not sure how it's possible to keep improving a running shoe, but Asics seems determined to keep trying, and with this model, they succeeded.

I don't know enough about the technology of shoes to talk about specific details, I just know that these felt great this morning right out of the box. I am a recreational runner (10-15 miles a week) who isn't light (6', 200 lbs), with feet that are normal width / regular arches.

This Kayano 19 shoe was very comfortable when I first wore it walking around town and to/from work. Lots of cushioning all around and my foot felt great, but thats where it ended. My heel and ankle start getting sore after a couple of 3 mile jogs on the treadmill at the gym, and got worst when I took them on a 3-4 mile outdoor run. I also got this shoe in a 2E wide and it is as narrow as my old Asics GT-2150/60 D width shoes. So far I've tried the Cumulus 14, the Kayano 19 and they are all not good for me. I can't find any Asics that resembles the old GT-2150/60 shoes anymore, so my run with Asics are over. I would not rate this a stability plus shoe. It's more like a neutral shoe to me.

I only use these shoes for road running. I still get knee pain and I find that my toes suffer after 9 miles or so even though they are half a size bigger than I need. I dont find they last very long but I run 20+ miles a week

Asics has stripped down the Kayano model for the last three years. Kayano shoes are lighter because the gel has been removed mostly from the heel = More Asics profit. I returned the Kayano 18 and prefer to use my numerous pairs of Kayano 16's (50%+ more gel) until I find a replacement for gel cushion to protect my body for long runs.
Customer service at different vendors indicate lots of complaints. No more Kayanos for me. Any substitute suggestions?

I run 10-K's and half marathons, with typical running of 10-20 miles per week. I have run my entire life and love the Kayano and 3000 series of Asics. The new Kayano feels lighter and fits well. It has great heel support and cushioning, and feels somewhat less cushioned in forefoot, but it is still great. This is a great update!

I bought this shoe because I was looking for one that would improve my jogging ability and extend the distances I jog without tiring my thighs and challenging my knees. I am a 76 year old jogger who has run since high school and this shoe seems to be what I was looking for in a shoe. I have had them for a couple of weeks and already seem to experience the improvement I was seeking.

I run on average 4 miles 4 days per week, normal ho hum day in 34:00. Have had pretty bad plantar fasciitis to the point of not being able to run for many months. Used to run in not appropriate for me Nike Air Max. After my problems I started in Kayano 17s with RR support insoles, had 18s and just got the third pair of 19s to sit in the closet until the second pair gets retired. The 19s are the best and lightest ones yet. The RR support insoles are in prior to ever trying them on. I wear a 11.5 in a dress shoe and all my Kayanos are 12.5. The combination of Kayano's, the RR support insoles (in every single pair of shoes I own) and actually stretching has me running again and zero foot pain.

Normally ran in the Asics Gel-3030 since it was too expensive to buy Kayano's all the time. Run about 4 full marathons and 4 half marathons a year and burn up shoes quickly. Purchases the Kayano 19s a week and half out of the Fargo Marathon and did one quick training run and ran the marathon in them. Shoe was very comfortable and felt like I had run in them for weeks. Only complaint was the toe box felt small and/or shoe fits half size smaller than other Asics I've worn. Long story short, great shoe, would recommend to anyone needing a structured shoe. Just make sure the sizing is right.

I love Asics shoes. I used to buy Nike and New Balance, but they just didn't fit right or wear good. The last 5 pairs I have purchased have been Asics. I go through 2 pair each year.

I run 3 -4 times per week 45 - 60 minute runs and have been wearing Asics Gel Kayano for about 15 years. I have been a loyal customer, due to thinking it was preventing injury by wearing good shoes. I felt by running in them than other shoes it helped prevent injury. I'm 6' 185lbs and in good shape. Recently over the last 3 models the quality and cushioning has changed. These are okay, but now I have heal pain, which I had never had in any of the other models. It might be time to try something new.

Loved the experience @ RoadRunner Sports. Before I went here, I just bought running shoes in any sport store. But, when running, my calves, and knees would hurt greatly. After doing the foot analysis @ RoadRunner, it became clear I needed stability+ shoes. The first pair of shoes that I was presented with fit like a glove, and with the insoles, they became even more perfect!

I'll never buy a running shoe elsewhere.
