I enjoy this shoe. I can tell this is lighter weight than the DS17 and seems faster, but the 17 was comfy. Toe box is not as airy as the 17, but I don't notice it any smaller. I always double tie my strings, so not a problem. I will get another pair.

Lightweight and fast with just the right amount of support. I ran in these for my last two half marathons, and PR'd in both. Love them!

I love these shoes. I started wearing Gel DS Trainers after years in a different series (GT2150s and their predecessors). They are lighter and feel better, so I stay with them. However, they do wear out quickly. The Gel DS Trainer 17s annoyed me because the laces kept coming untied, but I have not had that problem with the 18s. I run 40-50 miles a week, and I love these shoes. I wear 7.5-8 in regular shoes and 8.5 in these, and I have narrow feet so I have to wear the laces tightly.

Great shoe! Nice, sock-like fit. Feels supportive without being too heavy. I run a lot in this shoe as well as cross training at the gym and I've been very happy with it.

I Loved the DS Trainer 17's. Since they are no longer available in my size I went ahead and moved up to the 18's. I've worn them a few times now but am not overly happy with them. Got a horrible blister on my heel (never have had that before). They don't seem to breath like the 17's and the toe box is much tighter. I haven't given up on the 18's but wish the 17's were still available!

I went on a walk in these to try them out a couple days ago & then did a 4.5 mile hard run today. Asics are my favorite, so I was pretty sure I couldn't go wrong with these. I have a pair of Asics (Gel Trabuco) trail runners that I love, but for running on the road, they are a little heavy. They are fantastic for trails though. These are light, very comfortable, supportive and didn't require any break in. At first, it felt as if the arch support was misplaced. I generally order a half size up for running. As my foot started to swell a bit on my run, it felt as if everything moved into place. No shin splints and no soreness to speak of tonight. I'm more conservative with colors, so I wish they were a a little less loud, but I conserve my running shoes and don't really wear them out an about, so as long as they help me run the way I want to, I could care less about how they look.

I've been alternating the last year between the last model of the DS Trainer and the Mizuno Elixir. I tried the Mizuno because the last few updates of the DS seemed to be too stiff. This update seems like it's the DS Trainer of a few years ago. The new model forefoot fit is the best and doesn't have the pinching that the previous version did. Still love my Mizuno's but have the feeling this shoe will get worn more often now.

This shoe runs a bit small. Had to send it back for 1/2 size bigger.
