A long time Asics wearer, I haven't been too keen on Asics shoes over the past few years (Landreth, SpeedStar, DS Trainer, Cumulus). I even switched to Newton shoes for the past two years. After reading a glowing review of this shoe in a prominent sport magazine, I decided to give them a try. After first trying them on, I almost sent them back. They have a truss system that places some pressure on your mid-foot, just in front of your heel towards the middle and outside of your foot. I found this annoying when walking around the house to test them out. I am SO glad I didn't send them back. Decided to take them for a run and they were perfect! A ton of cushioning for such a lightweight trainer, but not so much that they feel sloppy; they are still very responsive and they felt absolutely heavenly on my run. Did a 9 mile run a few days ago and still they performed flawlessly. Well done Asics!

Power walk and jogging on sidewalk and pavement. The minute you put this shoe on you go ahhhhh. I wanted to try a shoe that will transition me to a minimalist type of shoe, This Is It. I felt no discomfort anywhere as feared. I love this shoe. oh and it goes great with jeans

After wearing every version (multiple pairs of each) of the Asics Landreth, I was in search of a new shoe after it was discontinued this year. The rep from Asics told me the Excel 2.0 is appropriate replacement for the Landreth. I tried both the Excel and Cumulus but prefer the Cumulus. It is a bit heavier than the Excel, but it about the same weight as the Landreth. I have done two run in the Cumulus a 7 mile and 10k race. No foot or leg issues either time. I ordered the Cumulus in my regular Landreth size.

With the Excel, I had to order up a size because I got terrible (the worst I've every had) blisters on my first 4 mile run. When ordering the next size, I added an insole which seemed to help. I used to prefer very light weight shoes, but since having a baby I like a little more meat to my shoe. I am petite, average weight, and do not require a neutral plus shoe, but I'm just not used to the low-profile shoes.

Neither make up for my Lanreth, but I'm still a fan of Asics.

I run 30-40 miles a week. I usually break shoes in, before wearing to a race, but I had no choice. I wore these right out of the box to run the Hollywood Half Marathon, and they performed well. No breaking period required for these shoes. It's light weight and has the perfect amount of cushioning with the flexibility I need for a quick toe off. Im looking to buying another pair. I highly recommend these. Best pair of shoes yet!

Love these shoes. Went in to road runner to get a different pair but after talking to the sales women I went with the Asics Gel. Im so glad I did. My first run out with them I took 3 minutes off my 5k run. The next day did 6 miles with them no problem. There was no breaking in period which I loved. I would recommend these to everyone

The first day I put these on my toes were thanking me. Although I bought the same size as I always have and still purchased Asics like always, I got these after doing a custom-fitting and having them recommended to me. My toes that sometimes go numb from what must be distance running in improper shoes felt AMAZING after these shoes. I didn't feel as though my feet were swelling and I was able to run farther than normal with ease. Although they are a little bit more expensive that I would normally spend on a pair of shoes, I decided quickly that it's well worth it and will buy this pair time and time again. As for the color, at first I did NOT like the gray color but it was all they had. After a week of wearing them, I have changed my mind and am in love with the little white/blue that pops with jeans. SO CUTE!
