I got these because the specs were very similar to the DS Trainers that I run in regularly. They were spot on. They have a lot of cushion and are very comfortable. I even wore them to work a few times before they saw real trail running. After a few weeks, I was able to use them for the Leatherwood Ultras 50 Mile race. This was on extremely muddy bridle paths. I was worried they wouldn't have enough traction for that race, but it turned out Jo one had enough traction. These are a decent shoe. My two minor complaints are: the toe box gets a bit narrow, and the heel cup can start to dig into the side of your ankle on really steep, uneven terrain. It's not too bad, and overall, I would definitely buy this shoe again. Also, they do look pretty col and I hot compliments until I used them properly for running.
Working good on NW Indiana trails
6ft. 4 in. 200 lbs.90 percent of my running is done on sandy dunes, woodland and grassy field trails in Northern Indiana. Sand, tree roots, water, snow and mud are the most common elements my feet encounter. I loved the Asics GT 2160 & 2170 Trail shoes and these GT2000 2 Trail shoes have performed comparably well after about 60 miles on them. What works for one person doesn't always work for someone else. The Stability rated shows work best for me. One thing about the Asic trail shoes that I have loved is that when running in the sand dunes I get very little sand in my shoes.
The only things thus far that disappointed me about the GT2000 2 Trail is that sole seems a little harder or stiffer than the GT1160 Trail shoe does when running on pavement. Also they don't have the aggressive lug traction pattern that the GT1160 and 1170 have.
2000-2 fit the bill
Been running in this line for years (2000 series) I run about 25 miles per week. I run a half marathon or two and numerous 5 & 10ks throughout the year as time permits. I run on a combination of road and trails and they seem great so far. They held up to the billing of having a little wider forefoot and "stretchier" material (my 2150 & 2170s both tore at the little toe). This was a must for me. The trail gives me more sure footing and a more stable stride. I have had 5 knee surgeries and comfort is a must as well. I am looking forward to putting a few hundred miles on these.
Narrower upper than GT-2000
This shoe seems to have less fabric width in the upper than the GT-2000. If I compare the two shoes, I can lace the GT-2000 so the fabric edges are closer together than the GT-2000-2. This doesn't seem to affect comfort or performance. But it would be an issue if I wanted to wear thicker than normal socks, say for hiking or cold weather. Not sure if this is intentional design change, one-off defect in the pair I received, or just difference in the country and factory making the shoes. Again, I'm happy with the shoes, but this is something to be aware of before ordering.

Returning after years in minimalist shoe
Recently returning to the GT-2xxx series after a few years of running with minimalist shoes. Ended up with a hip injury. After a running analysis, it was determined that minimalist shoes do not provide sufficient pronation control for my particular gait.
After a couple of weeks and 40-50 miles of break-in, I am very happy with the feel of the shoe. They feel a bit lighter than I recall, but obviously much heavier than the minimalist shoes I am leaving behind. They provide the right amount of motion control I need and work great for road and trail running.

Love this shoe !
2nd pair of Asics in a few months. This time I was looking for a cool looking trail shoe. I am a legacy Asics customer. It's my go-to shoe for cushion, heel support, toe box, wear n tear. I ordered this one a full size up because I felt that the half size up wasn't enough with my 20+ miles weekly and toe swelling. I am glad I caught these before they retired them. Ran a 5k in them Thanksgiving weekend! I do wish they were gore-tex or partially gore tex but they are not. Great shoe!

Very Good Trail Shoe
I've had these shoes for about two weeks, and so far I love them. I run on trails with a lot of roots and mud, and the shoes handle the terrain very well. Traction is great on slippery sections of trail. Support and stability when coming down on roots or other uneven terrain is excellent. Gel cushioning is very nice. No concerns with the shoes so far. Will post an update after about 3 months of regular use.
Slips on wet surface
I really liked the fit and weight, but I noticed they slip very badly on wet surface...regardless of wet surface indoor tile or wet rocks. I was even running on paved road with some leaves and I went airborne.
Fit and comfort level is very high, I intended these to be road to trail transition / training shoes, but I just can't deal with slippage on the wet surface.
Poorly made trail shoes stay away
This is my second pair. The first pair I had to return because the heal fell off and the toe caps started pealing after only 7 runs on the trail. The new pair I am having the same issue with the toe pealing just after 4 runs. Very poor quality shoes. Pick another brand
Stylish All-Around Stable Shoe
Really good support and stability for trail running on fairly well maintained trails.....cushioning is OK, but don't plan to use this much on trails with very large or sharp rocks. Plus, love the look!

So far a great shoe for a combination of off road & road running. A good feel when running on grass.
Good performer - average wear
The 3rd pair for this shoe.
Good traction; just that the rubber on heal wears to quickly
tomahawk likes ultras
great wooded trail shoes
good shoe for the price. I'm a heavy runner and these shoes serve me right.
Stone Mountain, GA
3rd pair and will buy more
Biggest suggestion is to go a half size larger than a running shoe
First run 8 miles out of box, felt great
Run 5X week, 4 to 12 miles road, trail & treadmill.
This trail shoe is the best I had run.
This is just great for trails.
Excellent trail running shoe.
