This is the third pair of this model I have used. I used two pair for marathon training so I ordered the third pair before I had to switch to next year's model. Cushioning is good throughout and they are light weight. I've had no problems with them.

"Wears out quickly is a little over stated, but the pieces of rubber outer sole do wear quickly in the heel and mid-sole areas. However, its a good shoew for me(my 4th pair), and I've been in Gel Cumulous's for many yrs now.

I run 3-4 times a week. My runs last from 45 -65 minutes. I run on hard surfaces, and get 4-5 months from this shoe. I have used Asics for a number of years and this is my third pair of Gel Cumulus. The shoe works well for me, and will continue to buy this shoe.

I have dealt with a chronic foot condition for years and have finally found the perfect neutral shoe. After wearing this particular shoe for three days, my feet have never felt better - and I sincerely mean that. Oh, and the customer service at Runners World is first class!

I am a runner who weighs more than 200 pounds and this is a great shoe. They fit my feet well and have the right amount of cushioning, but not spongy. I run anywhere from 3 to 6 times per week. These are going to be my 1/2 marathon shoes.

I use the Cumulus 16 mainly for distance training, and so far it has worked just fine. I'll know more about it after a couple hundred km.

I am a 20 year + runner and have been using this shoe a very long time. Even though my miles are down the last few years, I still enjoy this shoe, very comfortable and good wear. I highly recommend it for normal pronation.

The Aasics Gel Cumulus 16 is a lightweight breathable shoe. it has good cushioning and the IGS makes it good on impacts when running. The only problem I have with the shoe is that it feels Tight and narrow compared to the Gel Nimbus which I liked.

i run about 15-20 miles a week and this is my first running shoes not made by nike. i have been running in the Nike Pegasus brand and found these shoes to be equally comfortable if not a little more for the amount of running that i do.

The Cumulus 16s were more or less like the previous versions. I ran in three pairs of the 15s, and always liked them for their consistent, cushioned feel deep into distance runs. The new versions kept all of that, but made the toe box a bit less pointed which gave me the room to avoid blisters on long runs. They still have the same feel as the 15s at a good price. Hard to beat for distance runners looking for a neutral show.

I've got about 20 miles on these so far, and am quite happy with them. My feet feel good, they fit pretty well, and I haven't noticed any hot spots or pinches. It's too early to tell how they'll do in the long run (run - get it - ha ha!), but they are promising so far.

These shoes are comfortable and provide a great ride. I'm 6'2", 220 lbs., running 25-30 miles each week and they provide ample cushioning and structure. I highly recommend them.

I've been in the Cumulus since 2005. I've always been happy that from one generation to the next, there is a consistent feel and the 16 is no exception. With a relatively wide toe box, my relatively wide foot is very comfortable.

The are durable...I am about to retire my first pair of the 16s and I have over 400 miles on them, a typical experience for me and Cumulus. I avg 85-90 miles a week (peak of 100+) for marathon prep, and I rotate these with some lightweight trainers for workouts. 60+% of my runs are in these shoes. I'll continue to recommend these for a high-mileage neutral runner who wants a consistent ride.

I always get the 2E since my forefoot is wide. For some reason, they shrunk the toe box in this latest edition, and it's especially tight if you buy insoles. Still a fine shoe but look out if you have wide feet.

I bought this shoe so I could train for an upcoming 10 mile road race. I race with a lighter shoe but needed something with more cushion and support for long training runs. I tried other brands but they were not as cushioned and most would result in blisters though the fit seemed right. The Cumulus 16 are very comfortable and have a lot cushion, and I do not get blisters regardless of how many miles I put on them.

Love them again! Run a dozen miles a week and found that the 16's have that cushiony bounce back in a big way. It is the reason that I have always wear Asics. These are finally soft and have amazing comfort again.

I just wish they would stop tweeking the angles, cushion, sizing and the interior strips among the soft spots of your foot. Also, not to mention the battle the design team that goes from wide to unbearable narrow width back to okay or so so! It is the best Gel Cumulus shoe they have put out in a long time so please stop trying to reinvent the wheel! 15 was a nice shoe but the 14 was just unbearably miserable.

I am on my feet all day at work. I run on gravel roads in the country and need a comfrtable shoe. The Cumulus lives up to it's name. Stable enough to avoid pot holes and the sole keeps the slip from the gravel to a minimum.

I am 150 lbs and run 40+ miles a week. I run multiple half marathons in a year, and taking on my first full marathon this year.

The Good:
Excellent cushion without being mushy. Very smooth transition, and overall good balance between cushioning and responsiveness. I tend to land mid-foot, and appreciate the forefoot cushioning of the cumulus on my longer runs, or my recovery days.

The Bad:
After putting 400 miles on my Cumulus 15's I was looking forward to breaking in the new 16 for an upcoming marathon. Unfortunately they changed the fit of this shoe in two pretty significant ways. The same size shoe now feels narrow in the toe box, where there used to be plenty of room. There is also a solid "stripe" of material that goes right over the little toes. This "stripe" of material now comes down on top of the toenails when running. The combination of those two things makes this shoe unwearable for me unfortunately.

I ran 400 miles in my 15's without a single blister or black toenail. After 26 miles in the 16's I have 2 black toenails, and a minor blister.
I'm now left looking for a new cushioned distance trainer, as the Cumulus just flat out won't work for me.

Good thing RR has 90 day return on these, I will be using it. If your toes fit, and the "stripe" doesn't come down on the top of your toes, than this is a shoe to consider as a good distance trainer. Just be warned if you think it it going to fit like your 15's did, it sure didn't for me.

Another great Cumulus. Only one this sticks out to me and it is that it is a shorter shoe than previous versions. I got the same size as always and it fits, but there is less room between my toes and the end of the shoe. I would love to try half a size up but I think that might be slightly too big and I don't want to mess with all of that. So if you were already between sizes in the previous versions, go with the larger size for this one.

The Cumulus was my main shoe 10-15 yrs ago, but in the past 5 yrs I adapted to minimalist shoes. I recently wanted to return to a more convention shoe for runs of 8 mi and over, and returned to the Cumulus. I'm only wearing them on Sunday long run and have done three 8-10 milers. They seem lighter than I remember (which I like),provide good cushioning, and protect from loose gravel. Would be good on well packed trail surfaces. Just what I wanted to reduce the impact on longer runs.

I am a 190 pound midfoot striker,64, with over 32 years of running experience including 5 marathons.
I have a high instep and the step in feel was great ..just like the Cumulus 13. I am border line 2e in forefoot but there is ample room for my foot. somebody with thin ankles might feel they want something snugger in the heel,,Have only done a couple of short runs in the them so durability questions I can't address at this point but the ride was typical Cumulus..semi soft but with decent responsiveness . If you loved the 13 (like I did), then you will like these...they are a bit lighter,too..Recommend
