The 33M has been a refreshing change and seems to work really well for me. I did try the Hoka, but the Asics 33M seems to be a much better shoe.

Asics hits it out of the park with their response to Hoka or Altra running shoes. I am a neutral + ultra marathon runner who has tried several pairs of Hoka and Altra shoes without success. Fortunately Asics has come out with the 33M which has ticked every box for me. A comfortable, supportive shoe for long distance running. The shoe is light weight, responsive, well cushioned for hours of training or racing. I would highly recommend this shoe over Hoka's or Altra's. I'm really happy with the pair I purchased and will be purchasing more. Thank you Road Runner Sports for recommending them to me!

I've run/walked in Asics Gel Cumulus and Gel Nimbus for years. But, not any more. This shoe feels better for running and walking.
Pros Cons Best Uses 50ish daily runner, 30 to 35 miles a week. My old knees need the cushion. Made the journey through Vomero 4s, 5s and 6s, jumped over to Nimbus because the Vomero 7s were intolerable. Rode those (loved the fit) until last year when I tried my 1st pair of Hoka Cliftons. While the fit of the Hoka's wasn't perfect (Constant fit better than Clifton), the cushion and low drop made running a pleasure again (no knee soreness or plantar fasciitis flare ups) . Now, these 33 M's are the best of both worlds. I have a narrow heal and wide foot, so unlike the previous poster, the fit without sizing up is perfect for me. The cushioning is amazing, and the low drop (thanks to Hoka) has given me my proper stride back. A little heavier than the Hokas, but I'm not trying to shave seconds off of my mile splits at this point in my life.

Best Uses Hoka alternative this can work .. but don't expect a hoka .. it has lots of cushioning but its kinda like a Brooks Transcend with more EVA...if that makes sense .. i ran on the road and they seem very stable... the cushion is soft with a hard re-enforcement EVA .. i like this shoe but 4 stars cause it runs big and its gonna be hard to get this shoe to feel secure..reminds me of the Hoka Constant ..Once again only one run in them .. who knows maybe they will wear on me and will break in better ..
