Best Uses When my shoes arrived, I was excited because of the reviews I'd read and how pretty they were! When I first put them on, they felt cushy and the toe box seemed wide enough. I ordered a 7 1/2 which is typical for a running shoe for me (I normally wear a 7 in regular shoes.) I didn't have any pain, but by the time I got home my 3 toes on both feet were numb. Thinking my socks were too thick, I tried them one more day with thinner socks. The same thing happened. I am sending back and going back to my Nike Vomero's.

I had been suffering with pain at the base of my toes on one foot. This shoe feels like I'm walking on a cloud. I wish I could wear these all the time!
I don't normally write reviews but love these shoes so decided to go for it. I'm an 8.5 (these run true to size), 5'6 165pds and work out 5 days a week on average. I run and do HIIT type workouts and love these shoes for both. The only days I rotate them out are days I'm doing just abs and weights as I prefer a flatter shoe for those. The toe box on these are a little wide if that is a concern for you. Otherwise these conform well to your foot, especially in the heel and have a lot of cushion. I normally get the custom inserts at RR and didn't even need to do so with these. My last running shoes were the Brooks Glycerin 12 which I loved but prefer these. Highly recommend!
An earlier reviewer mentioned that these shoes were equivalent to running in quick sand. I equate the experience to running on pillows. They literally blew my mind how soft they were. I just felt like I couldn't really get going. Tried them on a short run ... have to send them back unfortunately.
I loved the new design with less toe cap seaming, but they now are narrower in the arches and my orthotics don't sit firmly there and the squeak with every step. I sent the first pair back thinking it was just that pair, but the 2nd pair did the same. I kept them, but try not to wear them when the squeaking will drive others nuts. I have been stocking up on nimbus 16s.
I have been running in the asics nimbus series for 6 years, this version (NIMBUS 17) is the best yet! Amazing cushion, yet lightweight. Absolutely love them and just ordered another pair!

This is by far the best running shoe I have had. Ultra comfortable, light weight, and the design is flattering. I usually have to replace the insoles that come with shoes, but these felt just fine. Lots of cushion, but not too much either. I'm very pleased and will be buying another pair in a different color. You never know if the next model will be just as good!
I was so excited to order these, since I loved model 15, and was disappointed in 16. The fit was great, and walking in them was great. Running in them was a bit difficult, they have sort of a 'spongy' feel and were not rebounding quickly. I would agree with the reviewer who compared the experience to 'running in wet sand'. I'm a longer-distance runner, but was quite sore after a 2-mile trial run in these shoes. Unfortunately, had to send them back.

I ran in every version of the Asics Landreth. I loved them all and was very disappointed when it was discontinued. So in 2012/2013 I started looking for a new shoe. I tried an Asics Lyte33 (first version), Mizuno Wave Rider, Skecher's GoRun, and even a pair of Nike's. The Asics were recommended by RRS as a replacement for the Landreth but it gave me blisters and was to thin on cushioning.

This is the best model of the Nimbus yet! I have been wearing Nimbus for ~4 years now and have gone through many pairs and generations of the shoe. Most recently, the Nimbus-15. I skipped the 16's as I liked the 15's and wore through 6 or so pairs of those including 2 half marathons and 1 full marathon. The 17's are the most cushioned yet, everyday I put them on it is literally like running on a cloud. The support of the 15's with incredible comfort! For reference, I am a petite 20 something who runs anywhere from 10-30 miles a week.
I have worn this shoe and prior versions for several years now and I have to say they are excellent in comfort and support. I have been running for over 35 years and I have tried many shoes. I use these shoes for every distance from 6 miles up to a marathon. The only time I don't run in them is on specific trail runs and even then I believe they would be just fine. Some of my road runs take me on trails for a few miles and these shoes work just fine for non-technical terrain. I also use super feet inserts in the shoes as I have a high arch and need the additional arch support. I usually have at least two good pairs at all times so that I can rotate my shoes. Once they are worn on the heels and bottoms, and the tops start to break down, I ditch them to the garden shoe pile and buy new ones. I don't believe anyone should try to "save money" by continuing to wear worn broken down shoes. Protect your feet and toes because they are "very important" to pain free running. By the way I run between a 9 min. And 10 min. mile. For faster runners there may be a lighter alternative, but this shoe still seems lite.
Not for anyone with bunion issues. The material on the forefoot does not stretch and there is a hard plastic seam inside the shoe over the large toe joint area, this causes blisters and pain is you have this problem.

I am very impressed with the new version of the Gel Nimbus 17. I tried on a 1/2 size too big just to see what they felt like and I was in heaven!!! I had to have them so I went to 7 different stores until I finally found my size! I have been an avid runner ever since my High School days where I ran X-Country. I just love running but, unfortunately, about 4 years ago I was diagnosed with a rare bone disease in my left foot. I used to be able to run in the cute but probably unhealthy shoes all the time. I can now, only run in Asics. The Asics Gel Nimbus is the only shoe that has provided me with enough shock absorption to curve my foot pain during running. I still have a bit of discomfort but I can actually run in these shoes with a bit of on and off walking. Thank You Asics for seriously helping me to have a better quality of life. Addicted to running, can't give it up, so...good and somewhat pricey shoes are the only way that I can still run. Well worth it! My feet did get a bit hot in them but it wasn't unbearable or painful. The cushion, support, and heel cushion/support are what I value over temperature. Hoping to get a second pair in the black ones but for now, I have the white with the green and coral color. They are nice and bright for summer! Seriously love these shoes!

The Nimbus 17 is great compared to the 16 (which I had to send back). Seems a little bit lighter than previous models, but still has guts to it. The cushioning system is pliable, but not squishy.

I'm a fan of Asics but this shoe fits me better than any shoe I can remember. Oddly, I didn't try this one on before buying it. Maybe that's the key to finding the right shoe!
I loved the 15 and was really disappointed in the lack of cushioning on the 16. I love the cushioning on the 17. Even just trying it on, I was so impressed. I've only had my first pair maybe less than a month and am already contemplating buying another as back up. This is the favorite running shoe I have ever owned. I would recomment this to anyone who likes a cushioned running shoe.
There is no rebound to this shoe. I felt like I was running in soft sand. After an easy 5 miler, the muscles in my back felt strained. I really wanted to like this shoe because it fit really well. This shoe probably would work best for walkers. Pros
Cons Best Uses I ran 7 miles the first time I wore them. The cushioning is the best ever. I loved the 15's and was very disappointed in the 16's so I switched to Saucony for a year. I was so happy to see the changes and absolutely love the 17's. I will get another pair or two. I hope they don't change anything about them.

These are the most cushioned running shoes I have had on my feet since the Nike Vomero 3. When Nike changed those I started the search for the next best thing and no other Nike's have compared. I have had a few other Asics that have come close, but these top all! They run smaller than any other Asics I have worn. I normally buy an 8, sizing up for running shoes, and needed 8.5 in these. I have put a few miles on these and if they wear well, I will be stocking up!

Great shoe! I have been running in the Kayano's for years but have been experiencing a lot of heel pain with the newer Kayano models, 19 and 20. Decided to try out the new Nimbus 17 and so far they have been great, finally have the extra cushion and stablity I was missing! Average 35 miles a week.

I absolutely love these shoes. I really liked my GEL-Nimbus 15's, and have been waiting for a couple of months for the 17's to come out. I read Asics had really improved upon the cusioning compared to the 16's and what I read was right! These might be the most cusioned/comfortable running shoe I've ever owned.

I walk and speed walk. I just got these yesterday morning and wore them the entire day and walked a couple miles. They were so comfortable! This in my 3rd pair of nimbus. I can't find anything else that compares in comfort. BUT, these are by far the most cushiony comfy ones I've had so far. Color is great too! I have the lite show nimbus in pink/black which are cute but the color knida clashes with stuff (sorry, I care) but these will match with more and are a lot more comfortable! Love them and Love that I got them cheaper then any other site!! Thanks Roadrunnersports!!
