I have been wearing Kayano's for 10 years now. However, I decided to purchase the XI to save a few dollars and because of the great reviews on this web site. I know I wore them at some point and I definitely do not remember having a problem with them at the time. However, after just a few 8 mile runs in them my knees were hurting badly as well as my toes were rubbing together. I have never had sore knees. I bought a pair of the Kenyano 16's immediately and my knees and toes stopped hurting right away. I am not saying the 16's are perfect because they are not. But what a support difference between the versions. Anybody else experience this?

about a half a size too small. I have work ASICS 2100 series for years in an 8.5. I ordered these in the same size and they are definitely too small. Not enough toe room. Other than that, they feel like a great shoe. Excited to exchange for larger size.

I'm on my 6th pair of these shoes. I both run, walk and do dog agility (involving lots of stops, starts and twisting) in them. The shoe just fits and stays put. It feels light, provide great support, comfort and the cushioning is superb. This is the only shoe that I've worn where my knees didn't hurt after a day of dog agility.
The newer Kayano don't seem quite as good -- they seem more spongey with less cushioning and a loosy goosey fit.
The only downside to this shoe is that the soles do wear down after a few hundred miles but then I just get new ones... The fact that my knees stay in great shape with this shoe trumps all.

I am buying my second pair of these shoes. I LOVE THE SUPPORT and cushion these provide. I have had my current pair for over 1 1/2 years and am back for my second pair. I only run less than 10 mi/week, but I made the big mistake of wearing these shoes to work almost everyday because they were so comfortable. I have been able to tell that this pair is too worn for about a month now and can't wait for a new pair!!

I just ran a half marathone in this shoe.....never wore the shoe prior to the race, barely trained for the run and not one blister, not an ounce of foot or shin pain. In fact I am on here to buy my second pair

I have been running over 25 years and this is the worst shoe that I have ever worn. I felt like I was running is sandles, this shoe has no cushion what so ever. Back to the wave Nirvana.

I was really hesitant to change shoes, but it was worth it. I have a terrible time finding shoes narrow enough in the toe box. These were the best fit by far, in years. Anxious to see what transpires after some longer runs in the coming weeks.

I have been running with this shoe since it came out... I wore the 12's for the short time they were available and loved them just as much the asics kayano 13 and 14 both tore my shins and ankles to bits. I only wore the 14's once and knew there was no improvement from the 13, I got shin splints after only a 3 mile run on the tred-mil! I am returning them for probably my 6th or 7th pair of the kayano 11. I am 5'8'' tall 115lbs and run 30-40 miles per week

I just ordered my 3rd pair of XI's! Returned a pair of XIII's ---they felt and looked like clown shoes compared to the same sized XI's --I like the tighter mesh weave and smaller toe-box of the XI and I know they are comfortable for long runs as well as stylish for just hanging out.

I will never ever buy another pair of running shoes. These shoes actually make me want to get out and run. I used to run once a month if I had to, but now I'm running 3-5 miles everyday and loving every second. It's definitely the shoe- no joke. You won't be disappointed.

Not the cheapest shoes, but these are the best. Used a pair to train for a marathon last year and another pair to run the race. Not a single blister or foot problem and the shoes do not wear out quickly. Each pair lasted me at least 500 miles.

Hands down the best shoe I have ever run in. I log 40-50 miles per week, and have tried many different shoes. Had the mizuno wave rider (ok), and the Nike Air Max Moto 2's (not a fan of them). This shoe is firmer than those two, but the support and control made up for it. I am 6'2" 200 lbs and have logged over 500 miles on my current pair without any signs of wear and tear on them or me. These things are great!

I have run in the Kayano for years without any problems until now. Now I am having knee problems. They changed something because I don not have the support I have had in the past.

Fit me like a glove. I tried other shoes and my knee didn't like them (unless you like the feeling of having an ice pick jabbed in your knee). I switched back to Kayano XI's and the knee paid disappeared instantly.

I'm 59, 5'10" and 200 lbs with low arches. I had been using ASICS 20XX series, but bumped up to these. I went 1/2 size up, and would recommend that as a minimum. The shoes didn't really feel that great out of the box, but on my first 4 mile run this morning they felt great. I just felt fresher when done with none of the hip pain I sometimes get. Cushioning was very good, and there was good room in the forefoot. Maybe I'll get in more miles now :)
