Marathoners "Dream Shoe"

5

When training for a marthon or jut going out for long weekend runs to track or tempo workouts I always use the ASICS GT-2110 Running Shoe. I was fitted for this shoe back in 2004 and have been true to shoe ever since. The 2110 shoe became "endangered" and I could only find it at RoadRuner Sports, so what do I do I purchase 2 pairs of sneakers at a time. I alternated days between the sneakers. This extends the life of the sneaker. I have ran my fastest marathon 3:43 in these sneakers and plan to run even faster! I recomend this sneaker to all runners who need stability and I recomend the Ascic brand to all runners in general!

I love my new running shoe!

5

My shoes are still pretty new to me but I love them. I have small feet and find it difficult to find my true size. I wear (depending on style, of course) from a size 5 to 5 1/2 and I think I have narrow feet as these are medium. These shoes although slightly too wide I do find them to be extremely comfortable. I am very particular about my shoes and only buy the best because my feet are what hold me up and without comfort on my feet I am miserable. I would recommend these shoes to anyone.

I love my new Asics

5

On average I run 20-25 miles a week. I found my new Asics perfect for an avid road racer like me. They are holding up great, and they are so lightweight. I was wearing Asics Kayano XI prior to this pair of Asics and I find these to be just as good at a fraction of the price. These shoes offer stability without the added weight. I would highly recommend them. On my first run with my new Asics I felt like I had the energy of a child with a new pair of shoes.

Love this Shoe!

5

This shoe fits like it was made for only me. It is lightweight, flexible, and at the same time, very stable on any surface. I have 4 pairs of this shoe and pray that they never quit making this Style. It allowed me to throw away orthotics and walk away without break in. It allows me to be on my feet for 12-18 hour days. I love it!

THE BEST RUNNING SNEAKERS

5

I have worn these shoes for the last 7 years. I work out hard core cardio, 4 hours a week -- including 16 miles a week of running at 7.6 mph. They are so lightweight, durable and a truly great fit. They are so much lighter than Nikes. I don't know what more expensive models offer but these are amazing at a decent price. Road Runner also had a great price.

Back to an old favorite

5

Having switched to another model for my last pair of shoes that may have contributed to plantar fasciitis, I am back to my old favorite. I'm only running 3 miles while rehabbing the foot, but these shoes feel great and I should have stuck by my old reliable shoes, instead of going for the bright shiny new models.

Comfortable shoe for long distance

5

I've trained for a marathon in this shoe, and the GT-2140. I can't tell the difference. The GT-2110 seems to be better value. One note about sizing: This shoe fits true to size, unlike the 2140. I wear a womens 8 in street shoes, 8.5 in running shoes. I had to go to a size 9 in the 2140. So I ordered this shoe in 9, too. It was too big. My normal running shoes size (8.5) feels just right.

Stiff...

2

I started XC season with Saucony Progrid Omnis. Purchased these for everyday walking and gym class. As soon as I put them on I noticed they were MUCH more stiff than my Sauconies. When I run in gym, I feel like my feet are pounding the pavement with every step, unlike in my Sauconies where I feel like I can actually run well. They work well enough for my budget, but I will not be puchasing them again.

Love the 2000/2100 series

5

I love this line of shoes. I have been wearing the progression of the 2000/2100 series for 13 years now. I don't even try them on. I just get size 8.5 of the latest shoe...and I know I will be good to go. They've lasted me a high school, collegiate, and now post-collegiate running career...and I still love them.

Good shoe, great price

5

I've been buying this shoe and its predecessors for years. Does the trick for me. It takes an orthotic well and there's enough room in the toe box for my ever-growing bunion. I wear an 8 in street shoes and I always order an 8.5 in running shoes. The 8.5 fits me perfectly.

Only slight stability needed here!

5

I'm a larger and taller runner than many with high arches and this shoe is excellent! For those who need only a little stability this is the shoe. Toe box is perfect for those needing the width. I'm on my second pair and would highly recommend this. Comfortable to boot!

I do 5Ks almost every weekend but was having trouble finding a shoe to live up to my Nikes that weren't produced anymore. These have totally fit the bill. Didn't take much to break them in at all. They feel better to me on the pavement than the treadmill but overall they are great.

I use this shoe for everyday wear. I walk on pavement, uneven ground, and in the gym. This shoe fits perfectly, cushions my foot for long hours, requires no additional orthotics. Great arch support!

Great all-around shoe! Good support, and very breathable. Only downside they leave a dark area on my carpet if I wear them for aerobics in my basement as do all my Asics. Does come up easily though with a light carpet cleaner.

I wish I could give these ...

1

I wish I could give these shoes less than 1 star. Asics used to be my favorite shoe. I called them my "car" because I put them on straight out of the box and they took me wherever I wanted to go, from a 5k to a marathon. I'm a tall woman and have always had to run in men's shoes because of my long, narrow feet. I used to run in Kayanos until Spril 2001 when they totally changed the design and were too wide for my feet. I recently settled on the GT-2110 because it came in a men's narrow, but I find that with each new model Asics manages to make a cheaper, less supportive and less cushioned shoe. My pair scarcely lasted 3 months before it lost all ability to slow my pronation and my forefoot and knees ached from the dead cushioning. Additionally, I have run slower in these shoes than any other. A new model is being released by November 1st, so I can only hope it is better. The 2110 will be on sale, but my advice is DON"T BUY THEM. I wouldn't take another pair for free.

A Favorite Standby for Years

I am an avid runner/triathlete and love this shoe. Recently, I have added additional cushion due to my high arches and this works great. It's affordable, especially when you need new shoes every few months.

I've been running in the ...

2

I've been running in the Asics 2XXX series for several years, and have usually been pleased with each updated model. However, after 4 runs on my new 2110s, I've decided I will have to send them back. I've never sent shoes back before. It feels like the toe box is actually narrower, or maybe the shoe just fits a little bit smaller than before, or perhaps the changes to the forefoot have altered the way the shoe flexes in the toe box. But in any case, my three outer toes on each foot, as well as the balls of my feet, have been falling asleep/getting numb after a mile or so. I set out for an 8 mile run and had to stop after 4 miles because I could not feel my feet and I was worried about doing permanent damage! A run on the treadmill (usually a forgiving running surface) also caused the same problem. I will be ordering another pair of 2100s while they're still available and hoping the 2120s are better...

The Asics 2210s are great shoes for distance and endurance training. I run all of my mid-distance training runs in the 2110s, and they have offered great support without being too cushioned.

I was unsure whether to ...

5

I was unsure whether to give these a shot or to buy 10 pairs of the GT2100s...I'm glad I took the chance, and I thought I'd write the review I wish I could've seen. I'm a small-to-medium frame, neutral runner (my foot doesn't roll inward or outward). I have a narrow heel, wide forefoot and high arch, which usually combines to create the feeling that my foot is "fighting" with shoes that are designed for more stability. Highly cushioned shoes always feel like they have a little too much room inside, like my foot is swimming in cushioning. The 2110s are like the 2100s in fit (nice and snug at the heel, plenty of space for my toes), I take the same size in both, and they are perfect. It feels like there is a touch more arch support in these (fine with me). These Asics have once again struck just the right balance between cushioning and stability. Huzzah!

5

at first i didn't like these shoes, they made me feel like i was running on a platform 2 inches off the ground (sounds cool, but it isn't). It also felt like there was no heel lift at all, thus making the shoe feel slow. But after about 5 runs of about 5 miles they set very well and now they feel great. i think this is because of the "space trussic system." anyway, now that they are broken in they feel amazing. they definietly aren't like the 2100 although i really liked those too (i am a loyal to the 2000 series), but the two shoes feel very different, there is a little more stability in the 2110s and the ride is a little smoother. i have about 200 miles on my first pair and they show no signs of breaking down anytime soon. 5'11'', 160, medium arch, moderate pronator

Hate is a strong word. I've worn ASICS 2100 series for a couple of years now. Enjoyed the 2140s and now the 2150s. I bought the 2110s because they were on sale but found there wasn't enough cushioning in the toe region. I felt this way from day one and ran about 100 miles in them before giving up and succumbing to buying something else. I require a bit of extra support as I am 5'9 but these did not provide it!

I have been using 2110's for years and did like them. The last two pairs, however, have seemed to wear out within a few months. The tread on the bottom just seems to disappear now which stinks since I did love the feel of them and have no other problems. Granted these aren't the most expensive shoes out there, but they should last more than 3 months for a walker like me.

Initially, these shoes seemed above average. They wore out very quickly, however, and became hard on my joints (esp. knees) and aggravated my Achilles tendon. I've worn the 2080, 2100 and various Nimbus shoes over the years. The 2110 is the first shoe to cause me problems. I developed metatarsal problems at the base of my toes from the excessive flexibility of this shoe in the forefoot. I compared the sole of the 2100 and the 2110. The 2100 has a flex groove that zig zags across the sole, the 2110 has a straight flex groove. The result is the 2110 bends easier at the forefoot causing increased pressure at the base of the toes. I switch to the Nimbus which has a stiffer forefoot and my toe problems slowly went away.

This shoe feels good while I'm running in it; good cushioning and response. But it looks like it doesn't control my overpronation. After 73 miles the soles are wearing on the inside front, plus I kick my ankle sometimes when bringing my foot forward, which tells me I'm toeing off on the inside of my foot. These shoes are heavy--and for no good reason, because they don't control anything. I've been rotating them with the 1110 and the new balance 766. And those seem to work fine, with outsole wear in the middle.

This was the first asics I ever wore and the every time I ran with it it gave me bad metatarsal pain every time that I had to stop less than a mile into a run. The heel feels really loose. Only good thing I can say that is good is the cushioning.

I've run in ASCICS since the '70s (remember the "Extender"?) and the 1000 and 2000 lines have generally been great. I thought the GT2100 was a perfect shoe. The GT2110 has a really hard heel counter, and is rubs the back of my heel like the GT2100 never did (or any other ASCICS shoe I've worn). I ended up lacing it more loosely, and the problem went away (try it!). The "ride" of the GT2110 is very nice, and I think its mechanics are as good or better than the GT2100. Just wish they'd do something about the heel counter.

I'm blaiming severe tibialis anterior tendonits on these shoes. These won't replace your 2090s or 2100s.

Went from Asics Gel Landreth to 2110. Much happier in 2110s. Feel more supported and cushioned.

I tend to alternate between Mizuno and Asics - they both seem to deliver consistent product. The 2110 offers a perfect cucshioning/support blend and provide a "natural" running stride to boot, something I felt was somewhat lacking in previuos iterations. Great shoe.

rating was incorrect I can give 3 star to GT-2110 cushioning is always great..! but very wide more gt-2100 very wide uppper, very wide toebox more than gt-2100 very sloppy feeling..and heel height is lower than gt-2100 ..so slow feeling...this shoes is suitable about LONG-SLOW-RUNNING..

This shoes is sturdy and very stable. It provides good cushioning and is light. After running several miles, the gel in the fore-foot is a HUGE relief. Highly recommend this shoe for most anyone.

Have used the ASIC 2xxx series for about 4 years now. First off, I fit perfect into a 12.5 with the 2090's, but with the 2110 it was too long and had to size down to a 12. Also, I need the posted sole or else I get shin splits, but going from the 2090 to the 2110, I developed shin splits within a few days. Since the 2090 is no longer available, I bought the 2100, and they seem ok, so far.

I have been wearing Asics GT-2100 and these feel pretty much the same. I love this series so I have to give them 5 stars.

I have been wearing Asics 2000 series for the last few years. I have wide feet, low arches and wear orthotics. I was pleased with more cushioning of 2110 compared to the last model, but it seemed that the toe box got narrower than 2100 - my toenails bruised in the outside of the foot which never happened before with previous models. I liked the width of 2100 better.

If you like the 2090, you will like the 2110. Ran on several pairs of 2090's and was worried about the later models especially after reading everything about the 2100's. BUT no fears! The 2110 rocks. A bit roomy compared to the 2090's but feel very similiar. After 4 short and 1 long run (12 miles), no problems and am very happy with the purchase. Will be sure to buy a ton before the next model comes out.

Huzzah!

I JUST WENT BACK TO RUNNING WITH ASICS,FROM RUNNING WITH NIKE SHOXS. I PUT ABOUT 4 TO 5 MILES A DAY ON AVERAGE; AND FOUND THE NEW GT2110 ARE PERFECT IN COMFORT AND STABILITY. I PURCHASE NEW SNEAKERS ABOUT EVERY 3-4 MONTHS;I WILL SURELY BUY ANOTHER PAIR OF THESE ASICS AS THEY ARE ABOUT THE BEST PAIR OF RUNNING SNEAKERS I'VE HAD IN QUIET AWHILE.

Just rotated back to Asics after Mizunu Wave rider 8. These felt like they give back energy in every strike, even though I was running in 35 degrees. Love the big toe box, and set a recent PR first time out... Great update...
