i am 130lbs, 5'5", and stability runner. of all the brands i have worn, none can compare (in my opinion) to the structure, durability - 500miles +, and cushion that the GT2110s give. this is the LAST quality shoe Asics makes in this line....period. please please please continue this tradition!

I'm a lightweight runner - averaging between 55-70 mpw depending on my motivation, and though I used to switch from Mizuno Alchemy's to the 2110's, I've used these exclusively for the last 2 years. I have to say, this shoe is amazing. True, alchemy's feel more structured to begin with, but they're hard as a board and their support doesn't last. These shoes are really durable. They can last over 500 miles for me, and though they're not very light, the cushioning is superb - a real help on long road runs.

Thu, October 22,2009:
I normally wouldn't write a review of a product I've purchased, but ASICS has hit a home run with this shoe and it's worth noting. As a runner for the last 30 years, I've tried a lot of shoes, from many manufacturers. Most stability and motion control shoes are clunky, hard and interfere with my natural gait. The GT-2110 is none of those things, and everything good. Great arch support, and phenomenal cushioning. This shoe encourages my natural gait, and the evidence is in the sound of my footfalls when I run on pavement - quiet. I don't know how they engineered this shoe, but I bought 3 pairs once I realized how good they were. 5 Stars.

I agree...best shoe I've ever worn and I've raced cross country and all through high school. You put them on and you feel like going fast. Almost feels like a racing flat, but it's definitey a trainer. I am a huge Nike fan...but these are the best. I am thinking of getting a second pair just in case Asics stops making them.

I am a huge fan of the ASICS 2110 shoe.
Been running in these shoes for about
4 yrs now. Tried the 2140, GEL series,
Brooks Adrenaline, and Mizuno Wave-Inspire. None can match the midsole or heel placement as well as
heel toe transitions. If ever this shoe
is discontinued, I will buy enough to
last me a good while.

I have been buying ASIC GT shoes for the last 8+ years since this winning line has consistantly supported me through numerous short runs and 3 marathons. As a new floor nurse, I have found that the GT has give me the best foot support and least discomfort when taking care of my patients during 12 hour shifts. Although my knees have recently put a crimp on my running I can still stay mobile via the great comfort and support offered by the GT line. Note that my favorite remains the GT2110's. Newer isn't always better. Asics has taken this step recently with their new shoes. The GT-2110 was the last generation that was considered as a great running shoe. However, economics forced Asics to make a "newer" version so they can "charged" a higher price. When Roadrunnersports came out again with this running shoe as a classic, I immediately got 2 pairs. I must state it is the exact same running shoe that was the GT-2110. These shoes was selling out fast and they didn't have the size I wanted to re-order. I immediately purchase 3 more pairs as soon as they were in stock again on 9/15/2008. As long as Roadrunner still carry this shoe, I will never buy another different pair. That's how great these shoes are.

These are some solid shoes. Ran 25 - 30 mpw in them for a couple years and never had any problems. I have the 2130s now. Not as good. The toe box is wider and the shoe seems longer. I'm about 6' and 175 lbs and enjoyed them. When they wear out they are hard on the knees and back, but that's the case for most shoes. Great buy, great shoe.

Typically run in the Asics DS13s but needed a more cushioned stability shoe for longer runs. Hard to find a stability shoe WITHOUT a wide toebox (I need normal toebox). Ran in this shoe twice. Both times my heels hurt so bad I had to limp through 3 miles and cut my runs short. Still love the DS13s, but where did the good asics stability shoes go?

I agree with JOHN V
gt-2110 is best shoes that i had worn ever..
but gt-2120 is worst shoes..
gt-2120 is perfectly different with gt-2110....
solyte midsole is perfect mistake.
Asics must come back to speva./
Why does not asics know their mistake?
Many runner disappoint downgrade cushioning of gt-2120.
Asics must know their big mistake.

I disagree with the people that say this is not a good shoe for distance. I ran five 1/2 marathons in these and they are easily the best shoes I have ever worn. The new 2120 are horrible shoes. I bought the wide and the still dig into my arches. The 2120 are cut so much more narrow it feels like a totaly different shoe.

Mon, December 11,2006:
Good shoes, but feel a bit heavy - they feel heavier than the 12.5 oz advertized. Also, my second toe always gets a blister on the end, which I've never had in Nikes, New Balance or Brooks. Heel feels a little loose, but has caused no problems (no blisters anywhere but the second toe). Otherwise, though, has been a comfortable shoe for 5k's through half marathons. Very durable. I'm 6 ft, 220 lbs, medium arch.

An adequate shoe for smaller or average-sized runners, and only if you have no gait or fit issues. The insole is worthless, get new ones for better support and cush regardless of runner size. May be a tight fit for some orthotic users, test drive before buying! Buy 'em on sale only, not the best value at the regular price.

I agree with the previous review about the shoe's durability. I brought a brand new pair for a marathon and I was feeling the road by mile 18. It felt like I was running in an old pair of shoes; no responsiveness, energy return or cushioning at all. These shoes are definitely not for long runs or marathons.

I wrote a review that was removed. In fact, I see that most of the reviews of this shoe were removed, with only the most recent and most favorable left. What's up with the censorship guys? How are people supposed to make an informed decision if reviews are edited? My review was unfavorable because that was my experience. These shoes were not at all durable (the cushioning was dead in less than 3 months) and these did little to slow down my rate of pronation. I emphatically would NOT recommend these shoes to anyone. I suppose now that a new version (the GT-2120) is out you want to unload the GT-2110s you have in stock, but it shouldn't be at the expense of your customers.

Tue, October 24,2006:
These are great training shoes for someone who needs a blend of cushioning and stability. I am on the heavy side (185 lbs.), with high arches, but I also have problems with pronation (don't believe those shoe guides that claim high arches underpronation -- I typically crush the medial-side midsole of most "cushioned" shoes after about 50 miles). The 2110's have worked pretty well for me. My only complaint would be that they don't seem to provide me with enough cushioning for long runs on paved surfaces. This isn't really a problem for me since about 95% of my running is done on unpaved surfaces.
I doubt if there is a shoe that would work better for me at this price. If I was running a lot on pavement, I would probably consider shelling out the extra bucks for a pair of Nike Air Max.

I've been using the 2000 series since I started marathoning 8 years ago. They always have a great ride and I don't have to go up in size like I do with other brands. Great cushioning, not heavy and even with my high weekly mileage, they last a long time. You can't go wrong with these shoes.
