These are very comfortable and good-looking. I was able to fit my orthotic into the shoe and wear it immediately.

It's about 4 months and here's my verdict: the 3 stars I gave them were too many. The sides are too high and kept giving me blisters on my ankle bones. The leather uppers still haven't molded to my foot shape and they don't breathe. I have to wonder if they really are leather or just pleather (leather looking plastic/faux leather). Fortunately, I bought them a half size large and put in a Dr. Scholl's OdorX. That has helped lift my ankles away from the sides so I'm no longer getting blisters and reduced the perspiration causing my feet to feel cold. But they are a little tight now and I can only where them with the thinnest socks.

I am an older person with flat feet and weak ankles. I do not work out much but try to walk periodically and ride a stationary bike.

When the shoes first arrived and I put them on, even before walking around the house, I found them uncomfortable in 2 areas in particular:

(1) the area across the toes is cut shallow so it rubs agains the top of my foot -- and this is after having purchased a 1/2 size larger as per suggestion; and

(2) the area around the ankle is very high and it rubs against my ankle bone.

After about 2 hours I had tender spots on both my feet.

The next day I put them on and wore them most of the day. As I'd hoped, the leather started conforming to my foot and the discomfort has reduced.

I realize shoes need to be broken in, but I do feel these particular problems could have been avoided had the tops been cut a little larger (so they are higher off the toes) and the sides a little shorter (so they don't rub against the ankle).

Overall, the only plus I have to offer and the only reason I took a chance with these shoes, is that they have leather uppers. For me this means they are breathable (which reduces sweating and therefore cold feet) and leather conforms to the foot shape in time.
