    I use the Asics Trabuco 13 for high mileage trail running and have used the Trabuco 12 and Trabuco 11 to train for and complete the Leadville 100 trail race in the past. The 13 is slightly lighter weight, has good support, a roomy toe box and a narrow, snug, secure heel. The shoe has proven to be very durable and holds up well to high mileage and 60-90 mile weeks. The only negative is that the outsoles are very slippery on wet trail surfaces, and after stream crossings traction is poor until they dry off. I choose to cut off the pocket on the tongue designed to tuck away the laces, as this is a silly innovation on Asics part, I have never caught my laces on anything after many thousands of miles of running and I feel the pocket gets in the way of effective lacing and adds unnecessary weight. That said, I plan to run the Leadville 100 this year, once again, in the Trabuco 13.

        I've been really happy with this line of Asics trail shoes. They are very consistent year to year. No worries about buying them without trying them on first; the fit is always consistent. And no break-in; did a 10-mile trail run the day I took them out of the box. Will definitly buy another pair when these wear out.

          Love the shoe; it is great on trails. I cannot tell how it behaves on wet trail yet, but if it does all right, i think i will stick with them for a while
