I run trails about 95% of my mileage which is from 35 to 40 miles per week, except during the really cold, snowy winter months. I was thrilled when Asics made this trail shoe with good forefoot flexibiity even lighter. It is rugged without being overbuilt. ASICS makes subtle changes in lacing, color and graphics from time to time, but the shoe remains a classic and my favorite. I buy anywhere from 3 to 4 pairs per year.

I prefer the Asics Gel Trabuco GTX, but these are a decent alternative seeing as though they discontinued the GTX's. I like the shoes but wouldn't call them absolute trail running shoes at all. Too thin of a sole and too many holes in the man-made upper make for major sand collection and a sometimes rocky ride.

I bought these to replace an older version of the same and I am very pleased that they fit and feel the same. I love that they are pretty waterproof keeping my feet dry under most conditions.

Love the tongues that allow you to tuck in your laces. For someone that is always tripping over hers and untying them by accident, the little pocket is the perfect solution.

Love the Trabuco line, but feel that the Trabuco 12 was much more cushioned than the 13. It is still a great shoe for mixed terrain, but feel more rocks in this shoe than in the 12. Would still recommend this shoe highly.

So, this shoe's traction is not as great as other trail runners I've tried - HOWEVER - being a HUGE Nimbus fan - this is a more rugged version of the Nimbus and I love them despite the lack of traction.

This shoe fits well in the heel and arch areas while the toe box is generous. I run on many surfaces and traction has never been a problem.

I needed a motion control trail shoe, and while this one isn't labeled motion control, it was the shoe with the most stability I could find. It has proven to be just as comfortable, and supportive as my motion control Asics that I recently bought. I love the look of the shoe, the comfort, and the protection this trail shoe provides. All around, a great shoe!
