I have been less and less happy with most Asics over the past few years, particularly as production has shifted to Vietnam. It seems there is often some bulge or seam under the ball of my foot, and I've had to return several pairs. These ones (from Indonesia) were very straightforward: lightweight training shoes with simple but effective cushioning, and very comfortable. Most notable for me is that they were comfortable right out of the box. Often it takes several hundred miles for Asics to wear down enough to be comfortable, but this was not the case here.
