      My concern with a compression style short that is any shorter in length than 5" is that the legs will ride up while running. While I've had this problem with another brand of shorts that are 4" in length, I've not had this problem with these. The rubber band at the hem keeps the legs firmly in place without being too constricting. The Brooks shorts also were flattering around the hips and waist. I wish they made these in other colors aside from plain black - I'd order more!

            I absolutely love these shorts! They are short enough to be stylish and sleek but long enough to protect from chafing. The gripping band inside of the bottom hem keeps them from riding up. They are snug but not too tight. I also love that the waistband hits at a comfortable position just above the hips… not too high or too low! I will buy one in every color!
