Product Description:Women's BROOKS® CASCADIA 5 :: Trail aficionados love this shoe for its brilliant blend of traction, cushioning and support. Now you'll love it even more! The women's Brooks® Cascadia 5 is updated with a few minor adjustments to the upper. Enjoy more-open mesh for greater breathability. It also allows water to flow out more easily when running through water crossings. You'll also notice a more secure midfoot fit for greater comfort. Don't worry, the cushy, supportive midsole is still the same, as is the super-grippy outsole. 10.0 ounces Category Type:

Comments about Womens Brooks Cascadia 5 Trail Running Shoe: Initially I was impressed with this shoe. It was sloppy in the fit so I thought a thicker sock may help. I just completed a 35 mile one day trail run with a thicker sock. I still had to lace up the shoes a little tighter. The downhill sections were long and the laces bruised my tendons on the front part of the joint. The shoe is rugged, good cushion, and lightweight. It just does not work for me on tough trails with lots of rocks and hills.

Comments about Womens Brooks Cascadia 5 Trail Running Shoe: I was resistant to switching over to Brooks Cascadia from my old shoe but now that I have...I am HOOKED! This is my second pair of Cascadias and I will not wear anything else for trail running. I recently bought these shoes and have worn them for training runs and a very rugged and rocky trail race. They were put to the test as it was raining, muddy and very challenging! They stood up to the mud, drained well and definitely protected my feet from feeling the rocks. I will say, on very slippery rocks I found these shoes to not have the best traction BUT these were extreme conditions. Under normal circumstances, I find the traction just fine. These shoes provide the support I need as a runner who pronates, and I have no problems with blisters, anything rubbing or wearing funny, etc. These shows are the best!

Comments about Womens Brooks Cascadia 5 Trail Running Shoe: My first thought when I put these shoes on was, "Can I wear these on the road, too?!" They are so comfortable right out of the box. They're also very cushiony and light. Because of these characteristics, I wasn't sure how they would perform on the rocky terrain I planned to use them. I was not disappointed. They feel very stable and I do not feel the pointy stones through them. The traction also feels secure on uneven climbs and dissents.

Comments about Womens Brooks Cascadia 5 Trail Running Shoe: When I tie on my Cascadia 5's... I am in for fun times on the trails. The last thing you want to think about is your footing... how nice to run in a shoe that gives stability, both front to back and side to side for a great "ride". Feels like little four wheel drive shoes are working the terrain. Pros

Comments about Womens Brooks Cascadia 5 Trail Running Shoe: This is a great shoe for trails. It is pretty weather/terrain proof and has great stability and grip. It is a little heavy however if you are trying to combine roads and trails in one run. Great colors and matches well with my other Brooks gear. Pros

Comments about Womens Brooks Cascadia 5 Trail Running Shoe: I run with my dogs in the woods and these shoes make twists and turns no consequence. They look smart and feel great.

Comments about Womens Brooks Cascadia 5 Trail Running Shoe: Great trail running shoe! Very comfortable and sure grip through the sand, slick rock, and dirt of southern Utah. A little narrow in the toe box compared to my road shoes. Recommend to all my running friends.

Comments about Womens Brooks Cascadia 5 Trail Running Shoe: This is my 3rd pair of Brooks Cascadia. I used to wear the trail runners by Ascis, but the uppers didn't seem to hold up well. I get over 500 miles with the Brooks shoes, and then wear them for casual use for at least another 6 months. I think of these as value shoes, a lot of comfort and support for the money. I am a heavy striker with a light build. I recommend these shoes.

Comments about Womens Brooks Cascadia 5 Trail Running Shoe: I first tried the Brooks Cascadia 4's based on other reviews, and I absolutely loved them. I used them mostly for trail running and hiking, but I did use them for a half marathon once because my road runners were getting worn out! They held up beautifully. When I needed a new pair of trail runners, I bought the Cascadia 5's and love them just as much! Buy them at least 1/2 size larger (they fit me the same as Asics, which I buy a full size larger for running).

Comments about Womens Brooks Cascadia 5 Trail Running Shoe: Bought these in my first year as a trail runner. LOVED THEM right out of the box. Lots of control, felt sleek and maneuverable on the technical sections of trail including switchbacks and twists and turns. Very cushy but supportive. Grippy on gravelly, dirty and mulchy uphills, and very stable on downhills. Felt like I could stop on a dime. I don't run where there are ragged, pointy rocks underfoot, so I can't speak to that. My only, and unfortunately for me, and fatal complaint is that I developed blisters on my right foot from the base of the big toe down to the arch. Insoles, lace alterations, sock changes, and blister pads could not prevent the repeated vicious blistering. I'm reluctantly going to have to retire these after less than 100 miles, but I do love them so. I'm sure this is unique to me, but worth stating.

Comments about Womens Brooks Cascadia 5 Trail Running Shoe: I currently own four pairs of these shoes. I go through a pair every couple of months and I like them so much I stock up. I use these shoes for strenuous hikes including 14ers instead of the typical hiking boots with great results. I wear a 5 regular shoe and order a 6 in these.

Comments about Womens Brooks Cascadia 5 Trail Running Shoe: The only trail shoes I wear because they really grip rocks, roots, wet leaves, you name it. My feet don't blister because these dry wicked quick. I clean them in the washing machine with no poor effects, and even wear them on vacation when I know I'll do a lot of walking. I wish they still came in the bright bright green!

Comments about Womens Brooks Cascadia 5 Trail Running Shoe: I think these run a little smaller and narrower than your typical running shoe. I love to use these for off road runs as well as just wearing them around...they are a good looking shoe!

Comments about Womens Brooks Cascadia 5 Trail Running Shoe: This shoe felt great in the store and proved just as great on the trail. After wearing them straight out of the box on a 10 mile run, I am sold. It feels like there is extra cushioning in the mid and forefoot, which is really nice because most people don't heal strike a whole lot while trail running.
Pros
Cons Best Uses Comments about Womens Brooks Cascadia 5 Trail Running Shoe: I needed a shoe for the gym (boot camp - indoor and out). Running shoes weren't laterally stable enough, but I needed the support of a runner. This is the perfect fit with the right support / stability.

Comments about Womens Brooks Cascadia 5 Trail Running Shoe: I have two earlier versions of Cascadias and have found these to have a more cushiony ride than my other pairs. The only downside is that they tend to slip a lot on wet surfaces, which the previous versions did not do. As long as the terrain is dry, these are great.
