Comments about Womens Brooks Launch Running Shoe: I was reading through some of the previous comments and recognized myself in over half of them...I was wearing brooks adrenalines, but kept have ITband issues when I approached a run over 10 miles. Yes, i pronate, but i think the adrenalines were overcorrecting the problem. Launches have fit the bill and, knock on wood, I haven't been taken down by the IT since the switch. These feel a bit wide and and wish they came in a narrow size (i have a super feet insole to close the gap a bit) and the traction is pretty lousy, but other than that, i love these shoes

Comments about Womens Brooks Launch Running Shoe: I've been running in the Brooks Adrenalne for years and wanted to try something new and lighter. I have wide feet but found that the normal width was sufficient. The sizing seemed comparable with all Brooks -- I wear a women's 10 street shoe and find that the 11 fits perfectly. I only gave this four stars because if you have a weak high arch (like me), you may need a little more help in the form of a second-party insole.

Comments about Womens Brooks Launch Running Shoe: This is a followup to my previous post regarding this shoe (title is "Best Shoe Ever"). I just ran a marathon (my first one) yesterday, wearing these shoes. I have to say that I think it's designed more for shorter distances because towards the last 6 miles, I started having right IT band pain (first time I've had it on this side) and I was reduced to run/walking 1 minute intervals. My left IT band (my problem side) flared up only briefly so I was surprised that the other side was what slowed me down. I also said in my original post that maybe I need neutral shoes but now I'm thinking that stability shoes would be better for me. The cushioning was great still. I just felt also that my heel was moving around too much and I had to look down a few times to make sure that my shoelaces weren't untied. I've noticed this even on shorter runs. So I think I will downgrade my rating of the Brooks Launch to 4 stars mainly because I won't advise it for a marathon.

Comments about Womens Brooks Launch Running Shoe: I found this model after a lot of research on the internet, including [@]. This model came out with one of the best reviews. I had problems with IT band injury in my left leg 5 miles into a 20-mile run when I ran with a new pair of Asics Gel Nimbus 12 shoes about a month ago. I also have ongoing plantar fasciitis in my left foot. So I purchased the Brooks Launch and tried it first on a 2-mile run. It had very good cushioning for a lighter shoe. I had no problems, but then again it was just a 2-mile run. Yesterday, I wore it again for a 23-mile run and I was just in heaven! My IT band injury in my left knee did not flare up at all. My left foot plantar fasciitis did not act up at all. It often did with most of my runs. Also, I often get runner's knee discomfort in my right knee and that did not bother me one bit! This shoe is a miracle worker! Maybe I've just been running in the wrong shoes all along. I think the best way to determine if you need neutral or stability shoes is to look at the bottom of your old shoes and look at the wear pattern. I found out that I'm a neutral runner, as opposed to running stores telling me I need stability shoes after they've watched the way I run. Except for the aforementioned Asics Gel Nimbus, all my previous shoes were stability shoes, so maybe that's why I had all these aches and pain before. Nevertheless, I'm sticking with Brooks Launch and I'm purchasing another pair for my birthday today! Now I can run my first marathon knowing that I can go this far now. Thanks Brooks Launch!

Comments about Womens Brooks Launch Running Shoe: As an avid runner and triathlete, I originally received my first pair for free to test for a magazine review and have since purchased 4 more on my own. I am dreading the day they discontinue it or attempt to improve with a redesign (which in my opinion rarely improves the shoe). The shoe is light weight yet does not skimp on the cushioning, breathable and flexible, and the colors are fun! If you are a neutral shoe runner I would recommend this shoe again and again. I have run 3 marathons and completed my last Ironman training and race using these shoes. Best shoe out there for the price!
Pros Cons Best Uses Comments about Womens Brooks Launch Running Shoe: I overpronate badly and have always shopped with the sole intention of avoiding worse IT band problems. Then I ended up with bad tendinitis in my ankles, of all places, from stability shoes (Asics and Brooks). The forefoot strike of these got rid of that overnight. I don't seem to be having IT problems, either, although I did "cheat" and put my orthotics in these.

Comments about Womens Brooks Launch Running Shoe: As a runner with high arches who overpronates, I need a stability shoe. I love the Launch for racing longer distances of the half marathon and the marathon. I feel it gives plenty of stability but still is lighter than my trainers. I train with it for longer tempo runs and love the cushion it provies but it still feels fast.

Comments about Womens Brooks Launch Running Shoe: So this is my second pair of Launch's and I love them but when I ordered the new pink color in the exact same size, they were too big by at least a half a size. I'm not sure what's going on with this but I am going to try the size down and see what happens. Overall though they are some of the best running shoes I've ever had.
Pros Cons Best Uses Comments about Womens Brooks Launch Running Shoe: I am adding a second review as I felt my first was too negative. These shoes are good if you want cushion and comfort. I like to feel the ground-should be going with a more barefoot shoe. For those who want a cushioned trainer these are good-they feel well-made and durable.

Comments about Womens Brooks Launch Running Shoe: I used these shoes throughout my cross-country season training, and they definitely have been through some rough conditions. From speedwork to long runs, I've used these shoes for all of it. About to purchase my fourth pair!

Comments about Womens Brooks Launch Running Shoe: I usually don't review items I buy, but am hoping this will be helpful for someone looking to buy these shoes. After I finished my first half marathon with knee issues, I decided to change my form from heel striking to midfoot striking. I had my gait analysis done at a running store, and they told me I overpronate. They put my in the Brooks Adrenaline for support. This shoe was way too much for me and did not allow midfoot striking, but practically forced me to heel strike. I decided to order the Launch from this website, and am so happy I did. They are very lightweight, feel very springy in the midfoot portion, and have allowed me to work on my form and transition to a midfoot strike with practice and little difficulty. I did order the road runner sports pronation insole, and have tried running in them in the shoe a few times, but have found that they limit the depth of the shoe too much for me and my foot feels cramped. Overall though, I find that if I focus on form and a midfoot strike, I do not need the pronation control. I am about to run my second half marathon in 2 weeks and feel great! So thankful that I found these shoes.

Comments about Womens Brooks Launch Running Shoe: As a college athlete, I was looking into a lightweight, neutral shoe that didn't take away the luxuries of comfort and speed. I couldn't have asked for a better shoe than the Launch. It's such a versatile shoe. Although I am not much or a distance runner, I did enjoy a nice 2 mile jog in these shoes. I also loved doing my sprint workouts with them. By far the best shoe I have ever owned.

Comments about Womens Brooks Launch Running Shoe: I used to wear Nike shoes exclusively because they fit my narrow foot and high arch...but they kept changing the shoes I like and getting wider and flatter. I ran across the Launch at a running store in Eugene, OR and fell in love. They fit like a glove, they are fast and they look great. I love these shoes. They do wear out fast but it is what it is. As a marathoner I buy these 2 at a time and rotate them to make them last longer. Awesome shoes!

Comments about Womens Brooks Launch Running Shoe: This shoe has been great out of the box. I've been having all sorts of issues with a few different Nikes, but they seem to be resolved in the Launch. Running is a pleasure again in these fast, light and responsive shoes.

Comments about Womens Brooks Launch Running Shoe: I have been using this shoe for over a year now. It is my favorite shoe for all types of workouts. I have used it for my tempo runs and my long run. I recently ran my first 100K wearing these shoes and did not experience a single knee problem. Any other shoe cause a runner's knee flare up.

Comments about Womens Brooks Launch Running Shoe: I run 10-12k four times a week on gravel. I am not very knowledgeable about shoes, but I like shoes that I can wear straight from the box. This pair was like that. They also look very good!
