6'1", 165, 30 - 40 mpw, high arches, training for marathon. I have been on the Brooks line for over a year now (Ghost and Launch line) and wanted to try something with more cushion for my increased mileage. WOW. For me, these were tailor made. You feel the sole length DNA difference when you put them on. I just took them out for a jog this morning and they molded to my feet. Great arch support, good toe room, and cushion for both the forefoot and heel. I am a believer.

I run and train for marathons and made the change from the Glycerin 8 to the 9 and am disappointed. This shoe had too many changes and does not fit or feel as good as the 8's to me. On long runs my toes get bunched together too tight and cause problems. I have 2 pair I use for short Runs, but switched to Asics Nimbus 13, for Marathons and long runs.

Desperatly looking for Nimbus 12 replacement - (the 13's were too narrow). I'm 6' 180 40mpw. I've read all the reviews and bought these with high expectations. They look great, but compared to the Nimbus 12 they're very stiff and the cushioning is extra, extra firm, not soft, that DNA isn't all that it's cracked up to be - my feet are killing me. Sizing and fit also were a little off - for me, normally wear an 11 running shoe but these were too short and tight.

Big guy- 6'2 245 pounds. Ordered this shoe while deployed overseas as it was rated well for heavy people with neutral or unknown requirements as far as foot strike. I've been doing 15-20 miles a week on the treadmill for two months now and they've held up well. I have large, wide feet and my normal size 13 fits well.
Couldn't be much happier with these but they may have a bit too much cushion for lighter runners.

Im 6'2", 180 pounds/ Love everything about this shoe except durability. Im only getting about 250 miles on these shoes. Starting on my 3rd pair in the next few days. I guess we have to sacrafice durability for 250 miles of heaven.../ I will keep buying for now!

Should have won best update of year. The 8's are good, the 9's are exceptional. The cushioning isn't overwhelming, the upper hugs perfectly, and the weight is not as heavy as my Wave Prophesy's (love those too) and my favorite light weight show the Brooks Ghost 4 which I do alternate all 3. The Glycerin 9's are my shoe of choice for long hauls over 10 miles as well as shorter training runs. Continue as always to purchase 1/2 size up but realize these have a pretty wide toe box. Excellent shoe...best update in 2011 in my opinion. Well done, Brooks!

I am 5' 9", 165lbs and ran in Vomeros until I put these on. I am pretty neutral and was married to Nike for a long time. These are by far the best shoe I have ever ran in. The run 1/2 size small, I wear a 9.5 in Nike, 10 in Brooks. I have the Ghost 4 also, but these are much more cushioned and bouncy.

I loved the 8's, but being a heel striker, for this kind of money, was unhappy with how fast the out sole wore down...real wear in less than 50 total miles. I'm happy to say that without effecting the excellent ride, Brooks improved the durability in the 9...I'm at around 100 miles now, with no real signs of wear. Well done!

I recently retired my Glycerine 8 shoes. While I liked them, I felt that they were a little flat and slowed my foot transition down. All around they were comfortable, but the tongue was too short and it always seemed the laces would cut into the top of my foot because of that.
Brooks did a great job in this update. The tongue is longer and thicker removing that specific compliant I had with my 8's. The full length DNA is phenomenal. More cushioning without slowing me down. The slow is more flexible and feels like the traction the soles provide has been improved as well. Only four stars though; I feel like Brooks has a little more they could to perfect the shoe. Maybe making it more breathable and by adding the tongue tied system that is now found on the Ghost 4 and Trance 10.
