Comments about Mens Brooks PureFlow Running Shoe: I'm over 100 miles in these puppies so I think it's time for a review. First, I wear orthodics in everything but racers so take it with a grain of salt that I do find these very comfortable and cushiony. I've worn these anywhere from 5 to 15 miles. Regular runs, up-tempos, track workouts and intervals. I have been working on transitioning more to a mid-foot strike which these shoes are made for. Unfortunately this means the heels on these are prone to wear quickly since the treads do not extend fully under the heel. Not a bad thing because of the type of strike these shoes are made for but I've definitely chewed them up with some downhill running. You can see where the blue is gone in the pictures. However, I'm also seeing some wear in the middle of the shoe at the forefoot. Not the tread but the substance underneath. I think the durometer of the tread is too soft and it compresses too much allowing for this wear. And I am not a heavy runner, 6' and all of 150 lbs with a rather light step if I do say so myself. I like the weight and heel to toe drop. One thing I have had to get used to is how huge the toe box is, but from what another reviewer said this is most likely to mimic closer the feel of barefoot running by spreading the toes. I don't think my socks let my toes go that far! Uppers are super comfortable, love the support from the arch up around the top of the foot. Laces are too short. I use a lacing technique that locks my heel in and even with very narrow feet the laces are extremely short. Overall I like these shoes but I think durability is going to be an issue. From the wear I'm seeing I think they will be lucky to see over 200 miles from me.

Comments about Mens Brooks PureFlow Running Shoe: I Run 50-60 + miles per week. Training to hopefully qualify for Boston Marathon. I use these shoes for every run: daily runs, rain or shine, speed work, tempo runs, even long runs (20 milers). These shoes have allowed for injury-free training and they felt great from the very first run. I just replaced my first pair after only 420 miles, the only weakness I can report. I replaced them with an identical pair because these are easily the best shoes I have ever run in. I am a mild overpronator and the Pure Flows provide adequate support. These shoes are light, virtually no break in time. Brooks answer to the minimal sole craze is definitely designed with the runner in mind. I enthusiastically recommend these shoes. Previous shoes were ASICS 2100 series, ASICS Kayanos, and Brooks Ravenna 2's.

Comments about Mens Brooks PureFlow Running Shoe: I was skeptical at first. I had never run in Brooks before. Generally, I run in Asics Gel Nimbus, and Mizuno Wave Rider. The transition to this shoe was very easy. I am 6'5 / 240 lbs., with a neutral gait, and wear a size 14EE in these other shoes. The 14D fits great in the Flow. It amazes me how much difference a couple of ounces can make in a shoe's feel. They are incredibly comfortable, light, and responsive. I have run around 400 miles in this first pair, and they have held up. My long runs in them are 10-milers. These are my favorite shoes. Brooks got this one right. I just ordered the second pair. If you are a big guy with wide feet, don't be afraid to give them a try.
Pros
Cons Best Uses Comments about Mens Brooks PureFlow Running Shoe: I'm 6'2" 195 lb., so I had run in Asics Gel Kayanos for a long time. I averaged 25-40 miles per week, depending on training. About a year ago, I tore the peroneal tendon in my ankle and the doctor suggested that part of the cause is under pronation and heel striking.

Comments about Mens Brooks PureFlow Running Shoe: I run around 50 miles a week. The Pure Flow helped me complete the transition to forefoot running. The key is the wide toe box and straight last. That makes them a true training shoe. This shoe has the low heel drop and light weight I wanted, but the straight last, the slight bit of support from the guidance band and the wide toe box made them feel less like racing-shoe-like "trainers I first used as I tried to change my stride. Highly, highly recommended.

Comments about Mens Brooks PureFlow Running Shoe: I picked up these shoes because my Merrill barefoot shoes just didn't have enough cushion. with a 4mm drop, These shoes feel great, and the faster you run the better they feel. I run anywhere from a 5k to 20 miles in them and they are awesome! I am 6ft 175, have a high arch and strike mid foot. I have been running 20-30 miles a week.

Comments about Mens Brooks PureFlow Running Shoe: I have plantar fasciitis in both feet and capsulitis in my left foot. "Custom" orthotics were garbage so I purchased these. Out of the box on my feet and 5 miles @ 7:02 pace and miraculously no pain!! These are by far the best shoes ever. They corrected my gate taking me from a heel striker back up on the balls of my feet. I went from struggling to complete 4 miles from pain to 8 milers at a 6:43 pace pain free! I keep getting faster and hopefully will be back in the low 5min pace. Thank you Brooks!!!

Comments about Mens Brooks PureFlow Running Shoe: I'm 44 years old and 195 lbs. I have run in Nike, Asics, Mizuno etc. These shoes are the best I have ever run in! As I moved from neutral + type shoes to performance neutral, I was worried about cushioning. The pure flows are light, fast and comfortable. My feet and legs feel great after a fast tempo 5k or a long run. I would recommend these to anyone with high arches looking for a light minimal shoe. Brooks did these right.. I love em!

Comments about Mens Brooks PureFlow Running Shoe: I have been training and running on Newton Sir Isaac and Gravity. I took a chance on Brooks PureFlow and absolutely love them. I took it out for a test run for 6 miles the first day and it felt great. It's amazing for a minimal shoes with great cushion and support. Will have to see how these shoes hold up.

Comments about Mens Brooks PureFlow Running Shoe: These are great shoes. I've been running since...1994. By far, these are my favorite shoes. I've put over 400 miles on them, mostly on track and trails, all four seasons, temperatures from 90+ to sub-zero, icy, snowy, rainy...they gripped, they supported, they cooled. I loved the big wide fore-foot area. I'm just about to buy 2 pairs now.

Comments about Mens Brooks PureFlow Running Shoe: My first impression was that these were AMAZING! They are soft, have the best upper I have ever worn, then the long runs started. After the second 15 mile run, my achilles flared up (never happened before). Pretty sure the low heel drop caused it because it is different than all my other shoes. So I waited it out, used them on short runs, then my arch started having pains after using them. Believe me I want to love these shoes because they are so comfortable, but they keep causing injury. Also the traction off road leaves a little to be desired.

Comments about Mens Brooks PureFlow Running Shoe: I am 68 inches 215 pounds. Started out in heavy motion control shoes (at 315 pounds) and transitioned into these shoes around September of this year. I run on the roads about 20 miles per week increasing gradually. At first I was a little hesitant about going from a 12mm drop to a 4mm drop, but my fears were unfounded. No problems or injuries at all with the Flows, and I have low arches. Eventually I will move to more minimal ones with a zero drop. I might mention that I have to wear very thin running socks or the shoes would be too narrow. Wish the industry would offer wide widths in minimal shoes.

Comments about Mens Brooks PureFlow Running Shoe: 6 ft., 185 pounds, high arches. I use this shoe in the gym and occasional running. It's very comfortable and light weight. I'd consider this shoe to be transitional to a more minimal shoe, I would not consider it true minimal. It has just the right amount of cushioning. I have high arches and it seems to fit the shape of my foot very well. Lots of room in the toe area. I am rough on shoes and tend to wear them for weekend wear, to the store, kids soccer practice, etc. However, these shoes do not seem all that durable which is the tradeoff on a more minimal shoe. So I will only be wearing these to the gym or running or I will probably be purchasing new ones way more oftern than budget permits. A word on sizing - I tried on the PureConnects in a local retail store. My measured foot size is 10.5. For the PureConnect, I had to go up a whole size to 11.5, and they were a perfect fit. Howerver - when I went to purchase from Roadrunner I did not like the PureConnect colors so I went with the PureFlow. Unfortunately I ordered the 11.5 which is way too big, should have ordered the 11. Oh well, they'll wear out soon so I will get the right size next time.

Comments about Mens Brooks PureFlow Running Shoe: Been transitioning to less shoe and more midooft strike. These shoes felt great at first. Very soft and light. After only about 100 miles I noticed my foot rubbing the sides of the shoes. The sole has become very compressed causing the rubbing. I'm a bigger runner at 200 lbs so your results may be different. Don't think I'll buy again unless I can find them cheap.

Comments about Mens Brooks PureFlow Running Shoe: I have been a runner for 33+ years and presently run 50-60 miles per week. I had been having a hard time lately finding a shoe I really like until I tried the Pureflow. Lightweight, cushioned, and plenty of support. For me, these are the best shoes I've ever run in.

Comments about Mens Brooks PureFlow Running Shoe: They look bulky, but they're actually light and very breathable. The little strap that goes over the top isn't stylish at all and serves no purpose. Aside from the strap, I'd say these shoes could be worn with jeans, but that strap just makes them look . . . well . . . I can't think of anything nice to say about the strap. I have been wearing the original Nike Free Plus for over 2 years and over 2,000 miles and have been looking for a good replacement for a while. I read on another website that the PureFlows have the same exact heel-to-toe drop (4mm) as the old Frees and weigh about the same so I decided to give the PureFlow a try and these shoes have worked wonderfully. I hope to put 2,000 miles on the PureFlows now - I may buy another pair since it's so hard to find good shoes these days.

Comments about Mens Brooks PureFlow Running Shoe: Love these shoes, despite them being too narrow. My left foot is a bit wide, so these shoes make my foot ache when I'm wearing thick socks. If I wear super thin socks, they're OK, but I lose my blister protection.

Comments about Mens Brooks PureFlow Running Shoe: I am a high school cross country runner. I have worn Asics, Nikes, the Brooks GTS Adrenaline 11, Saucony Kinvara 2, etc. I have never been as impressed with a shoe as i am with these. Right out of the box i ran 10 miles in these and it felt amazing! After being a mid foot runner, the 4mm drop is very helpful to make sure i keep my form. I have gotten some of my teammates hooked on these shoes now. I am running around 40-50 miles a week and getting higher. They are holding up great. They are wearing down after around 280 miles, but since they are relatively cheap there is no sweat. I would recommend this shoe to ANYONE

Comments about Mens Brooks PureFlow Running Shoe: this is a great shoe i do road running any where from 14 to 30 miles a day and it is the best shoe i have had yet i love brooks shoes and this are the best so far they are very comfortable and light i would recommend this shoe to anyone....
Pros Cons
Best Uses Comments about Mens Brooks PureFlow Running Shoe: Uncertain about how to rate the shoe, since I wasn't able to run in it; so, I can't attest to it's value in that regard. That elastic strap across the arch area and the narrow forefoot make it totally unwearable if your foot is moderately wide and/or you have a high arch/instep.

Comments about Mens Brooks PureFlow Running Shoe: My shoes over past 10 years have been Brooks Axiom, Nike Elite Triax, Brooks Adrenaline GTS, Nike Structure Triax, and then back to Brooks Adrenaline GTS. Normally I've had/needed some pronation control. I decided to try out no support in a lower offset (this one is 4 mm) shoe. So far (80 miles), it has worked out just fine. I am an overpronator to be sure, but the way they flattened out this shoe, it's just not a factor anymore. You are landing on your midfoot more of the time so ther is less inward role. I use this shoe for long runs (15+) and it works fine. But it's also great for tempo work, speed work. You can't help but feel fast in these. So lightweight. Cushioning is not mushy; it is just the right amount of cushioning and springiness. I found my new favorite shoe and will be sticking with it for some time.

Comments about Mens Brooks PureFlow Running Shoe: I love these shoes. Very lightweight and comfortable. I bought the blue and black pair and they are very sharp. The most important things I look for in a shoe is how much it weighs, and the overall look of the shoe. This shoe has both. I might just end up buying the green and black pair as well. I bought them to run in, but I also do crossfit workouts in them. Just a great pair of shoes.

Comments about Mens Brooks PureFlow Running Shoe: I am a die hard Glycerin 9 fan and decided to try something lighter and lower to the ground. I was also suffering from runners knee. Once I put these on, I was amazed. They feel great much like my 9's, but with much less shoe. I ran 5 in them and they felt great and after a few runs, my knee felt better. They run long and i have heard you should go a half size down, but I tried that and stuck with the same size as my 9's. I like a lot of room in the toe box. Great shoe for the price. I plan on running a 1/2 marathon in these this spring.

Comments about Mens Brooks PureFlow Running Shoe: Avid runner, 20-25 miles per week, 5'11", 180 lbs. I've tried every neutral shoe you can think of in the past year, including most of the performance series. Always had a soft spot for Brooks, but had been running in Free Run 2+ for the past 4+ months. THESE ARE THE BEST SHOES I'VE EVERY RUN IN...PERIOD. Low drop, super light, not quite minimal, but as close to minimal as I want. Brooks hit the nail on the head with this one. I tried the PureConnect, it was too narrow for me, but the Flow is spot-on.
