Ran with shoe for about six 4 - 6 mile training runs. Ran into issue with shoe brusing the outside 5th metatarsal bone. I've ran in Asics 2100 series for years and never experienced issue. After 8 weeks in the Brooks running 4x / week I don't know if I will be able to keep using them. Anyone have similar issues?
Adrenaline quality continues to decline
I've been running in the Brooks GTS adrenaline since at least the adrenaline 7. I've tried many other shoes and always return to the GTS adrenaline but sadly feel with each "upgrade" in number, quality is inversely affected. I've been wearing 8.5's in these for the last 10 years and the 12 is the first version where I feel it's clunkier and more bulky. Goint to return for at least 1/2 size smaller. C'mon Brooks. If the 13 ends up worse than the 12, I'm switching brands for good.
Miss the 11s
I purchased these to rotate them into my regular runs in the 11s. Rotation didn't work out as planned and as I was preparing for a half marathon I just continued wearing the 11s. After a layoff from running I jumped into the 12s and all I can say is "ouch". I've never had an issue with the soles of my feet hurting or feeling discomfort in the tendon(s) in my feet but even during very short runs my feet would kill me. Though not quite as great as my 11s, I am now wearing 2170s which work but I don't love them as I did my 11s. I still try to wear the 11s though they are quite worn out. My best guess is that the wider toe box could be an issue for me, but mainly I notice that the arch support area in the shoe hits me in a different spot than that same area in the 11s. I can't wear shoes with too much room as my foot tends to move around too much and this could also be an issue - I did notice some weird rubbing in them as well. I've tried a few different inserts but still wind up with the foot pain and if I force it I wind up with some Achilles discomfort as well. The 11s and 12s feel different to me, even the drop feels different although I have been told there is actually very little difference in the shoes. Will keep trying to work out the kinks in my 12s (they even hurt if I wear them to walk the dog) and wait to see how the 13s turn out. Hopefully the 2170s will work for me for the time being. Thinking of trying the Ravennas as a last resort.
I have been a Brooks Believer since 1995. I have worn the Adrenaline line since their inception and have had no issues, no major injuries and nothing but love for my favorite shoe. I run a lot, so go through a pair every other month, so this is quite an investment. Something changed in this line about March 2011. Since then, I have had major issues; the plastic rubbing through the heel of the shoe, the tongue of the shoe moving around so much I am sore on the top of my foot, planter facititus, knee problems, hamstring problems....the list goes on and on! I am looking at getting fitted for another shoe and this breaks my heart. I spoke with a Brooks rep who mentioned their change to a 'DNA gel' that was supposed to 'conform to the runner's gait, step and strike. I see many comments here with people mentioning their sore feet, so I know I'm not alone...Brooks...please, ditch this 'DNA gel' and go back to the stability shoe of old!!!
Not as good as Series 11
I purchased the Series 11 Brooks Adrenaline and was surprised at how good the shoe felt and supported my feet. I am an underpronator with flat feet (an unusual combination). The Series 11 shoes suited me perfectly and were lightweight. When it was time to purchase new sneakers, I of course selected the Brooks Adrenaline shoe. There were no Series 11 available in my size, so I chose the Series 12. This turned out to be not so great an alternative. The sneaker appears to increase my underpronation, instead of decreasing it. The arch appears to be much higher than in the Series 11. Also the shoe sole is heavy and hard. The suggestion to choose a size 1/2 size larger is a smart one, because that gave me the perfect fit. I am not particularly happy with this Brooks Adrenaline shoe, but I guess it could be worse.

Love this version
I really liked version 10...bought 4 pairs. Tried 11 but they were not stable enough for me. Glad I tried 12, the stability I need is there. I have ankle problems if I don't have enough mid-foot stability. Very happy! :)
After reading other reviews I was a bit nervous about moving on from the 11th edition to the 12th. I wear a 10 wide in the 11's and did not find that in the 12's. I got a 10.5 B instead. I am 5'9 and a bigger build. I run about 25 miles a week. I found that my other brand often gives me hot spots around the 5 mile mark. My 11's never did...my feet fell in love with them. I took my 12's out of the mailbox this morning I did six miles....wow! I was expecting to have horrible results from reading reviews. My feet again felt great and perfectly in place....roomy yet not too roomy. Good support...cusiony...and over all as great as my now retired 11's. Thanks Brooks for making my shoe!
I miss the GTS 11.
I loved the GTS11 and was disappointed it was no longer available when I had to buy a replacement pair. I was sure the 12's would be as good as, or better, than the 11's. Wrong! I have worn them for four or five runs now, and each time it feels as though I have run barefoot -- the bottoms of my feet are very sore. The shoes are stiff up front and feel like they have zero cushioning. I do not like them at all and wish Brooks would have left a great product alone. I ran 12 miles in them yesterday; even though the shoe part felt broken in, my feet were killing me the rest of the day. I never, ever had this problem with the 11s. I have been switching back and forth and even though my 11's have a lot of miles, my feet don't hurt a bit after my runs. I think my 12s are headed to the trash can.
Didn't follow in the 11's footsteps
The GTS 11 was a great shoe that had good mid foot support, a snug fit yet comfortable toe box, and was good for long runs. With limited choices in the narrow running shoe category, it was a great find. I made the mistake of assuming the new 12 version would be similar. It is not. The shoe is wider through the mid foot section and the upper contains more material which creates a loose, sloppy feel, and adds to over pronation. And the shoe feels bulkier and heavier than the 11 making it tiresome on the longer distance runs. The material is of good quality however, and has held up to wear and elements better than other brands.

I switched to the Brooks Adreline several years ago after being a fan of the Asics 2000 series. Originally a great fit and feel right out of the box, but I"ve had my Adreline 12's less than 3 months and it feels like I've run in them for 6 months! The outsole of the forefoot is wearing and they feel like my worn out pair. The cushioning in the forefoot isn't as good as in previous models. Maybe I got a "dud" pair. Considering sending them back (VIP member) and getting Asics 2170 instead.
I usually run at least 20 miles a week and power walk a few times a week in my shoes and get a new pair every 6 months.
My toes thanks me after these shoes!!
I bought these after wearing the Asics 2000 line for a year. The Asic's Toe Box was actually too narrow for my feet and even after trying on bigger sizes, they just squeezed/rubbed my feet in the wrong places. So, I began looking for a shoe with similar cushioning/stability to the 2000s but offered a better fit for my foot, and these shoes definitely were it! I could see why these shoes may not be a great fit for everyone's feet, but I love them! I think I've logged about 200 miles on them so far (I run about 30 miles a week)and they seem to be holding up great so far.
Not too good.
I have run in Brooks for years, particularly the Adrenaline. I have always been generally pleased with this shoe until I got the Adrenaline 12. I have run in these shoes for a couple of months now, and I can honestly say I hate them. The "support" section of the midsole has been expanded, and it is very hard. I wore them for a half marathon, and my knees ached for days afterward. This has never happened in any other shoe. They have almost turned this shoe into a motion control model. I switched to the Ravenna. It is has a slightly less aggressive, but still quite supportive "support" midsole.
Miss my GTS 11s
I purchased these to add to the rotation with my GTS 11s. I have noticed during several short runs (running in the 12s only) that my little toe will rub on the side although the toe box feels so big to me. I actually feel as if the front of my foot slides around a bit in it. Worse yet, a tendon in my foot screams when I run in them, especially after the 1st mile and I don't have a history of any foot issues. I have no idea - this has consistently been a pretty good shoe for me and I don't know what change in the 12s have made them so run-unfriendly for me. Now looking to replace my 11s or find an equivalent shoe altogether.
Worst shoe I have run in for awhile
I am on RoadRunner tonight looking for a new pair of shoes because my feet hurt so much! I have been an avid runner for 25 years and found Brooks GTS years ago. I got my new pair in the fall, the 12, and my feet have hurt ever since. I developed planter facititus and my feet ache. The foot beds have no cushioning and my feet just plain ole' hurt after short or long runs. They are terrible and I am so glad that I am not alone in my assessment because that would just make me feel OLD and creaky. I hope that this helps anyone buying these shoes. I depend on the reviews when I am choosing my next shoe.
Can we dial it back to 10?
These fit my orthotics and do okay when I'm on my treadmill, and they're sturdy, but they feel big and clunky even though they're my size. I loved the Adrenaline 10s and miss the good fit, the cushioning especially with running on harder surfaces that are so rough on my feet and legs, and the strong feeling of support I got with those. In retrospect, I wish I'd gone with a different shoe instead of trying to stay loyal.
Felt softer and bigger than the GTS11
I had 2 GTS-11s and I loved them. I bought these and didn't try them on until it was time for a run. They felt a little bigger than the 11s, mainly because they give more room in the toe box. I have a thin foot I think that's why I noticed. Also, the insoles felt really soft. They were comfortable enough, but I will add some Sole insoles to make them a bit more firm. Overall, I liked the 11s better but I have hopes these will grow on me.
Not happy with updates from the GTS 11
I was looking forward to the updates from the GTS11. The tongue securement is the best update (all the Brooks have a tendency towards slippage). The sizing is way off. The shoe feels super clunky, and the uppers don't wrap securely around around my foot. Even with swelling at the end of long runs, the uppers still feel tented at the sides. Wish I could have the 11s back
I switched to Brooks from New Balance with the Adrenaline 11 and fell head over heals with the shoe. I was saddened that I could not order the 11 again, but figured the 12 would be great. UM, not so much. The fit is completely different and there is WAY too much room in the toe box. I can't tighten them adequately, and I usually like a little more room up there. SO disappointed, is all I can say.

its all I wear
I've been wearing Brooks for several years now. I have a very narrow foot and can only fit into select brands. I like Nike but Brooks has become my new favorite. I wore the Adrenaline 11 before I got the 12's. I tried on the 13's and they feel consistent with the 11 and 12's, I just wanted to stick with what I already knew worked for me.
My favorite Adrenalines
The newer Adrenalines are more narrow. I don't think they support quite as well as the older 12s or 13s- but they are still good -it's just that the older ones are great! I have arthritis and run long distances. These shoes never hurt and I run pain free. I've tried other brands, they got nothin' on Adrenalines!

Brooks Adrenaline GTS 12
Bought these for my 14 year old daughter who is running high school cross country. These are one of three pairs she uses for training, and loves them. From the first run, they were comfortable, provided good support, and stood up to the mud puddles! She has had no complaints after running in this shoe.
Great running shoes!
I've been wearing Brooks Adrenalines for 8 years - ever since I sprained an ankle and my sports physician recommended them for stability. They have been great thru marathons and every day jogs. I also order a size up from regular sizing in all running shoes, and doing so with the Adrenaline has always given me a great fit.

Same issue - miss the GTS 11
I have the same issues as many of the others. I am experiencing pain on the top of my foot. I have the laces as loose as I dare, and it still feels uncomfortable along the top of my foot. I really liked the GTS 11, and was very disappointed in this shoe. I'll wear for my shorter runs, but not for long distances.
Best shoe for Xtra wide size
I Love the shoe. It's rare to find an extra wide shoe that's comfortable. The only negative for me is the insole is too rounded up on the edges. I just replace them with another work-out insole and am good. Great shoe. I do wish you had these in 7-2E in more than 1 color. It does get a bit boring.........
I loved the Adrenaline 10 so much that I stocked up but when they ran out I ordered the 11 which was not stable enough for me so sent them back. I tried the 12 and I am so happy I did...the stability I need is back!! I have ankle issues if I don't have enough control and these are perfect again! I will be stocking up on these!
Inner toe box is cut at sharp angles; A local running shop 'fit' me as as 11B, orded the 12 from RRS. After 6 weeks of running 20 - 26 miles / week my big toe is jammed into the toe box. I don't think I can increase my weekly mileage w/ this shoe. very disappointed.
Love this shoe
Love this shoe. Never have to try it on. Each year they are the same. Except one year they got bigger. I really enjoy buying last years at half price. This shoe sells a good price but I feel they break down a little quicker then my Nike Zoom.
Perth On. Can.
Had to return
Bought these as my first pair of stability running shoes (had been in neutral). Wore then for 2 hours just walking around to get used to them. Ended up with pain and red marks on the top of my feet. The tongue rubbed weird. Tried several times to loosen/tighten laces differently but then my heel slipped. Had to return them.
I have been a Brooks Adrenaline fan for years as the shoe has been one of the few to comfortably fit a wide foot. Version 12 does not measure up to previous editions. Average 60 plus miles weekly and am experiencing callous and blisters for the first time.
Disappointed - prefer the 11
I loved the GTS 11. The 12 has a less cushioned tongue and the top of my foot was sore within two runs. Had to order the expiring 11 model so I could get back to running! Why take a great shoe and screw it up for the sake of an "update"?
