Comfortable right out of the box! No breaking in period. Went trail running today. Started out on frozen ground and by the time I was done the ground was soft mud. Great traction even on frozen rocks. Great traction on steep uphill and steep downhill terrain. I will be buying more of these.

Comments about Womens Brooks Cascadia 7 Trail Running Shoe:

I usually run in Mizuno Wave Nirvanas, but the sole has a heel pocket into which snow and large rocks can get stuck. (When snow-running in my Nirvanas, I have to stop at every fire hydrant to whack out the collected ball of snow!)

My Cascadias are GREAT on gravel, rock, and snow. Maybe not so well-suited to longer runs, but they got me through the recent Monument Marathon, much of which was off-road on packed dirt, gravel, and crushed rock. Even in wet rocky conditions, my footing was sure. I heard other runners complain about slippage and mud build-up, but I did not experience this in my Cascadias.

I do have some plantar fasciitis issues when I run longer distances in these shoes (a problem I don't have in my Mizunos), I think this is related to the Cascadia being a neutral shoe, when I should be running in a stability due to overpronation and low heel height.

        Didn't Work for Me :(

Comments about Womens Brooks Cascadia 7 Trail Running Shoe:

I currently wear Brooks Glycerin 10 which I love and I hoped the Cascadia 7 would be a great shoe for me as I'm looking for something with better traction and support for trail running than my road shoes.

I have high arches and always wear some type of orthodic. I don't know how the Cascadia is different than my Glycerins but the problems I've had are enough for me to return these. First time using them (4 mile run) I got blisters on my little toes (outside and top). I tried again not lacing the first lace loops to see if that would reduce the tension on the little toes. While this helped a little it was not good enough to keep running in them due to blisters and numbness in ball of foot/toes.

The tingling/numbness is a concern to me as I've never had this problem before. No part of the shoe was too tight so the only thing I could figure is that it must have something to do with how the shoe flexes through each step. I've read a lot of reviews after trying these and it seems other people have had the same issues, that there is just something off in how the toe box is designed.

These shoes run a little small so Cascadia in 1/2 size bigger than my Glycerins worked for me size wise. I wish the design had worked with my foot as I love the traction these shoes offer.

My husband got a pair as well and hasn't had any problems. Just test them out carefully and don't be afraid to return them if they don't work for you.

Guess I'm going to keep looking for the shoe that works for me...

Comments about Womens Brooks Cascadia 7 Trail Running Shoe:

This is a great shoe, yet they kill my shins. I have had the same pair of sneakers for several years and never had this problem. I tried to brake this shoe in for about a month and honestly I think I would be better off donating them. The pros are that they have great traction and they are fairly light for a trail shoe. ( activities I have done most frequently with this shoe: off trail hikes and dirt path walks) not recommended for everyday walks on concrete walkways.
