Comments about Mens Brooks Ghost 5 Running Shoe: I tried the Mizuno Wave Rider (very painful and could not get the fit right) and the Saucony Progrid Ride 5 (very cushy, but no support in the mid section) on the road and could get the right fit. The VIP deal is unbelievable and I am very happy to have found the perfect shoe for me. I am very critical of shoes and can't believe the great fit of these.

Comments about Mens Brooks Ghost 5 Running Shoe: I am a diabetic who is always looking for shoes that fit really well! The Brooks Ghost 5 is the latest shoe that I love! Comfortable from the get-go, my diabetic orthotics fit very well into them. I am happy to wear them both for working out (running, walking, weight-lifting) and for day-to-day use for job/after job errands.

Best Uses Comments about Mens Brooks Ghost 5 Running Shoe: Count me as another one of those runners who doesn't write many reviews. That said, this shoe is pretty, but I was not a real fan of the lack of midsole cushioning. It feels non-existent. The heel feels pretty good, but the transition from the heel to forefront when the shoes strikes left me feeling a lot of impact because of the lack of cushio up front. I don't get it because the shoe looks like it has adequate cushioning. I also added a size up like the sizing guide advised to do, but the shoe felt a tad big, meaning it is probably close to true sizing. Thanks to Roadrunner Sports for the VIP treatment as I have to sent these back. This make/model has too many good reviews for me to call it a bad shoe though. Just a bad shoe for me.

Comments about Mens Brooks Ghost 5 Running Shoe: At first I really liked these shoes, but that changed after a few runs. They didn't seem deep enough, so when you put in a decent set of inserts the tongue isn't wide enough and you get some lace digging in the foot. The padding in the midsole wasn't up to my expectations. They look great and were comfortable around the house, but I needed something for 15 miles a week of running. Thanks to the awesome VIP perks I returned them for the more padded Glycerines - so far so good.

Best Uses Comments about Mens Brooks Ghost 5 Running Shoe: Decided to try the ghost as an alternate to the Brooks Glycerin which I have been using the last three years. Shoe was ok, not bad, but ran in them twice and had sore knees and legs each time so returned them and went back to the Glycerins. Seemed to be a good shoe but just didn't work well for me. 5'5", 160 poounds, 25-30 miles per week runner.

Comments about Mens Brooks Ghost 5 Running Shoe: After testing out and returning a variety of neutral shoes, I chose the Ghost 5. A bit about me, I'm 5'10'', just under 180 and run 3 to 7 miles a pop. I prefer to run on moderate trails but I'll run on pavement if the weather forces me to do so. The Ghost provides me with just the right amount of firm/responsive cushioning, a bit of stability as well as solid arch support. Despite running hotter than average, I find the shoes very breathable. Traction is just fine. The only con I have it that the shoes, for me, tend to wear out between 150 and 200 miles. I am currently on my third pair and I'm stocking up.

Comments about Mens Brooks Ghost 5 Running Shoe: Really liked Ghost 4 & wore through a pair of Ghost 5. Designers have added a heel cup that has two nasty seams on the inside. The first shoes the seam was noticeable but tolerable. Not so the second I tried. Check out the inside heel before taking these home.

Comments about Mens Brooks Ghost 5 Running Shoe: I ran with Asics Nimbus and loved them. They did not have my size and I took recommendation to try the Brooks Cloud. It may be good for heavier runners, but I've never had a pair of shoes this uncomfortable and stiff. I have high arches and the arch support isn't there without orthotics.

Comments about Mens Brooks Ghost 5 Running Shoe: I had been an adidas fan, loved the ride3 and supernova glide. but they changed those and the new versions were no good for me. So I went on the high reviews of the ghost. No problems at all, which probably means its a great shoe for me. I have done 20+ mile runs in them and put over 200 miles on this pair, never the slightest issue or complaint. Running shoes are personal, but for my extremely high arched feet, these work great. I should probably get a few extra pair before they go and change them...

Comments about Mens Brooks Ghost 5 Running Shoe: I use the shoe as my primary training shoe. I'm 5'6 - 133 lbs. This shoe has created issues from the get go with blisters (I rarely, if ever get - 39 yrs of running), followed by my current foot injury where I have intense pain on the top of the foot. I have never run in a shoe that has created such issues in such a short span of time. This shoe is not for the light, competitive runner.

Comments about Mens Brooks Ghost 5 Running Shoe: I'm 6'3" 230, mid-foot lander, "regular" shoe size 13D. For 25 years I ran in Motion Control shoes. The word back then was that MC was correct for heavy runners. The Beast in size 14-2E has served me well, with an occasional Asics Gel Evolution mixed in. Now MC shoes are properly described for flat feet, which I do not have. I noticed in a recent triathlon photo that my foot was turned under. I was running on the outer edges of my shoes, which is the way a MC shoe will push you. A few weeks ago I was fitted for orthotics, and the Pedorthist, also a Brooks enthusiast, recommended the Dyad. The Dyad doesn't come in 2E width, so the good folks at RRS suggested the Ghost. I walked in them for a week to get used to the new orthotics, then worked up to my regular 3-4 mile runs. They're very comfortable, sturdy, and I can feel that my foot is finding its own line. I have learned to expect great durability from Brooks and VIP service from RRS is outstanding!

Comments about Mens Brooks Ghost 5 Running Shoe: Use this shoe as daily trainer. Perhaps the most comfortable and relaxed shoe for mid to heavier wt distance runner. Supports mechanics easily throughout foot strike. I felt this shoe is an outstanding value. I cannot find anything wrong with it and look forward to my next pair

Comments about Mens Brooks Ghost 5 Running Shoe: I've been running in Asics Nimbus for the past several years. Didn't care for the fit of the Nimbus 14 and decided to try the neutral Ghost 5. I'm 6' 2" and 200 lbs. Usually run around 20 to 25 miles a week. Have been very pleased with this shoe. Great fit and just the right amount of cushioning. However, the shoe does fit small and I highly recommend ordering 1/2 size larger than usual.

Comments about Mens Brooks Ghost 5 Running Shoe: I was running in the Asics Noosa Tri Six and loved them. I tried the Tri Seven but did not like the fit. I had not purchased a Brooks shoe in several years and bought the Ghost 5 after reading the recommendation in the last issue of Runners' World. I have had the Ghost 5's for about four weeks and have already put 150 miles on them. They are a great shoe and the VIP price is just icing on the cake.
