I'm 6'3" and 260 pounds.. I run 3-4 miles a day, 6 days a week. Being a heavier guy, the Brooks Beast line is the only shoe I have found that supports my feet during this kind of running. This style is very similar to the Beast 11 in support and comfort, but I like that they've changed the design a little to hide the large sole that all motion control shoes have. I'm very pleased with this Brooks update.

Just got my most recent pair of Beasts. Been wearing them for 4 years now, made a mistake two pairs ago with another brand. They work well with a 3/4 length PowerStep orthotic. But have recently taken them out! This newest model the Beast 12 seems to have great support for my size 13 4E dogs without the orthotics. Recently told I have severe arthritis in my right hip, so this may be my last pair....Now to find some extra wide cycling shoes! :-)

I have been buying these shoes for years without any problems.The latest version of Brooks Beast 12 I found to narrow in the forfoot.I hope they correct the problem.

I have worn Brooks Beast for almost 20 years now. One of the few shoes that are really good for motion control and pronation control. Also one of the few shoes for really large feet. I wear a size 16 and these are great shoes for large men.

These are the second Brooks Beast shoes that I have purchased. The old ones are gray and I wear them when I work around the yard. They are a little heavier than the new ones. I believe I like the old ones better. They seem to be more solid for what I like to do which is every day walking. I think there is a huge market for seniors who like an every day shoe that looks good and gives you that real cushy feel. They should be built to last.

I have to agree with the comments that the Beast 12 is NOT the same as the Beast 11. A Beast 11 size 11 D was close to a perfect fit and shoe for me. The Beast 12 size 11 D was cramped, too narrow and a bit too short. I tried heel lifts and different ways of tying the shoe up, whatever and it got to the point where I just dreaded putting them on. I've run every day for over 33 years and to dread going is not something I want.

I do need the cushioning and rock solid stability of the Beast though, so I moved to a Beast 12 size 11 2E. This solved the narrow, cramped and too short issues, but now the shoes are just a little too big and I have to over tighten them

I understand that shoes need a makeover and/or that new materials and technologies are added to shoes year-over-year, but why do companies insist on changing the underlying sizing or other foundational qualities that, no matter the color or materials used, don't need to change once they've "got it right" for the (vast) majority of the shoe's users?

I am 6'1", 250 (was 280 when I got my 1st pair). These are my 3rd pair of Brooks Beast, and they are perfect for me. They give me no trouble at all, and I forget that I'm wearing shoes. I don't notice any less space for the toes in this model, they feel great.

I wear orthotics. Do not buy these, if you are looking for cushioning, or a repeat performance from the Beast. The Beast 12 has a lot less cushioning and it feels like that from day one. I had to color these black for work, and now am unable to return the pair. I had very high hopes for these, and now disapointment has set in with lots of pain.

These shoes were recommended to me by my Pediatrist for stability. I buy two pairs every year and alternate between the two daily. I were them to the gym 5 days a week and when I have to do a lot of walking or standing.

I only run a few miles a week, but with low arches, one leg slightly shorter than the other, and orthotic inserts, the Beast works better for me than any other shoe I've tried. (I haven't really tried too many other shoes, because they work great for me.)

I have hallux rigidus and suffered for a long time. With the advice of a doctor i have a carbon fiber orthotic insert and with this shoe all is better now. It is a fantastic shoe for control and comfort. While it is a bit heavy it has enabled me to run pain free. It does wear somewhat quickly but I can still get 500 - to 750 miles out of them. They are also comfortable for casual wear and go well with jeans.

I bought these shoes because my Asiscs are no longer available and for a person who needs a size 15 motion control shoe there is not much available. The Brooks feel smaller overall than my Asics and don't breath as well. They get the job done but I would take my old shoes (Asiscs Gel MC Plus)back in a heart beat.

I loved the old model, it felt like my feet were supported all around the foot, the new style makes my feet feel they are bulging out over the sides and I slide around. I should have bought 10 pair of the old style, I'll need to start trying others.

I use the shoe in the gym, also outdoors for walking and jogging. It feels a little tight on the sides of my feet especially when I wear thick soxes. But the overall performance is fine, I've always worn the Beast

I use The Beast for jogging. Been wearing them since 1991 when a sales rep for Road Runner Sports at the store in Mira Mesa turned me on to them. I had heel bruising at the time and I put these on and haven't had the problem since. Most comfortable shoe for me.
I'm a big guy and need something that can hang with me.

I have been wearing Brooks Beast for 8+ years. The new model is very disappointing. The entire feel of the shoe is so different than prior models. Too much cushion and a flat feel to your run. It's like I'm running in tennis shoes?

Please, please - bring back the old model!
