I'm 6'3" and 260 pounds.. I run 3-4 miles a day, 6 days a week. Being a heavier guy, the Brooks Beast line is the only shoe I have found that supports my feet during this kind of running. This style is very similar to the Beast 11 in support and comfort, but I like that they've changed the design a little to hide the large sole that all motion control shoes have. I'm very pleased with this Brooks update.

I have hallux rigidus and suffered for a long time. With the advice of a doctor i have a carbon fiber orthotic insert and with this shoe all is better now. It is a fantastic shoe for control and comfort. While it is a bit heavy it has enabled me to run pain free. It does wear somewhat quickly but I can still get 500 - to 750 miles out of them. They are also comfortable for casual wear and go well with jeans.

I use the shoe in the gym, also outdoors for walking and jogging. It feels a little tight on the sides of my feet especially when I wear thick soxes. But the overall performance is fine, I've always worn the Beast

I use The Beast for jogging. Been wearing them since 1991 when a sales rep for Road Runner Sports at the store in Mira Mesa turned me on to them. I had heel bruising at the time and I put these on and haven't had the problem since. Most comfortable shoe for me.
I'm a big guy and need something that can hang with me.

I have been wearing Brooks Beast for 8+ years. The new model is very disappointing. The entire feel of the shoe is so different than prior models. Too much cushion and a flat feel to your run. It's like I'm running in tennis shoes?

Please, please - bring back the old model!

I have been running in the last three iterations of the Beast. This being the third. I was concerned when I read that the shoe width was tight and the toebox was narrow. I actually considered buying a Saucony or New Balance of the same build. After successful half and full marathons in the previous Beast's I just couldn't change.

My concerns were confirmed when I the sneakers arrived. They felt narrow and the toebox was tight when I tried them on. Knowing the previous Beast versions have been my saviour I decided to go out for a run. They were so comfortable! I ended up doing a 9 mile run and they compleely loosened up! They are the best Beast version to date. I love them and I'm glad I stuck with a true winner for me. I'm 6' and 235. These are the only sneakers that have worked for me.

I've run in Beasts for around 15 years and have had to size up for this iteration. Otherwise a nice new addition to the lineage. Still great motion control and so far, they're great, long lasting trainers.

I've been wearing the BEAST for 7 years now. Great for stability and a pronator. I swear by this shoe and anyone that has back issues or stability issues should try this shoe. I used to sell running shoes now I wear this shoe not only for running but for everyday use as well.

As a Clydesdale class distance runner, I've worn the Beast for more than ten years. The Brooks brand and the Beast model have earned a powerful reputation among big runners for a rugged, reliable shoe. I'm baffled as to why Brooks would jeopardize that brand loyalty by making the toe box so much narrower on the Beast 12. Fortunately, I read the other reviews here before reordering, so knew to go a size wider than usual. Even so, these are a bit narrower than they should be. Length is still fine, but the width was way off.

Started running again after a 10 year lapse, at 190 lbs this was the shoe to buy. I wear orthotics (low arch)and wasn't sure if I should use them in the Beast or not...after a ton of research I decided not to. So far the shoes have been great as is. I have had PF in the past and don't want that again so i think this is the shoe for me!

I use full length orthotics in my shoes so I remove the insert that comes with the shoe.I do not find the toe box smaller than the 11. In fact, it works better for me. One great change seems to be the tightened heel box so I actually get more support. The 11's were so loose in the heel , I did not need a shoe horn. With these, I do.

I have not tried walking long distances yet, just gym use. Will report back when I walk 3-4 miles.

I'm disappointed the Brook's people have elected to exercise their own form of sequestration by reducing the width of my former "regular" width Beasts by 1/4 inch along with a comparable reduction in the height of the toe box. a perfect setup for Black Toe. Additionally sequestration has affected the length of the shoe strings by around 8 inches (shorter). I barely have enough string to tie the knot. This shoe is clearly not the shoe I started wearing many years ago with these so called improvements.

I was 306# when I started running. Went through many shoes and brands before I found these. Many pounds and miles later, I have tried others but keep coming back to the Beast. Best big man shoe I can find!
