        I ran in the defyance 5 a size 8 and stupidly bought the defyance 6 size 8 online without trying and they are a half size too small had to give them to a friend, love the shoe other than this new issue looking for a new pair

          I run about 6 miles/week and prefer a gravel trail, but will also run on asphalt. I think this is my third pair of Brooks Defyance, and even though I have liked the others, I don't remember another pair feeling so perfect from the moment I put them on.

            I really like this shoe as a solid trainer. I have worn both the Defyance and the Ghost and prefer the Defyance as it feels a bit lighter and I seem to get more miles out of it. I went back to it when the Launch was not available and have switched it to my everyday shone with the Launch being my lighter weight shoe for tempo and pace runs.

            This is a great shoe. Lighter than the Adrenalines, heavier than the Pureflows. Only problem is it aggravates the calluses on the sides & directly behind my great toes. I have to cover the areas with moleskin to alleviate the pain. Otherwise the shoes are perfect. I also experienced this same problem with the adrenalines but NOT with the PureFlows. The black pureflows with the blue tread were the most perfect shoe I've ever worn. They replaced it with that new "pink" version that caused nothing but pain from day one. I'm prepping for some half-marys & must have shoes I can run in for long distances. Thank heaven for your employee, Lauren at the Columbus store. She is wonderful & so patient with me. She needs a significant raise after dealing with me!

              Just tried them out after waiting a month to get them and will be sending them back. Have always worn the Brooks Ghost in a 7.5, ordered these in the same size and they definatly run a half size smaller. Will be trying the size 8. Other than the fact that they run small, they seem fine.
