I started training in Newtons about a year ago and loved them so much (my training and race times improved), that I swore I'd never try another shoe again. But I'm glad I did. I bought the Brooks Pure Connect 2s recently and was surprised at how well I performed in them. I also suffer from recurring achilles pain, and these shoes seemed to provide the right amount of support while allowing me to run fast at the same time. I'll be alternating between these and my newtons from now on.

Just wore them for my ironman, 26.2 miles n still running fast. I train n race in them for all distances. The fit is great and the shoe is light. They also look really good!

I love the Pure Connect 1 and have 3 pairs of them. I just tried this pair of Pure Connect 2 to see how they compare with the "1", which I love. I love them both, and will definitely keep using them. I work out every day, cardio, weight training, fitness classes, and wear these in all of those activities.

When the pure connects first came out I was in love! I have been rotating several pairs. When I saw that they had been updated I was dubious. I like the 2s even more! I run 3-4 miles daily and wear these for Crossfit. The blue is very stylish as well.

I loved the Pure Connect version one and ordered these when I needed a new pair of shoes. Unfortunately with the new design, they squeeze my toes. I suppose the concept is good but I won't get to try them out.

I am new to running and feel this shoe is a great asset. I personally don't think its comfortable enough to walk around daily or for errands, but I enjoy it on the treadmill! I love the attached tongue, no movement at all. Plus, they are so stylish!

It was love at first step. I run mostly on the road, these guys are fast and light and still a little cushiony, but without losing the close-to-the-road feeling. I probably wouldn't recommend them to heel- or mid-foot-strike runners, but for those on their toes they're fabulous. I prefer a lighter, more minimalist shoe for races and speed work, but these are wonderful for everyday and long runs. They seem to be wearing out a bit quickly, but in fairness I put a lot of miles on my shoes quickly (100+ miles per wk, the majority in this pair). I've mostly been on the road with them so far, but smooth trails have been fine also. Anyhow, awesome shoes, will most definitely buy another pair.

I have the previous generation of this shoe, and liked it except that it felt too narrow and wore out quickly. I find that it supports my high arch and corrects my tendency to supinate. I took this pair on a six mile run and had no blisters from the lack of width that I would have had from the first generation. I imagine that this shoe will also wear out quickly, but that is a low price to pay for a nicely fitting shoe. Nice job on this new shoe Brooks!

This was my first foray into Brooks, away from Asics/heavy padded heel, and toward a more natural running shoe, and I love these shoes! Ordered up a half-size (and it was the right move for me).

Pros: after tough runs, muscles feel sore (not joints!), super lightweight, mid-foot strike is natural in these shoes, love the strategic piece of fabric over the small toe area to help slow wearing out, I had no problems adjusting to the shoes/mid-foot strike

Cons: back heel rubs a bit, feels a little narrow (I would have gone wide in these if available), traction is not terrific on wet streets, would love a little less bright shoe color option

I have loved the originals but wished they didn't feel quite so narrow (like I had little stability underfoot) or choking on the Nav band. Plus, they were giving me tiny corns. When I read last fall that the second generation would have offset lacing and a more flexible upper, I thought that Brooks had telepathy and had read my thoughts. It's true -- they did! I never imagined my neutral foot could feel so stable and yet so connected to the ground in any shoe. These Pure Connect 2s were to be an early February birthday gift to me but were on back order, so I've only had them two weeks, but I can already feel the difference from the two pairs of first generations I own. I also have noted that I don't scuff the toes (I'm a midfoot/forefoot-lander) as easily on this pair. The originals showed signs of toe scuff wear almost immediately, but I've only scuffed each shoe of the 2s once so far and see no wear yet (running at least every other day, 2-5 miles at a time). While I don't feel like they'll wear out quickly, I want to grab another pair for when weather improves and my mileage increases! I'm a size 7.5 regular shoe but always wear 8 in Brooks and find the 8 to fit perfectly in the Connect 2 as well.

I am a personal trainer, Crossfit enthusiast and marathon runner. I LOVE LOVE LOVE these shoes. I ran through 3 pairs of the first generation of the Pure Connects and loved them, except for my 4th toe on the left foot constantly being jammed into the edge of the shoe (it's a problem I have with many shoes). With the new, more flexible upper of the second generation that problem has gone away. I ran 14 miles yesterday (only my second run in the shoes) and had no issues at all. I have loved the idea of a minimalist shoe but ended up with a stress fracture from going a little TOO minimalist a year and a half ago. The Connects are perfect - they are lightweight with a low heel to toe ration but with enough cushioning and support to avoid injury. For me, at least, it doesn't get much better than this.

As a side note, I had to go up another half size from what I normally wear in a running shoe...
