Comments about Womens Brooks PureFlow 2 Running Shoe: Track and cross country long distance

Comments about Womens Brooks PureFlow 2 Running Shoe: I loved the original PureFlows - they were immensely comfortable and helped me increase my running distance. The PureFlow 2 felt like an entirely different shoe. The fit is more tight (and I have narrow feet to begin with!) but the off-center lacing is what really caused problems for me. I wore the shoes twice just walking to break them in, and had to send them back due to the glaring pain the lacing caused on the top of my foot. Loosening the laces only loosened the shoe to the point where they slipped off. Would never recommend these shoes. I really hope the next generation is more like the original!

Comments about Womens Brooks PureFlow 2 Running Shoe: Love Brooks - when I needed to switch to a neutral shoe, I tried out the predecessor, and this next generation did not disappoint either.

Comments about Womens Brooks PureFlow 2 Running Shoe: I had two pairs of the Pureflow 1, and I like the improvements made to Pureflow 2. It seems more durable. The tongue construction is MUCH better; I really like that. The shoe was a little stiffer out of the box than Pureflow 1, but it still provides enough cushion. I think the construction may be more durable than the Pureflow 1. I wear these for short jogs (2 miles), CrossFit, racquetball, and volleyball. The low platform is good for CrossFit, and the shoe has enough support for the amount of running I do.

Comments about Womens Brooks PureFlow 2 Running Shoe: Really really like the cushion, but hard on the ankles - blisters! Waiting to see if they resolve, but the high back rubs in the wrong place.

Comments about Womens Brooks PureFlow 2 Running Shoe: I first want to say that I have average width feet, my feet are flat (or rather flatten out when I run), and I overpronate. Despite running stores trying to put me into a stability shoe, I do best and have way less injuries when I wear a minimalist shoe. I currently run in Merrell Bare Access Arc 2. I've had great success with that shoe for the last year. I got these because I wanted something with a bit more cushion for runs longer than 6 miles, but still have the minimalist experience. These shoes were recommended (along with the Brooks PureCadence 2 which is suppose to be more for overpronaters). I tried both shoes and disliked both, but this review is for the PureFlow 2.
Pros Cons
Best Uses Comments about Womens Brooks PureFlow 2 Running Shoe: I had three pair of the previous shoe. First of all the new ones seem too narrow to me and very uncomfortable. Tried running in them about 10 times or so. Finally sending them back. I also agree with other reviews about the lacing. Not RRS fault, Brooks is to blame. Now I have to figure out what to wear next.

Comments about Womens Brooks PureFlow 2 Running Shoe: very comfortable, gently hugs foot, nice wide toebox. good cushion but sole is a bit too soft/spongy for me.

Comments about Womens Brooks PureFlow 2 Running Shoe: I have been wearing Brooks for more than 20 years. I loved the original pure flow. They are the only running shoes I can wear for more than just running, that actually look good and are comfortable. I bought the men's version of the pure flow 2 at my local store because they only had the women's in that pink which was a real turn off. Not all of us like pink for our shoes! I think the original pure flow was/is a more comfortable running shoe, although I don't mind the asymetrical lacing on the newer version. I do not run the 40 + miles a week I used to, but a high performance shoe with cushioning is still important to me. Although I ended up w/black on black I would have preferred the color pop of another color accent, not pink.

Comments about Womens Brooks PureFlow 2 Running Shoe: I bought these just before my 2nd half marathon & wore them for the race b/c I loved them so much. They are lightweight & cushiony! I run 15-20 miles a week on pavement, rocks, & sand/dirt. They are durable. I have high arches, I over-pronate, and I have experienced early signs of PF (plantar fasciitis). I love these shoes, they feel great while running & my feet don't hurt after long runs. I've worn Nike Zoom Structure 15+, Skecher GoRun 2, Mizuno Wave Inspire 9, New Balance road minimus 10, and Saucony Progrid Mirage 3. None of them compare to my PureFlow 2s. I never tried the 1st original PureFlows but I can't say enough good things about the 2s. Since late May, I've put nearly 200 miles on them & they are still running strong.

Comments about Womens Brooks PureFlow 2 Running Shoe: Nice secure fit with the side-lacing system. I have bunions, so they are close to being too narrow in the forefoot. For a minimalist shoe, there is excellent cushioning throughout. Nice, fast ride. Recommend.

Comments about Womens Brooks PureFlow 2 Running Shoe: First, let me say that I ran through three pairs of the original Pureflow's. These were my go-to shoes and I LOVED them. I run three to five miles 5-6 days a week unless I'm training for a race, then I usually rack up more mileage. I also do two days of Zumba and two days of strength training every week.

Comments about Womens Brooks PureFlow 2 Running Shoe: This is my 2nd pair of Pure Flow2's. Previously to the modification , I was pleased (actually loooved!) the pure flow, as I had gone through 4 pair training for marathons and other various distances. The new model is lacking in its previous quality, specifically in the heel and tounge. There is less padding and almost feels like an entirely different fabric too. Just makes it not nearly as comfortable. Plus, I went through my first pair of the new model at just 200 miles. Before, I could get at least 300 miles and I was happy with that. The ONLY positive thing about this shoe is the positioning of the laces. It works well with someone who has high arches. I'm afraid though that is not good enough for me. I will have to look for a new shoe now in about 150 miles. Sad I will have to say bye to what was once the perfect shoe.

Comments about Womens Brooks PureFlow 2 Running Shoe: Hate the new design! I've worn Brooks for 13 years and will try something new until they fix the design. I get blisters in places I never have and the tongue slides down to the side due to new design. The PureFlow 1 was awesome. Bring it back!!

Comments about Womens Brooks PureFlow 2 Running Shoe: I love this shoe. It's a great in between if you want something more light weight without a complete barefoot feel. A good "more minimal" shoe. The color is much more pink/bright than in this image - in a good way. Highly recommend it. Used to wear the Nike Vomero, then switched to Newtons - this is the perfect in between.

Best Uses Comments about Womens Brooks PureFlow 2 Running Shoe: These were my 3rd pair of Pure Flow and probably my last. I ran a marathon last year in the the Electric Purple Pure Flow 1. I had no problems with foot pain. I got the Pure Flow 2 pair to train for my 2nd marathon. The fit and style has totally changed. The toe box is more narrow. After training for about a month with these I had to go back to my older shoes. These shoes caused my feet to hurt. Now I am trying to heal from the foot pain so I can run my upcoming marathon. These shoes are going back to the store. Unless Brooks changes back to the old styling, I will by buying a different brand of shoe.

Comments about Womens Brooks PureFlow 2 Running Shoe: I wore these shoes on an 8 mile run right out of the box without any issues. The forefoot cushioning is great, but if you heel strike at all, these are not the shoes for you. They definitely promote proper running form. Love how light weight they are. I'm curious to see how many miles I get out of these. My previous shoe of choice was the Brooks Defyance 5, which I would get about 350 miles worth of use. They did feel a tiny bit narrow at first, but I didn't notice anything after a few runs. Pink/black color is very bright, but cute!

Comments about Womens Brooks PureFlow 2 Running Shoe: I bought these shoes for my lovely wife who was complaining about pains and aches from running. I suggested new shoes and proactively bought her PureFlow 2. Today she just finished a 1/2 marathon and did a PR. She was so happy with these shoes lightweight feel, flexible, and cushion and here it is at the end of the day and aches and pains. I hope she doesn't find out about the nickname.
Pros Cons
Best Uses Comments about Womens Brooks PureFlow 2 Running Shoe: Very disappointed. I loved the Pureflow I, but this new version is completely different. I hate the curved lacings. I have been a Brooks fan for years, but this is a terrible shoe.

Pros Cons
Best Uses Comments about Womens Brooks PureFlow 2 Running Shoe: I have been wearing Brooks for years. I really liked the first Pureflow. The Pureflow 2 is a huge disappointment. The shape of the lacings is weird and awkward. The shoe does not fit well at all. I like Brooks because of the wide toe box, but this shoe dropped that feature. PLEASE GO BACK to the original, or I will find a new brand of shoe.

Comments about Womens Brooks PureFlow 2 Running Shoe: I'm wearing these training for a marathon. I Love them! I had pureconnects until they wore out and I needed a cushier shoe. These fit the bill! They're not as glove-like as the earlier shoes, but it's not a big deal. They still hug my arch and have felt great on my 10+ mile runs. I'm going to order another pair for the marathon!

Comments about Womens Brooks PureFlow 2 Running Shoe: This was my second pair in the Pure Flow line. I enjoyed the pure flow 1. However, I had constant lower back pain with the pure flow 2. This is the first time I have sent a shoe back. Another big problem I had was when running outside, if the ground had any type of moisture on it, the toes of my socks were wet within the first 1/2 mile. By mile 2 my socks were completely soaked. I had neither of these problems with the pure flow 1. I have been running in Brooks for over 6 years now and this has been my least favorite shoe.

Comments about Womens Brooks PureFlow 2 Running Shoe: I have been running in the original Brooks Pure Flows off and one for the past several months and these are much cushier than the updated Flow 2. The original Flows also snug your feet better than the Flow 2s. I found that one of the heels on my new pair was slipping on one side, which was never an issue in the original ones. I just feel like the materials used to manufacture these are cheaper. The actual color on the outside almost looked sprayed on. They just didn't feel as supportive or as cushy as the first Pure Flows. I sent them back b/c they didn't fit as well either.

Comments about Womens Brooks PureFlow 2 Running Shoe: Full disclosure... I'm not a runner. I do just about everything else. Weights, kickboxing, instanity, etc.
