Comments about Mens Brooks PureGrit 2 Trail Running Shoe: Was looking for a trail shoe for fairly long runs (12-20 miles). I bought Pureflow 2s last year for faster runs while bringing up my speed and enjoyed them so figured I'd give the Puregrit 2s a go. I've gone half a size up on the Pureflows as I found them tight across the toes, however even at half a size up I still find them a bit tight. I guess it's just the shape of the shoe is narrower than I'm used to? I've used them for the last couple of weeks on mixed on/off road routes and they are ok up to about 5-6 miles, light and easy to run in. Beyond about 6 miles I start to get sore ankles and the tightness across the toes gets irritating. They're nice shoes and I'll carry on using them for shorter runs but will look for something with a bit more support for longer.
Comments about Mens Brooks PureGrit 2 Trail Running Shoe: This shoe makes me want to run. I prefer a lightweight shoe but I'm not a fan of a minimalist shoe - I find the majority to be flimsy and lacking any support whatsoever. This shoe has great torsional stability in the midfoot and runs cool. eventhough the sole is thinner than others on the market, I don't seem to feel the same heat on the bottom of my foot; esp when on pavement. I've put approx. 60 miles on these guys and haven't seen any breakdown in stability. I will by another pair.

Comments about Mens Brooks PureGrit 2 Trail Running Shoe: I love these shoes. I train 30-50 miles/week, these are the perfect training shoes for me. Most of my runs include both pavement and trails, and these shoes work great for both. The combination of these features is why I like them: low heel-to-toe drop (4 mm), durable rubber tread, flat sole that is predictable on rough terrain, enough cushioning for concrete/asphalt, and a large toe box to allow room for toes to spread out a bit. I've had a hard time finding all that in one shoe.

Comments about Mens Brooks PureGrit 2 Trail Running Shoe: I was a fan of the first pure grit.... I love the pure grit 2 ... Much better shoe but heavier. Great for trail runs and asphalt too.

Comments about Mens Brooks PureGrit 2 Trail Running Shoe: This is a reasonably cushioned yet light shoe. It feels low to the ground and light. I ran on dirt trails, and had no trouble with rocks or roots.

Comments about Mens Brooks PureGrit 2 Trail Running Shoe: PureGrit 1 was the best shoe I have ever run in. Period. This update is no doubt based on feedback from runners who thought the upper was uncomfortable and the bottom lug nuts were slippery. However, this update has an entirely different fit. The shoe seems too snug in odd places. Further, the new bottom lug nuts are fine on dirt but not as good on loose rock. I would urge Brooks to bring back the PureGrit 1.

Comments about Mens Brooks PureGrit 2 Trail Running Shoe: Not sure how rugged this shoe is, but it's so good looking I don't want to get it roughed up. Seems like it will be durable.

Comments about Mens Brooks PureGrit 2 Trail Running Shoe: These shoes are pure pleasure. Minimal but with sufficient protection for trail running, and very light. Extremely comfortable. They promote a mid-foot strike and fast cadence. Great sense of connection with the ground.

Comments about Mens Brooks PureGrit 2 Trail Running Shoe: This is an awesome shoe! I tried the PureCadence from the original line and just felt like it was too much, so I gave the PureGrit 2 a chance the second time around. I couldn't be happier. The shoe fits well, is aptly cushioned without being too much, and it works well on both trail and road. Finally, the outsole of the shoe is the most consistent sole in the Pure line. There are no lugs that stand out like there are in the Drift, Connect, Flow, and Cadence. The asymmetric lacing is comfortable as well.
