Seriously, this is the BEST pair of running shoes I have ever owned. Heck, best pair of any kind of shoes I have ever owned. After getting my feet and running analyzed at Road Runner, I learned that I was a mid-foot-strike runner; my left arch was normal; my right arch was high (which explains why I have injured that arch and ankle in the past) and that a neutral shoe would be best for me. I tried on several pairs of shoes including this Brooks Ghost 6, and oh my gosh, it was WAY better than all the others I tried! In the past, I'd run in Nike and Asics, which are good shoes (Asics are my favorite for the gym, HIIT, and plyometric workouts), but when it comes to running, I am a Brooks girl for sure! I own a pair of Brooks Launch and Glycerin 10 -- both good shoes, but for me, Launch isn't quite enough cushion for runs over 13 miles and Glycerin 10 is a stability shoe and a little heavy, at least for me. The Brooks Ghost 6 is PERFECT, soooo comfortable, and protects my feet (never got a blister yet nor injured my arches). I run 25-35 miles a week and training for a full marathon. The only con I have for this shoe is that the treads on the outer edge of the heals wear out faster than I would like, but then again, I run on asphalt. So every 200-250 miles, I get a new pair just to play it safe. I'm on my 4th pair now. I'll probably end up buying a couple more of these and even more than that if the next version of the Ghost isn't as good as the current. In any case, Ghost 6 -- LOVE them!!!
I am getting older now and I suffered through back pain therapy a few years ago after I had torn a disk. I no longer run miles, but I do a lot of fitness walking and sprints, plus step aerobics and strength training. I have been committed to working out for most of my life because I simply love it. What I want most in a shoe these days is cushion and stability. It makes a huge difference in my workouts. The last shoes I purchased were much cheaper and they were horrible. I have owned Brooks running shoes in the past and I remember how great they felt on my feet and how they helped my performance. I am extremely happy with the Brooks Ghost 6. I ordered 1/2 size up and they fit perfectly. The toe area is not too narrow and they provide a nice amount of cushioning with each step. Plus, they are wonderfully lightweight and they provide the right amount of stability, as I do a lot of exercises that require me to balance on my feet. The Ghost 6 is cute enough to walk around in, but I use them specifically for exercising. I have made up my mind to never again buy cheap shoes that are cheaply made. You get what you pay for in the end. The Brooks Ghost 6 is worth its price. I highly recommend them.

Light, comfy, but not as supportive as 5
The 5 was my go-to long run/marathon shoe, and this shoe is improved in many aspects. The fit is better (for me); I had to wear a narrow in the 5 but a standard in the 6 is fine. The toebox is longer but more narrow, so I ended up sizing down 1/2 size from my usual running shoe size (I usually wear 1 full size bigger than my dress shoe size) and wear thinner socks. The upper and laces are constructed of a new lightweight woven material that makes the shoe conform better to the foot and is super breathable. The shoe is lighter and more flexible overall, as the plastic shank is gone from the midsole; no more inititial "clunky feeling" I sometimes experienced in the ride of the 5. My biggest caveats: the shoe is missing some of the support of the 5, which was a fairly stable, incredibly cushioned shoe for its weight. My feet never took a beating in the 5 in runs over 20 miles but they feel more impact in this shoe. Also, I'm not sure how durable the outsole will be. I have 70 miles on my pair and the rubber nubs appear to be wearing faster than my 5's, which I got a good 350 miles out of. (I am a 5'6 120 lb. midfoot striker who averages 50 mpw).
Love this shoe!
I had been running in the Ghost 5 for about a year and had was actually looking forward to going back to Asics, my preferred brand. The 5 was good for me, but not great - it just felt flat. When I tried these on I loved them, and was interested to see how they did on the road. I ended up buying Asics while waiting for my Ghost 6 to come in (had to order my size) and after running twice in the Ghost 6, one 12 and one 6, I am so happy I bought them. I've seen comments that the cushioning is not as good in the 6 as in the 5, and while it may be that my 5s had too many miles on them (I wait forever before replacing shoes) I am in the minority, as the cushioning in these is perfect - I feel like I'm running on clouds. I'm interested to see how these shoes wear and how they do with increased mileage, as I typically am running 30-50 miles per week, but so far these are great!
Great shoe, just needs to come in 2E
I had repeatedly told my original sales gal that I had VERY wide feet. After trying on many pairs of shoes, I finally settled on the Brooks Ghost. Unfortunately, when I walked, my feet would go numb and felt like someone had squeezed the middle of my foot. I returned the shoes and THANK YOU greatly for your return policy. I found out that 2E shoes are not stocked. No wonder the sales gal only had me try on D shoes. The great sales guy today helped me and we have ordered a new pair of shoes in a 2E. I feel I should have been told this the first time I came into the store and I am very disappointed with my original sales gal. I was delighted to be treated by the sales guy and he did a great job.
Amazing shoes for avid runners
I love these shoes! I am an avid high school runner (I run cross country and track), and run an average of 24 miles a week. These shoes are very comfortable and cushiony, while providing adequate support at the same time. They are perfect for my super high arches, and help relieve pain in my knee to to an injury. I am currently on my second pair, and am likely to buy a third pair. The only minor con is that they wear out fairly quickly, but are overall totally worth the purchase. I highly recommend them for trail running, road running, and running on the track.
(For reference, I have the silver/aqua color, and I like it a lot.)

The great Ghost is back!
If you liked the Ghost series 3 & 4, this is your shoe. Brooks made uncomfortable revisions with the Ghost 5 that made me switch running shoes. The Ghost 6 is like putting back on an old friend. I've done several long runs in these and they feel great. I like a lot of cushioning even though I am a lightweight and this shoe has it without feeling squishy. I have a wide foot and ordered the same size I usually order in a Brooks (a size and a half up from my street shoe) and the medium is fine for me, I do not feel I need a wide. So far, I feel no sliding along the insole and do not think I will develop any black toe wearing these. Again, if you have been a Ghost 3 or 4 wearer, these feel like them.
I like the Ghost 5 better
I am an ultra runner. Last year I ran (2) 50Ks, a trail marathon, a road marathon, a 1/2 marathon and the Ragnar Relay. When I train for a marathon, I run at least eight, 1/2 marathons to prepare and three, twenty mile runs. So last year, I did this at least four times! I LOVE and re-purchased the Ghost 5. I would have gone for it again, but felt like I would try the 6. I did not read any reviews because I could not get enough of the Ghost and Brooks and just bought them. Well, my feet are hurting! The type of hurting when you buy a different style of shoe, i.e., lower profile, less cushioning, etc. I tried to exchange them for 5's but Road Runner did not have any more 5s. I will have to buy them elsewhere. . . bummed.
Great fit, not enough cusining for me
This was my 3rd pair of Ghost(previously ran in the 2 and 5). After buying and then testing on the treadmill for 2 runs of about 4-5 miles each I returned them (VIP Benefit). While I love the fit(hugs my foot in the arch and ample room in the toe box),it does not have the amount of cushioning that I like. They felt very flat, as if they were made of cardboard. I developed Plantar Faciitis when running in the 5 in 2013, so except for races (I wear Brooks Launch - love them!!!), now I only run in Neutral+ shoes for training runs for the added cushioning. I liked the new yellow/lime/silver color rather than the pinks/purples/blues that are so common.

These shoes are great!
I walk four miles a day. I needed a comfortable shoe as I am an older person and have some foot problems. I bought a pair of Brooks about seven years ago and wore holes in the soles and did not want to part with them. I found these on line and they are wonderful. Very comfortable and cushioned and cool in the Arizona heat. They are wider in the toes so perfect for me. I have a narrow foot but need the width by the toes and these are good for my needs. I was afraid I would not get another pair like my last ones and these are even better.
Like the Ghost 5 Better!!!
I have been running (sporadically) in the Ghost 5 for the last 2 years. I recently decided to start running on a regular basis again (after many injuries). I have a 4M run and 10K in the next few months and I decided to buy new sneakers. I originally opted for the Glycerin 11 which were awesome, but I was still attached to my Ghost 5. So I decided to return the Gylcerin and try the Ghost 6. While I do love 6 better then the Glycerin, I don't love them as much as the 5. I am not disappointed at all with the 6, but for me the 5 are the best sneakers I have ever run in.
Exchanging Ghost 6 for Ravenna 4
I run 30 - 40 miles/week most weeks of the year training for various 1/2 and full marathons. I have always worn the Brooks Ravennas, but thought I would try the Ghost since it tends to be a bit lighter, and my friends have had good luck with it. It turns out that I do need the slight stability control and cushioning that Ravenna provides. Perhaps the Ghost 5 and below would have suited me, but this feels like direct impact on the pavement. Happily, I can exchange them and get back to my beloved Ravennas.
The Friendly Ghost
I have worn Ghost 6s through 2 marathons (one as a heel striker; the second with a forefoot emphasis) and they've helped minimize injury and maintain stability and control without being quote-unquote stability shoes. They are a great midweight trainer: Durable and comfortable. I will stick with them as long as they're available. (I was a wear-tester for the Ghost 7 and didn't prefer the test model at all, though it's possible much has changed since production...)
The Dreaded Shoe Change
I have worn each generation of the Ghost and I am afraid that this new version will have me scrambling to find another shoe. From the moment I put them on, I could tell there was less cushioning. There was never that "ah" feeling that comes from new shoes. I am definitely feeling the road, which isn't necessarily a good thing when you run 60 miles per week. I have worn these for 3 weeks, for 150+ miles, and I have worsening of my Achilles tendinitis, as well as foot pain on both sides. I hate when they mess with the perfect shoe.
Better but not there yet (for me)
I love the re-designed tongue of the shoe and the laces. The ghost 4's had a very thick tongue and short, hard to keep tied laces. The 5's are much better. However, I don't feel as though the 5's have the same stability and support in the inner toe/ball of the foot area. There are many things I like, but the one thing I don't (mentioned above) is a very big one for the way I run. It may not affect other runners the same way.
Satisfied with shoe
Very satisfied with shoe. Had Asics and these feel lighter and I am running a little bit faster in these. Right toe was hitting end but when I laced the highest holes, it pulled my foot back and gave complete support. My foot doesn't move around or slide left or right in this shoe. I like it and am going to go with it. Ran around 30 miles in it already.

Love the shoe - wrong color sent
These shoes are great. Comfort and fit are perfect. I can't speak to durability yet.
Bummer was that Road Runner sent a different color than what I actually ordered. But thankfully, RR was more than willing to ship the right color the minute I reported the error. I didn't even have to wait until the wrong shoes were returned. They just sent the right shoes.... Thank you Road Runner!!
Cushioning but not durable
I use them for running on the treadmill & outdoors. I love the cushioning. I wear 7B but for running I usually buy 7D because my feet swells. But its not snug fit so my feet slides and the toe space is great. Its not bouncy and so the sole or the ball of your feet is worn quickly and so its not durable. The 7B is alright for weight training but I find that the middle is narrow. I like them better than ghost 5.
10 miles out of the box!
My friend raves about these shoes (said they finally got rid of a 2-year bout of plantar fasciitis), so I had to try them for myself. Ran over 10 miles of road + trail + packed beach sand and they felt like slippers on my feet - in other words, amazing. That's right out of the box that morning too. This older color combo of dark gray and pink doesn't show the dirt, love them!

Problems came up first time running.
I LOVE Brooks, I've been running in their shoes for the past 6 years. I didn't notice any problems with the Ghost 6 (my first time in the Ghost) until I ran in them for more than a mile, the inside of my knees were hitting together in a way I was unfamiliar with...next day my right knee was swollen and both were aching. For some reason the shoe leads my feet to roll inward and my knees to bow together...bad deal. I was able to exchange them for the Defyance. Definitely give these shoes a decent test-run before making your final decision.
I have used this shoe for about 2 weeks or less. I use these shoes strictly for working out. I work out 6 days a week for about 1 or so of high intensity training. On Saturday's I use these shoes for 5.5 mile trail run. Other than the shoes getting pretty dirty from the trail, they are light, durable, have good cushion (I also have the road runner inserts) traction and fit well.

I feel that I have finally found a shoe that helps with my right foot metatarsal pain. I also use orthotics and with these shoes I can run more frequently, pain free. The staff at Road Runner Sports were very helpful in analyzing my foot strike and measurement needs. I never realized I needed a wide width shoe before and I've been running for 40 years!
Love this shoe!
I've been running for years, trying all different types of shoes. This is by far the best. I run about 50 miles/month mostly outside, but on the treadmill when the weather is atrocious - these shoes work equally well on both surfaces. I used to have plantar fascitis, but this has gone away thanks to these shoes and the berry SuperFeet insole. Highly recommend!
Awesome shoe for neutral runner.
I am on my second pair this year. They are great shoes for those who do not pronate. They are lightweight and tons of room in the toe box. I went up a full size for running to protect my toenails. The shoe lasted me about 6 months with 30 plus miles a week. Tried a few other Brooks. Even the new Trandsend.. and went right back to these. My favorite!
Great running shoe
Very comfortable for running pavement. Roomy in toe box ... I wasn't expecting these sneakers to be quite as good as they are. Prefer these to the gel nimbus 16. After running in these I bought 2 more pairs. The fact that they do look good with jeans is a bonus. Note .. I'm a size 7 shoe but buy 8.5 with all running shoes.. Same holds true for these.
Liked the Ghost 5 and used it to finish my Portland Half--good shoe. The Ghost 6--GREAT shoe! Seems more cushioned and more responsive...love this shoe and bought 2 more pairs! Tried the Asics Cumulus but the Ghost 6 is just so much superior. I am a heavy runner but with a high arch and neutral gait, and I love this shoe. Thanks Brooks!
Brooks Ghost 6
I am a Brooks die hard but wasn't liking the new Glycerin 11 so thought I would give these a try... they felt really comfortable and had good cushion. but something wasn't working right my knees would ache the next day even with a short run of 2 miles, I even put my insoles in and that didn't help... So I had to take them back.
Lightweight and comfortable
This shoe is great! I was loyal to Asics until last summer when I went to a RRS store and tried on the Brooks Glycerin. I was sold! I decided to try something less expensive this time and am very happy I did. The Ghost is more flexible and lighter weight than the Glycerin, and it has tons of cushion. I can't speak to durability yet.

Love this shoe
I love these shoes. I'm on my 7th or 8th pair-I've trained for multiple races (from 5k to marathon and everything in-between) in them. They're sturdy enough for long runs and heavy-mileage weeks, but not so cushioned that you feel like you're dragging pillows around on your run. I'll be buying the Ghosts them until they stop making them.
Lightweight Neutral Shoe
I'm just getting back into running after ACL replacement, so I'm not running a ton. These shoes are lightweight and don't weigh me down, yet still give the cushion and wide toe box I've always loved about Brooks. I don't normally wear running shoes casually, but I like the way they feel so I make an exception.
