Product BRK1123 Review

After running in a pair of Brooks Revenna 4s (!!) for two years, I knew I needed an update. I spent HOURS and HOURS, here at RR researching shoes. I cannot say enough about these PureFlows!! They are light, light, light and super-duper comfy for the 1-2 miles that I run 5x a week. (I bought two pairs so I can rotate and get the maximum "cush" out of them:) They felt awesome from the very first moment I put them on and took off. I have a high arch support and these fill that space in very well. I really like the sewn in tongue and now cannot imagine buying a pair of Brooks that did not offer it. The laces seemed ridiculously short at first, but now I realize they have some magical grip about them and do not need to be double-knotted. I might add that these are airy mesh and not at all waterproof. (I also bought a pair of Brooks Ghost GTX to take care of snow and rain.)

Not good for wide feet

I loved the look of these shoes, and I've had Pure Flows before, and LOVED my old ones. Unfortunately, I have wide feet and there is a tiny bit of leather fabric that goes across the toe box that was really digging into the side of my foot. It was digging in so badly that it was burning at the end of my workout. I used them for kickboxing and a little running. When I ran, I noticed the cushioning wasn't as thick as it was on my old ones. I noticed them not been very comfortable the second I put them on. I thought maybe if I wore them they would stretch, but they are just too painful to wear again. I need to return them. I realize that these are the older model, so the Pure Flow 4's might be back to the comfort of my old ones. I saw many other great reviews on these, so maybe it's just my foot shape.

LOVE these shoes!

These shoes are comfortable and support my arch (I don't feel the usual "fallen arch" that I'll experience when breaking in new shoes). I ran 3.5miles in them right out of the box at my fastest pace and I felt great afterwards. My calves were a little sore afterwards since these shoes really keep you in fore/mid foot running which I'm still relatively new to. Nonetheless, I love the snug fit and light weight feeling of the shoe. It's a little too narrow on my right foot but I've only been running in them for a week now so they are starting to break in and stretch a little more. I'd definitely recommend these shoes...they are really helping me push myself to run further and faster while still maintaing good running form.

great fit and value

This shoe fits like a racing flat; snug, yet not tight. Has nice cushion, but it is leaning toward a minimal shoe. NOT a min. shoe, however. I find that even on wet surfaces, it has a nice grip/feel. I like the offset lacing - they have changed the 4's to a traditional lacing system and also not offset; I much prefer the 3's. I think this is an excellent shoe for concrete/pavement, etc. The offset makes midfoot landing "sweet". I overaged 20-30 miles per week on trails until a severe injury. I switched to these during my recovery and it has helped me regain my running.

Huge improvement from Pureflow 2!

I loved the PureFlow 1, hated the 2's (returned them - they felt narrow on my narrow feet, and hot), and am now back to loving the 3's. They have a little more room in the toe box than the 2's without being as roomy as the 1's. They feel a lot more agile and springy than the 1's or 2's while being really responsive. I ran 12 miles in them without a break-in period; I highly recommend this shoe. I wore as size 10 in the 1's and ordered the same in the 3's; I exchanged the size 10 for a 9.5.

Best Running Shoe

I have had 3 pairs of the PureFlow 3's. They are a great shoe. A local running store reccomended them to me after having bunion surgery on both feet last year. I have not had any problems with the shoes or my feet hurting. I have thought about trying another neutral light weight shoe, but why mess with a good thing? I have found that these shoes don't make it much past 300 miles. I can usually tell when they are giving out by little aches and pains that show up. Great shoe and will continue to run in them!!! Have trained and ran my first 1/2 marathon in my latest pair!!

These are my favorite running shoes... ever! I will say that they are best suited for fore/midfoot strikers and that heel strikers will likely find the shoe unwieldy. The only issue I can see is that roadrunner, in my opinion, has them categorized incorrectly as performance neutral. That's crazy.. I have run in many other performance neutral shoes and these things feel like hokas comparably. I can go for long runs in these with no problems whereas other shoes will cause my forefoot to bruise and feet ache.

Great running shoe!

I rotate my running shoes and I have put about 8 miles on these shoes so far. They are great. I run in my PureFlow 2's as well and the 3's have made great improvements. The toe box seems a little wider and more comfortable in my opinion. They fit my full size orthotics perfectly. Without the orthotics they are definitely not a shoe for people who are pronaters. The bottom of the show has also had adjustments to it. There's more cushioning on the sole than the 2's had.

Gets better every time

This is my third pair. I wasn't crazy about any of the colors that the 3 came out in, but tried a pair on and they felt so amazing I quit caring. I like to use this shoe for tempo and long runs, and racing half marathons if my legs are feeling a little too beat up for a racing flat. They have a neat fit, cushiony but still feel fast and small. The only downside is that they wear out around 300 miles, but they are also less pricey than the energy boost, my other fave so it all works out.

I only was able to wear this shoe for 3 months before it wore out. It provided minimal cushioning and support in comparison to my Mizuno shoes and its durability was extremely poor. I do body combat and body pump and although it worked for pump, it's poor cushioning made it a bad choice for combat which encompasses much cardio and kick boxing. In my opinion, worst sneaker I have ever owned.

Brooks are the best!

This is my fourth pair of Brooks. Typically I've worn (and still do) the Brooks Glycerine. This is a new type shoe for me as I've suffered with achilles tendonitis. I haven't had a chance to run in this shoe yet because I'm getting used to the heel drop and I am getting over achilles tendonitis. Looking forward to my first run in this shoe.

I'm Smitten!

This shoe is perfect! Very lightweight, good cushioning and good arch support with a bit of stability. This shoe disappears on my feet when I run (25-30 miles per week). I slightly overpronate and have high arches that get sore in other shoes without inserts, but no issues in these babies right out of the box. And (bonus!)they are relatively inexpensive.

Better Than PureFlow 2

I have been running in the PureFlow line since it's inception. The new Pure Flow 3 is almost a cross between PF 1 and PF 2. It is not as cushioned as the PF1 but hugs the foot better. It also hugs the foot better than the PF 2 and seems more stable. So far, I like the shoe enough to think about cuing up a second pair. I run on the roads 5-6 miles per time.

almost perfect shoes!

The only negative to these shoes is the color selection - the "charcoal" looks more gray in the picture than they actually are. The shoes are really black. The color aside, I love these shoes. Very cushioned yet also lightweight. I ran 5 miles in them the very first run, and they felt great. I have since run a 14 mile long run in them with no problems.

Great buy

Love all brooks pure models. I particularly love the pure flows for high volume running. I feel like they hold up well. I've run two marathons in the pure flows and don't intend on switching any time soon. I will be wearing these in the Boston Marathon is April!

Favorite shoes

I had a pair of 2's & really liked them. So I tried the 3's next & liked them as much or more! Went on to the 4's, but didn't like them nearly as much. So I came back to the 3's for another pair! I'm a 5'2" female & run about 10-20 miles/week. Pureflow 3's are definitely my shoe if choice.

Run for Fun!

super comfortable

I jog about 15 miles per week, 3 or 4x per week. I am female and 50 years old and about 150 pounds. I am a slow runner but I like getting out there! I like the low profile of these shoes (low heel to toe offset) combined with the cushioning.

Best Running Shoe Yet

Running I have had a lot of Brooks. The only sneaker I run in. The pureflow 3 is my best Brooks purchase to date. This will now be my staple Brooks. I love them. They feel amazing!

Great Shoe - almost as good as 2

Great neutral shoe that also provides some cushioning for impact. I highly recommend this shoe to forefoot runners.
