I usually like Brooks but these shoes were a disappointment. The shoes are ok comfort wise. The size was as advertised and the fit was fine. However after two weeks the insoles had folded up, making it impossible to run without replacing them. At first I thought it might be the increase moisture from summer running, but I put some insoles from a different pair of Brooks inside the Glycerin 12 and haven't had the same problem. If it had been one insole I'd give them the benefit of the doubt, but both is a problem.
After about a month of use these have tremendous wear on the bottom and will have to be replaced soon. I run a lot (about 70 miles a week, both trail and asphalt), but I've never had a pair that wouldn't easily go at least two months. I haven't changed my running style so I'll just conclude that these shoes may not be built for the type of running I do.
If you use your own insoles and use the Glycerin 12 for casual running they may perform fine. I'd use caution before buying them for long distance runs.

Disappointed in Brooks
Very disappointed with Brooks these past few years. Although their shoes are starting to become more visually appealing, there performance and comfort have been sacrificed. I love Brooks,I love Brooks, I love Brooks (Just want that engrained into you) always have loved Brooks, but for whatever reason they are no longer the shoe I've been accustomed to using in years past. These were hard, like running with cowboy boots, I'm from Texas, I've done it before. Stiff, not as flexible, not cushioned, nor durable like the others, plus $140 for kicks that feel as hard as mesquite, come on man! It took me just one day to send these back (Thank you Road Runner Sports for your continued Awesomeness!). I don't ever comment on products, but if you are a big boy and like cushion, durability, and comfort, you might want to skip these and try something else. Bring back the 10's

Front Cushioning PLEASE.
I've been wearing the Glycerin for a over 5 years now. I switched after Nike's Pegasus felt like it was being cheaply made.
I have the hardest time finding front cushioned running shoes. I've always been a front-foot runner - my heal never strikes the ground. Finding a running shoe that has significant cushioning in the front has become nearly impossible.
The Glycerin was my last hope and now this last pair seems to have gone by the way of many others shoes I could wear. They're not as bad
as some, but my old Glycerin still seem to have more cushion than my new one in the front. And I'm a woman (125lbs), but I usually wear men's because they often have more cushioning than the women's shoes of the same model.
Would SOME running shoe maker PLEASE offer a WELL cushioned front runner? Please?
Great cushion and durability
I am a 5'8" 185 stocky build. I am in the military so I need to run. My avg pace is sub 8. I recently went back to a mid foot strike from a heel strike (motion control) and use NB minimus 1010v2 for intervals and faster days. I use the Glycerins on longer runs for the cushioning and have found they work very well. They are not my fastest shoes due to the cushioning but are great for long runs. They also show no signs of wearing down after a year. The laces are outstanding and the shoes fit like a soft glove. Road feel and response are slightly spongy but great for longer runs and knee back issues. I've had 5x knee surgeries and used to get shin splints and achilles pain. These shoes have let me run without any of those.
Fits like a glove
I went to Roadrunner looking for a 2nd pair of ASIC Gel Nimbus 17s, I was pretty happy with but had an issue that I wanted to compare to a different pair to see if the problem was the shoe or the foot. I explained the issue to Stacy and she returned with these Glycerins and I knew within 1 second of trying them on that I was going to be wearing them out. I wear an 11.5-2E and these things fit like they were sprayed on, they don't provide the same level of cushion the Nimbus does, but I am learning the Nimbus isn't named after a cloud for no reason, and the Glycerins don't feel at all hard or stiff, they just fit well and provide solid cushioning, I am very happy with them.

Not as good as the 11...
I am a long-time runner who as been a Glycerin wearer for several years. My closet is full of old Glycerins. The 11 was the best of the line so far.
The 12 was a total miss. I do not understand why Brooks decided to make such drastic changes to the shoe. The fit is completely different (I wear a 2E). The really show-stopper is a narrowing of the sole. This has resulted in making the shoe way less stable then the 11. In fact, my first long-run in the shoe resulted in sore knees - a first for me and my Glycerins. Very disappointing.
The Glycerin 12 is a great update to its predecessor. The 12 is light weight, comfortable, more durable, and run ready right out oft the he box. I ran 3 marathons in the Glycerin 10's. They were a great shoe, although a little bulky and heavy. The 11's were comfy and lighter but wore out quickly and I didn't feel they offered as much support. The 12's are a great blend of comfort, support, and durability. I just completed the Portland Marathon in 12's. They performed extremely well. This is a shoe I will purchase again.
I had serious problems with my ankles swelling and a lot of pain. I had gone to an orthopedic surgeon who said I had bone on bone pain. Then I tried these Glycerin 12's with plush cushion inserts from Roadrunner and now I can actually run. No pain. I have worn them for 6 months every day. They look great so I decided to buy new ones before they discontinue them. They are a life saver. If they can work that well for me, then they would certainly protect a real serious runner.
Great comfortable fit
I use these for half marathon training. They fit perfectly and the width is true to form. Great cushion. I'm 185 lbs and they are so comfortable and have a lot cushion. I've always been a Nike fan, but these shoes just fit the best when I tried them. I supinate (land on the outside of my feet) and these neutral shoes have helped a lot. The shoes and the even the shoelaces are high quality. Great shoes! Highly recommend.

A little stiff
Shoes are extremely comfortable! I've run 4 ironman races wearing Glycerins. I am recovering from herniated disc and periformis issues. The cushioning is a little hard and the soles are a little stiff. Previous models were softer and less stiff. Great arch support. I am 5'11". 190. I will keep these shoes and hopefully they will soften up a little. I have about 100 miles on them now. If they don't soften up I will be switching brands.
Pinches 1 interior forefoot
Brooks Glycerin my go-to shoe! (35+ mi/wk; 185 lbs) BUT I'm bummed that i had to give up on the Glycerin 12. My left interior forefoot comes to rest on the stabilizer edge, annoying about mile 7-8 and unbearable at 15. Im sure its just that one foot wider than the other, but i never had this issue with Glycerin 9-11's so regret i have to give up on the Glycerin 12's - especially because color is kick $#% ! Just pay attention to the interior forefoot edge when fitting!

The Best cushioning shoes I ever used
After having 2 neuromas excisions and 2 stump neuromas also excised and an osteotomy in my right foot, the only shoes that could accommodate my custom orthotics and relieved the pressure and pain in my forefoot were the Glycerin 12 2E. I went back to running and besides my tempos and intervals, I do my long runs up to 16 miles the weekends. Great shoes! supportive and light..
I have couple pairs of the Glycerin 10s (skipped the 11s since the 10s were still holding up), which was a great shoe for my foot type. The 12s are even better. These shoes are so well-cushioned and comfortable right out of the box. They really didn't require a break-in period. Ran a 5k race in them a week after receiving the order and couldn't be happier.
It's Brooks. Nuff Said.
Every couple of years I see something new and get sucked in to trying it. This year's experiement was with the Hoka Bondi, which just didn't work. Called in the Road Runner fit guarantee, returned them for the Glycerin 12, and remembered why I should never stray. Did 8 miles the first day on them with nary a problem, now rotate them with my Pure Flows and Cascadias. Brooks for life.
Fabulous shoe. This is my second pair (different color)
I go to the gym everyday, Monday thru Friday. I do Cardio and Strength exercises on Mon. Wed, and Fri. I walk on the track on Tues. and Thur. These shoes are great for all my exercises. Plus they are comfortable for everyday use as well. I love them and have recommended them to others as well.

Very Nice Shoe
I am 5'10" and 165 lbs. Run 10-15 miles/week and some 5K racing. I also do a good bit of walking each week.
Very nice feel to these shoes. Comfortable on pavement and they fit very well. I also run in the Brooks Pure Flow.
I ran in the 11s and found they wore more quickly than I thought they should. Not yet sure about these.
Overall, I'm very satisfied.
Great Brooks Shoe
I run in two different shoes depending on what I'm doing. The Glycerin is a great cushioned (but not too heavy) shoe. Plush and comfortable when I'm running on hard surfaces and/or longer runs. Very breathable and offers great grip on the pavement. After a month, I really don't have any complaints.

Love these shoes!
I've used these shoes for jogging and walking on pavement and grass. I've had them for about a month, (9-12 miles a week). I'm also a beginner runner, and I have wide feet. They breathe really nicely, they're comfortable, and are nice in terms of aesthetics.

Great shoe for a "big boned" runner like me
Got these to replace my worn out Adrenalins. They have more cushioning which feels a little weird at first, but it worked great for me after my first run. At 6'3", 240lb with a neutral pronation, they have given me no ancle issues I would sometimes get with the Adrenalines.
The G12's are Solid
This is a solid offering from Brooks. I run about 50 miles a week and I haven't noticed a discernible difference, good or bad, with this version compared to the 10's or 11's.
If you're new to the shoe, make sure it fits properly. I don't have a really wide foot but prefer the 2E over standard width.
Great tennis shoe, would buy again!
I stood in these for hours while fishing, and my feet did not hurt as they usually would if I had sandals on. The extra width is perfect because I never had to deal with "breaking in" these shoes as I would've done if the shoe was regular width.
I have been using this shoe for my Easy Runs and Long runs. I like the Super DNA that adapts to my particular weight and stride. Feels like a solid shoe so far. Been running about 30 to 45 miles a week lately preparing for a Marathon.

Brooks Glycerin 12
Am 66. Just a walker now. Avg. 1700 miles annually. Glycerin 12s the best for me (have high arches and need a neutral shoe)after testing so many different brands of shoes. Just love, love the Glycerin 12s.
Started to fall apart on me.
Tread began detaching from sole after only a couple months of use. Figured it was just one little piece, not worth dealing with a return. Now 6-months in and I have lost about 5 pieces of tread. It should be noted, I am not an enthusiast runner or walker so these shoes for the most part only got normal wear and tear on them.
Better than 11
I have been using glycerin 11 for more than a year now and was happy with that but Glycerin 12 is much better...i am a heavy runner with pain on my heel but didnt feel any discomfort on the new glcerin 12
This beast is unstoppable in all conditions and on the trail as well. Buttery ride with great stability on uneven surface (compare to Hoka). Consistently study. Buy one half size larger than usual.

Cadillac cruisers. Extremely comfortable.
"THE" Shoes to be on your feet all day in . My friend noticed his back & feet have less pain at the end of a long day. I love my Brooks & the Glycerin 12's are my favorite so far.
Slippery when wet
Overall nice shoe. Light, comfortable. Only complaint is that it does slip a bit on push off if the ground is wet. I live in the Northwest so damp/mildewy pavement is common.
Raichu the electric rat
first time running with Brooke shoes. I like to try new shoes to switch it up now and then and I would totally buys these again. Feet have been feeling good after long runs.

Long Run Comfort
Marathon distance on the training schedule but ankle problem surfacing. Bought this shoe. Ankle problem vanished and comfortable run was had less than a week later. Happy runner!
