Cons
Best Uses Have worn Cascadia model for years. Generally quite satisfied. The Cascadia 10 felt good out of the box and delivered the expected forefoot protection with the rock shield. Feel and responsiveness was decent. However, uppers on both shoes were ripped within 2 months of dry weather running. Disappointing.
Pros
Cons Best Uses
I really love this shoe. I trail run 3 to 4 times a week and always used my road runners (Asics Gel Nimbus) in the past. I switched after a friend bought these and now I'm hooked. The tread is great for running in the desert (lots of loose gravel/rocks). The sole of these absorb rock hits while remaining flexible. I like these so much I got rid of my hiking boots and now only use these. I read some earlier reviews about durability of the upper and I have many miles on these and have had no issues at all. You're going to love these – don't forget to buy one size up from your regular show size.
Pros Cons Best Uses I just replaced my leadvilles with these, and they are very similar. My street shoe is a brooks launch, and I prefer a wider toe box, so I love these. These are a ever so slightly firmer than the launch, but not too much. I love these shoes and this is the first time I have bought cascadias. The size 10 fits like a typical size 10. Very happy with these. Added bonus is that the color that appears black and yellow is better than it appears. It is a very dark blue and a slightly cool yellow and not those awful steelers colors.
Pros Cons Best Uses I have been a loyal Cascadia runner since the Cascadia 4. Since then I am torn every time I go shopping for new shoes. Cascadias fit my feet great but the quality has gotten worse and worse the last few years. The Cascadia 8 fell apart five miles in, the nine toe box mesh fell apart within 50 miles and now the 10 falls apart twenty miles in. Dang it. So what do i do, go and get another pair because maybe it was a lemon. Nope same thing within 50 miles. and now the pure girt 3 are 80 to 90 miles in and the same exact spot on the toe box mesh separated. Sorry Brooks, I love the feel of your shoes on the trails but I just can't spend the money anymore when you can't build a shoe that can last. With that said, I was able to put well over 400 miles on the Cascadia 6 and 7 and if I could find a pair of the 7s in a 9.5 I would buy them all! If you like Cascadias I would recommend checking out the leadville by new balance. Seems to hold up quite a bit better however doesn't have the trail feel of the Cascadia.
