The Brooks. Epiphany: A revelation in performance cushioning, Epiphany represents a fusion of Brooks' technologies with some of the most advanced materials ever used in a performance running shoe. This state-of-the-art high-mileage cushion trainer delivers an unrivaled, energy-returning ride.
  • Rearfoot HydroFlow. XL: The best heel cusioning in footwear. It absorbs the shock, stabilizes the heel and returns energy back to the foot, stride after stride.
  • Forefoot HydroFlow. FLX: New forefoot cushioning pad provides outstanding cushioning and shock absorption under the metatarsals while still allowing maximum flexibility.
  • Full-length S-257 Midsole: Exclusive midsole compound formulated to decrease breakdown by 15% while providing excellent energy return and cushioning on every stride.
  • Dual Density DRB Accel: High-density molded TPU engineered into the midfoot for torsional stability. A softer density is placed on the lateral for a smooth ride and a firmer density is placed on the medial for added stability.
  • Engineered Cush-Pod Configuration: Midsole and outsole components are engineered to set the foot in an efficient, balanced position from heel strike to toe-off, offering maximum cushioning and flexibility.
  • S-257 Cushsole: Durable and energy-efficient midsole compound utilized as an insole board for even more cushioning and flexibility.
  • eFusion Technology:
  • e-0 is a new engineered outsole material that delivers unsurpassed skid and abrasion resistance compared to traditional outsole materials
  • e-1 is a new compound, engineered to dampen and dissipate shock upon heel impact.
  • e-2 is a highly resilient compound with a superor spring rate.

Too much plastic, uncomfortable forefoot area. Worst running shoes I have ever purchased. I have been wearing Brooks for 20 years. These shoes will keep me away from Brooks brand for a while.

I switched to Epiphany after five lower-leg stress fractures in five yrs. I'm 6', 190lb, high arches, run every other day, 30mi wk. No idea if the shoes staved off fractures, but so far, so good after 18 months.

I bought these shoes based on some other good reviews I read on another site...obviously I didn't read the reviews on this site or I would have avoided these shoes. I have owned the Epiphany for about 2 months. The uppers on both shoes have torn on the inside and outside of the shoe. I am experi...

Sat, February 11,2006:
Felt great on my feet, no for 300 miles, then the uppers ripped off the forefoot in both shoes the same week. Never had that happen in 30 years of running!

Mon, January 09,2006:
The price is outrageous and unjustified. Brooks changed their lasts and no longer makes a shoe that fits a woman's foot. The heel was so loose, my foot slipped no matter how I laced it. The toebox is too snug, and they don't offer D widths for their cushioned shoes. Very disappointed in Brooks, ...

I've been a avid runner for over 35 years. These shoes absolutely tore my legsup-knee pain, achilles troubles, etc. I called Brooks and got no where. Wrote the Brooks President a certified letter-- 3 weeks later, no answer. Could it be that Brooks doesn't give a crap about us???

I must admit I read the negative reviews and still bought them. All your reviews are on target. For $120, I expected a lot but really was stuck in the you know where with these pieces of junk. I wouldn't run in these shoes even if Brooks paid me to do so.

Sun, September 04,2005:
These shoes lasted 150 miles before the sole wore completely through. The insoles have a strange window in the heel that caused blisters on my feet. This is my first and last pair of Brooks shoes.

These are great shoes for the first 300 miles. Unfortunately, they lost some (not lots) cushioning around then. Still, a quality shoe, but rather pricy.

these shoes make my feet tired and achy after only a few minutes of activity. I won't be buying them again. :P

Worst shoes I ever paid over $100 for. Brooks, get with the program or get out of the running shoe business!!!!

13.    Lh8802 rated this product 1 star
Fri, June 03,2005:
The shoe offers an excellent cushioned and responsive ride. However, despite all its cutting edge technology hyped by Brooks, these shoes are not durable and are not worth the $120 price. Very poor value.

For those runners who love these shoes, happy running. I just sent mine back---they just don't do it for me.

I love them. I run every week 30 miles in them including a long run of 15 miles on Saturdays. And I have absolutly no problem. To the contrary, they are very comfortable, very good cushioning, no pain at all. I did just an Half Ironman in them which had an extreme trail and very hilly run course. It...

Hey Brooks, way to go!! Over $100 bucks for an absolutely dumb shoe. I ran a 20k Sunday, came home, looked at the shoes and saw worn through soles. Let's see; mileage at wear out was exactly 87. 5 miles. Lasted me 2 weeks. At this rate I'd rather buy a tire for $100 bucks, use the tread to resole t...

Not worth the price. Way less cushion than asics. extremely unhappy.

Worked for me- low arches need a firm feel. Shoe wears out at 200 miles. Definitely not for a heavy runner. Feel that $60 is a reasonable price. Will buy another pair.

You people are absolutely out of your minds. You have no idea of what kind of shoe you need. This is an incredibly responsive and comfortable shoe. If you run like a bison than this is not the shoe for you, youn need the Brooks Beast. Ease up on the Ephiphany and go take a spinning class or somet...

I'm a 150 lb. 30-40 mile per week runner and found the cushioning was quite good and they fit my high arch feet very well. Good ventalation for hot weather runs. Did wear out sooner than some others.

Mon, April 18,2005:
Brooks, give me a break; these are the absolute worst running shoes I have ever worn in 40 years of serious running. I still do 35-45 miles per week and wore these soles completely out in less than 1 month, yes that's 1 month. Recall all these shoes, Brooks, before you become the Ford Edsel equival...

Lousy shoes! Have high arches, could barely get these on. Almost no cushioning. Worth about $10 at the clearance stores. Noticed newer version changed colors and increased price by $10 to $130 for a $10 shoe. Priceless!!!

I am bringing these shoes in for a refund, They are terrible. I am 210 pounds and into my 3rd mile the mid sole did not provide the cushion needed. For a $120 dollar shoe they are poor.... worth about $20 for just using for walking around the yard or as slippers. I will never buy another pair of ...
