I was fitted by VA Runner and they recommended this shoe along with another Neutral cushion by New Balance. They didn't have any of the NB in stock that day. This was the first non-NB shoe I've worn in over 5 years. Although skeptical at first, Brooks came through, and I'm now looking to replace the ones I've worn out. The only thing I don't like about them is that they get smellier than NB. I run trails and through mud and water quite frequently. These shoes held up really well, but all the water and nastiness I run them through really made them smell. Maybe it's just my feet right....or my neighbor's cat... if I catch that cat...

These shoes are fantastic! I have incredibly flat feet, and use custom orthotics to protect a foot injury. Most of the specialized running shoe stores put me in stability shoes such as the adrenaline GTS7 (with the orthotics) and I could not run without pain in my arch's and around the outer ankle area. I ran pain free for the first time in 2 years today with the orthotics in, and they are extremely comfortable. I am now stocking up on the DYAD's!

This is a horrible shoe. I ran on Dyad 3's for 2 years and never had any foot or leg pain. I now get both heel and knee pain when I run. I might as well tie bricks to my feet.

I've had trouble finding comfortable shoes, but Dyad 4 does the trick. I'm 5'7" 150lbs, 35 mi/wk. I usually use stability shoes but this "neutral" shoes has enough stability for me. Though the specs say medium toe box, it's definitely wide and I like that. This shoe also fits my medium-to-low arches well. I've run 45 mi on them so far and at one point got sore around the lacings. I relaced them, skipping some holes, and the problem went away. Great shoe!

This shoe is perfect for me. I have run my first two marathons in the Dyad 4's and have never had any foot or knee issues in training (up to 55 miles/week) or in the races. I am big for a marathoner (6'3"; 245#'s) and they hold up extremely well. A local specialty shoe store recommended the Dyad 4 due to the cushioning and fit for my low arch and efficient gate. I have seven pair and hope they keep making these shoes. If you are not a big pronator, this could be a good shoe to try.

This shoe started my love affair with Brooks. Extremely comfortable, nice fit. Only downside is its lack of flexibility, therefore I only recommend it for heavy runners like me (180+) that need a lot of cushioning.

Fri, August 24,2007:
I've worn the Dyad 2's and now 4's over the past few years, running up to 35 miles/week in them. Of the shoes that I've tried, these have by far been the most comfortable as I have a wide fore-foot, am somewhat larger for a runner (6'1" / 190 lbs.), and am a mid-to-fore foot striker that does not require a lot of structure and stability that only benefits heel-strikers. I run on the rocky shoulders of roads for long runs and usually a treadmill during the week for shorter runs. The cushioning is among the best that I've tried. To me, this is a great shoe and great value.

Well, Brooks has taken my all time favorite shoe, the Dyad 3 and pretty much ruined it. My feet hurt a bit just walking around in my house. The cushion is still there I'm sure, but the fit was very different ; the base isn't quite as wide, and the upper is less supportive - I had to lace them almost too tightly to keep them from slipping around. Not the most aesthetically pleasing shoe either. I'm sending mine back.

I'm 5'9" and 200 lbs. I have never worn a more comfortable running shoe. I'm training for my first marathon and I'm up to 17 miles a week. I've ran on dirt, pavement, and a treadmill and can't believe the combo of cushioning and stability. I highly recommend these for the big fellas out there.

This shoe never seems to run out of cushioning. After 5 months and training for and running a marathon with these, they still absorbed a great amount of pounding from the roads. I now run about 20miles a week - 175lbs. I will continue to buy the Dyad 4's.

I have spent years trying to find a shoe that does not hurt. I thank Super Dave for suggesting these. I require a laterally flat fore foot for my sandal wearing feet.

This is the best, most comfortable cushioned shoe I have ever worn. I had worn the Brooks Radius and Asics Nimbus for a few years. I am 6 feet 185 lbs. and run about 15-20 miles per week. Very sturdy and very comfortable. I highly recommend it for bigger runners with high arches.

Really like this shoe. Wear has been fantastic. Works well with my semi-rigid orthotics and has great cushioning. Has lasted the longest of all of the Brooks shoes I have worn.
